Shopping in Another World
"Mister.."
A soft and sweet voice wakes me from my slumber. I can feel my body shaking gently.
"Mister… wake up… Mister… breakfast is ready..."
"Uhh… oh, good morning " I mustered my entire strength and will to open my eyes, there I found Viola standing beside my bed. Gently shaking my body with her arm.
"Mister, breakfast is ready" She said
"Ah sure, what time is this?" I looked and reached around to try to find my phone.
"Ah wait, I'm on another world right now" I muttered, I completely forgot that I was not on Earth anymore.
"Do you want to sleep for a little bit longer, mister?" said Viola with curious eyes.
"Ah, no… let's go and have our breakfast" I said as I got myself up from the bed.
Viola then pointed to the table in the corner of the room. There were two steel trays filled with bread, a bowl of soup and a piece of apple each.
"Miss Rose just came a moment ago to deliver these, she said I should wake you up before the food went cold" She said.
"I see, thank you for waking me up. Since there's only one chair you can eat here, I'll eat on the bed" I said as I picked up one of the trays and proceeded to sit on the bed.
With no hesitation I then picked up the spoon and scooped the soup from the bowl. It was warm and savory. The bread also served as a nice companion for the soup, It's not entirely plain but has a subtle sweetness to it. I then break one big piece of the bread and dip it in the soup broth, my goodness it was succulent and heavenly.
"How does it taste? Do you think it's delicious?"
"Yes," She said and nodded.
I smiled. It's been awhile since I enjoyed a proper and laid-back breakfast like this. My morning usually is very hectic or I just skipped breakfast altogether, also the fact that I was sharing it with someone made me a little bit happier than usual.
Soon we finished our meal and what was left was a stack of dirty utensils.
"Alright, let's gather these and head downstairs. We'll be going out today"
"Going out?"
"Yes, I hope you can accompany me. You don't mind right, Viola?"
"Oh, no I don't mind"

We left the Inn and navigated our way in the busy city street once again. I had taken a mental note to go to a tailor and finally buy Viola some decent clothes. I turned my head and took a glance behind me, there Viola followed my steps. Now that she is neat and tidy, her beautiful appearance is dissonantly ruined by her rugged clothes. She must have been living on the street for quite a while to get her clothes ruined like that.
"Cling...Cling..." A bell rang as I opened the tailor's office door. A well dressed man quickly turned his way towards me.
"Ah welcome, how may I help you" He said with a friendly tone
"Yes, can you please get me some ready made clothes for this lady over here" I said as I point to Viola behind me
"Ah… mister.. no, there's no need, I am fine as it is ..." She said, mumbling her words
"But your clothes were rugged and dirty Viola, you cannot wear those anymore"
"Yes but you don't have to buy any for me,.."
"It's alright Viola, I insist. Besides, I was planning to buys some for myself too so might as well"
"Alright..." She said with a defeated voice
"Uhm, can you help me find some clothes that would suit her?" I said to the shopkeeper
"Of course, what kind of clothes do you prefer, miss?"
"..." Viola stood there in silence, seemingly too shy to speak her mind.
"Anything is good, as long as it looks good on her " I said
"Understood, Reina, can you please help this young girl?" The shopkeeper shouted,
"Yes father, come with me miss"
A girl appeared from the back of the shop and then guided Viola around the shop. In the meantime I also used this opportunity to look around by myself, I took some clothes that piqued my interest and some that seemed to be well made. I'm not very picky when it comes to clothing, as long as it's comfortable then I would be more than happy to wear it.
"Excuse me sir, what do you think about this one?" The shopkeeper disrupted me, on his side was Viola wearing a beautiful and sinuous dress. It has many curls and curves with intricate knits and embroidery, seeing her wear it makes it as if I was standing in front of a nobility. She looks beautiful, fully deserving of that dress while her ears and tails just make sight even more exotic.I was enamored, But I quickly came back to my senses.
"She looks gorgeous, but can you find something that is more casual and also perhaps… something a bit less expensive?"
"Of course, please wait for a bit"
Moments later, Viola returned. This one with a dress that is simpler yet still elegant and tasteful, the skirt was shorter than before, slightly above the knee and it also has long sleeves. There were not many ornaments except a beautiful white ribbon on the collar and a minimal frill here and there.
"I think it suited her very well, she looks very beautiful. It also seems comfortable to wear and move around. Do you like this one Viola?"
"mph…." She nods, her face is beet red and she seemingly can not stop looking down.
I smiled contently. "How much for this one?"
"This one will be 60 silver coins"
"I see, get me two more like this and I'll get it for 160 silver coins, what do you think?"
"So you'll get three of them? Ah, I'm sorry but that price won't do mister"
"I'm sure you can, I also plan on buying some of this" I said as I pointed to some of the clothes that I picked for myself beforehand.
"Hmm… Alright, we have a deal then. Reina can you help the young lady pick some that is similar to this one"
"Yes father"
Soon after we paid for our things, we left the store with two bags of clothes and an entirely new dress that Viola wears. I was happy with our purchases, I was able to get some clothes for my day to day use since the one that I got on me was the only clothes I have when I was transported to this world. Viola also seems to like her new dress, it suits her really well and now she finally looks like an ordinary girl.
"Do you like your new dress Viola?" I asked Viola, who walked beside me.
"Uhm…. yes, I like it very much," she said quietly.
"I'm glad to hear that, let's see… next up is... the place of Gomon the mage" I said as I read the paper that Rose gave me last night. She had written down the address of a mage that is said to have an appraisal skill.
"We are not going back mister?"
"Ah no, I was planning to appraise myself and check whether I have magical affinity or not. If don't want you can go back to the Inn first if you'd like"
"Ah no, I don't mind" She said "
"Uhm… May I help you carry those?" She said again as she points to the bags that I carry.
"Yes, of course. Thank you Viola" I said as I handed her one of the bags.
