Meanwhile, the battle of the strongest had ended in an instant, with the mysterious assassin, Toji Fushiguro, standing tall over the body of one half of the strongest duo in mordern Jujutsu, the heir of the Gojo clan, Satoru Gojo.
.
Underneath Jujutsu High, two figures stood before a labyrinth of tombs, a young girl and a handsome young man with dark hair. While the face of the young man was filled with worry and the sad smile on his face did nothing to conceal that.
"This is as far as I go. Once you enter the barrier, you'll be protected by Tengen-sama, hence no assassin would be able to get to you.."
The young girl intently watched him, as he spoke, trying to figure out how he truly felt about her fate.
"Or, you can turn back, and return home with Kuroi. .."
"What?!"
The moment he spoke, she retorted in shock, as his statement truly took her by surprise.
"When we were assigned the mission by our teacher, he referred to the merger as an erasure, and Satoru and I decided that if you should refuse the merger, then we would call the mission off and protect you from any backlash.."
As Suguru spoke, tears slowly welled up within the eyes of the young star plasma vessel, Riko Amanai.
"No matter what you chose, we decided to protect your future, no matter the cost.." He spoke and looked at her, as she began narrating her story and everything she had faced and didn't want to go through anymore.
"Let's go home, Riko.."
Suguru stretched out his hand with a reassuring smile, as Riko smiled and stretched out hers.
*SWOOSH!*
Just as she was about to take his hand, a figure seemed to appear before them in a ghost like fashion. At that instant, Suguru turned around in fear, watching the ghost like figure reappear before them at that moment.
"Watch out!!"
Before he could eveb unleash his cursed technique, the mysterious figure before him suddenly pulled out a pistol from o it of nowhere and shot towards Riko who was completely unguarded.
Watching the bullet pierce towards the young girl's skull, he quickly utilised his cursed energy and moved in a burst of speed wanting to reach her, however, rather than pushing her away, he moved before her as the bullet pierced his right arm.
"Go now!!"
Suguru roared out to Riko, and shielded her with a cursed spirit, as the mysterious figure continuously fired multiple shots towards her.
"Who're you?.."
Suguru asked with a grim expression, as he stirred up his cursed energy within his body, and ignored the pain in his arm.
The mysterious assassin on the other hand did not reply and only puked out a small round object, which enlarged itself into a purplish worm like cursed spirit which spat out a long katana into his hands.
"Where's Gojo Satoru?!" Suguru asked in fury, as armies of cursed spirit materialised behind him. The assassin on the other hand, Toji simply blasted forth at sonic speed, while brandishing his blade, while Suguru stretched out his hand, summoning silvery coloured cursed spirits like energy beams, shooting them towards Toji's figure, who changed his plan of attack and leapt into the air in order to dodge attacks from the cursed spirit army.
His body moved like a ghost atop the roofs of the tombs, slashing and cleaving through the cursed spirits that blasted towards him like energy beams.
'He's too fast. Close combat will be disadvantageous to me. I need to keep him in long range and finish the attack in one move..'
Whilst thinking he raised his head seeing the assassin run atop the massive tree situated in the middle of the tombs.
Gritting his teeth, he stretched out his arm, as a large black portal materialised behind him. The next moment, a rather long white dragon suddenly appeared and shot towards Toji was descending at full speed.
*SLASH!*
Gritting his teeth, the assassin summoned every ounce of power within his body and slashed out his katana, cleaving the massive dragon into two, much to the shock of the long haired sorcerer.
'How is this possible?! The rainbow dragon has the toughest hide of all. Could it be?….Was he the assassin who had attacked Kenshin and the others?!! But there's something different! It's as if he's moving purely on his instinct.'
Turning around, Suguru's eyes squinted, as the assassin finally landed a few meters away from him and both of them faced off.
"Are you Toji…Toji Fushiguro?" Finally seeing the visage of his atttacker, Suguru finally remembered his conversation a few months ago, where Kenshin had told him of Toji, the mysterious assassin who had tried to kill him twice and how he was now on his side.
However, the moment Suguru mentioned the man's name, he could see a speck of light returning to his dull and lifeless eyes, as the man's jaw dropped an inch, as if he was trying to say something, however the next moment, his eyes widened as he groaned, while veins appeared on his face, evidence of the struggle within.
'He's being controlled? How? Don't tell me it's Kenzo?!'
Suguru was about to rush out to help Toji when the assassin rushed out with a roar, with the katana cocked back, going for the kill.
Left with no choice, Suguru ultimately resorted to his trump card. A technique that had been lost in the annals of Jujutsu for nearly a century.
"Cursed technique: Maximum Uzumaki…"
Lifting up a finger to the sky, a mass of energy gathered into a large black sphere that undulated with an unusually evil aura.
"I'm sorry…"
Geto extended his finger, allowing tendrils of the sphere to blast towards Toji with immense power and ferocity. Quickly taking out the inverted spear of Heaven, Toji crossed both weapons before his chest, and successfully tanked about 50 percent of the attack, however the remaining force of the attack, ripped through his chest, hurling him into the large tree in the middle of the labyrinth.
"Sigh….Satoru!!"
Suguru sighed, tore his uniform and tied it around his wound, before he rushed out, wanting to get to his friend when a ghost like figure appeared before him in a split second.
*PUCHI!*
The next thing he heard was the sound of a blade ripping apart a flesh, accompanied by a splash of blood, before a nerve wracking pain assaulted his senses.
Looking down, he saw the inverted spear of heaven lodged deep into his chest, and he raised his head once more, only to see the quivering and dilating pupils of Toji Fushiguro.
He dropped to his knees and coughed out blood, while a small smile accepting smile formed on his face, as if he was accepting his fate.
"Didn't know…it was going to end..like this.."
Lifting himself to his feet, he walked to the large tree in the middle of the labyrinth and took a seat, leaning against the woody surface as his senses slowly dulled, memories flashing within his thoughts for a few moments, until the cold embrace of death washed over him.
The last thing he saw was Toji struggling to open his mouth and slowly muttering a few words as a tear dripped down his cheek.
A/N: I'm sorry guys.
