Trust Issues

When Don reached the end of the aisle, he paused and turned around just to get another glance at the zombie. It was standing with its back against him. That was his chance.

Don took this opportunity and began moving backwards, keeping his eyes fixed on the zombie. The farther he stepped away, the more relieved he felt. He was sure he had made it when his back suddenly collided with that of another person.

Startled, Don whipped around to see a gun pointed straight at him. For a moment, his heart stopped, fear paralyzing him. But then he recognized the woman behind the gun and felt a rush of relief.

"Sarah?" he breathed, barely believing his eyes. "You scared the hell out of me," he whispered, feeling his racing heart slow down.
