Xyris P.O.V.

"This place is probihited from tourist." The woman spat. I can't help but notice the tinge of irritation in her tone.

"Well, maybe you should try creating a sign next time that tourist are not allowed here." I sneered.

Mula kay Brandon ay nakataas kilay na bumaling sa akin ang babae. "Listen, this part of the island are full of wild animals and wondering here might harm you." Paliwanag nito. I can sense her dislikes of me and yeah, we totally shared the same feeling.

I snickered. "Wild animals? Like what? Wolf?" Sarkastikong sagot ko na nagpakunot sa noo nito.

The brown eyed woman look at me with a suspicion. She was about to talk back when Brandon end our little girl talk.

"Xyris, I guess Annalise is right. This place is quite in the deep part of the forest already. We should head back now." He tittered agreeing with the woman.

Napakibit balikat na lang ako. Though this place looks like a paradise, I can't help but notice the kind of wind that's circulates here. It is suffocating and my dryad side feels anxious about it. This feels kinda weird considering that I am supposed to be at ease with nature. I look around the place one last time. The place is indeed breathtaking but a constant pain in my heart made me think that there is something with the place. It looks beautiful and calming but as I look at it longer, my dryad starting to feel anything but calm. Maybe there is a reason why this place is prohibited from tourist.

"We'll leave now." Wika ni Brandon at nagpatiunang humakbang papunta sa beach.

Annalise just nodded and followed us with her eyes as we walk the path back from where we came from.

Brandon and I walk in an deafening silence. Brandon must have notice that I'm a little bit grumpy but he choose to respect my lack of words regards with what happened. It is so not me to argue and act sarcastic towards someone.

We are almost outside the forest when I decided to broke the silence eerie silence between us. "That woman, I'm curious about her. Who is she?" I asks as we slowly walk in the sandy forest ground.

"She's Kaige's fiancée." Maikling sagot nito.

Bahagya akong natigilan. To my confusion, a small pain cross my heart upon hearing her connection to the Alpha. She's the future Luna of this pack but so what? Why do I feel so affected about it?

Nanlaki ang mata ko ng marealize and isang bagay. Napatigil ako sa paghakbang. Brandon stops walking when he notice that I halted.

Do I have a crush on that poor excuse of an Alpha?

Zhav's P.O.V.

"We have identified her location. She is hiding in the Duskfall Island." I raised my brow at the information from one of my trusted tracker and warrior.

"Really, now that's interesting. I never thought that the woman would consider hiding under her mate's wings." He chuckled as he take a sip of whiskey in his glass. Does the woman even know that she is mated to Kaige? He highly doubt that but even if she knows it, it doesn't really matter. Duskfall pack is never a fan of matebond so there's really nothing to worry about.

"What's your plan Zhav? It will be difficult for us to enter the island at this point to get her. Kaige will surely kill any rogue who would dare to set a foot in his territory." Nagaalalang wika nito.

"I know, but no worries. I know just the right person to do the job." He will get her no matter what. He don't care a bit even if she is in the deepest part of hell. He will have her by hook or by crook.

Xyris P.O.V.

Night is slowly fading and the sun rises on the eastern part of the Island but sleep is quite out of reach for Xyris. She takes a deep sigh and focus her eyes on the mixture of colours in the sky above.

It's been 15 years since she became a vessel of a dryad. Since then, there is no single night that she was able to sleep peacefully. Night is the time to take a rest for her human form but her dryad side is mostly active by night-time.

It was hard for her at first but as time goes by she became acquainted with it. She look at her wrist where the encryption of her contract with the dryad is written. She accepted the bond and agreed to be the vessel of a creature that is unknown to the human society. Like, who would have thought that she will meet creatures behind the fantasy novels that everyone loves to read?

She decided to take advantage of the blissful morning an take a brisk walk in the forest. There's really not much tourist hanging around at the beach at this hour. Most of them are sleeping like a dead man because of the hype during the night.

Her mind is clouded at the moment due to unexplainable feelings that she started to feel the moment she set a foot on this island. Everything feels so weird and her dryad side is somehow starting to feel anxious.

She have known her dryad for being calm and collected even though with the fact that someone is after her and her power. It never showed a sign of fear. But now, the moment she entered this Island. Strong emotion flooded her senses and she is quite not ready to handle them. She is not ready to handle any of it all.

"A penny for your thoughts." She was taken aback with a familiar voice from behind her.

Agad siyang napalingon sa pinanggalingan ng tinig. She can't help but raised her eyebrow when her bluish grey eyes meet his dee0 black ones. He is really the last person she wanted to encounter today.

"You're up early." He whispered but it loud enough for me to hear. He take that opportunity to freely roam his eyes in my face.

"It's really none of your business." Sagot ko saka mabilis na tinalikuran ito. I was about to walk towards the sandy beach when I feel his strong hand delicately encircled my small wrist.

I turn around and for the second time today and my eyes meet his deep black ones.

"If you want, I can accompany you while you are taking your stroll at the beach." He offered.

"But why?" The question leaves my mouth faster than my mind can brainstorm. There's a part of me that's just wanted to say yes and enjoy this morning with him but the tingles that his touch sent to me is making me feel antsy as well. The tingling sensation is creeping in my skin and sending chills directly up to my beating heart.

I noticed that his expression remains serious at my question despite of his friendly offer. From his handsome face, my eyes went down to his hand that is entangled to mine.

Napasinghap ako sa nakita ko. If only I knew I should have avoided him the moment I meet him. Shock is an understatement to describe how I feel the moment I saw a golden thread that seems to connect his wrist with mine. To his surprise, I immediately pulled my hand from his hold as if I was burnt from it. I immediately take a small step backwards to distance myself away from him.

Fuck! This can't be happening, I'm fucked!

His cold expression vanished immediately upon seeing my surprise reaction. I'm pretty sure the word 'panic' is written in bold letters at my face at the moment.

"Is anything wrong?" Nagaalalang tanong nito. Completely oblivious at the bond that's slowly connects us when he touch me unintentionally.

"I'm sorry." I mumbled. "I-i should really go back right now. Brandon might be looking for me." Pagdadahilan ko rito. Kahit nagtataka ay nanatiling tahimik ang Alpha.

I can feel his confused eyes that's following me as I walk as fast as I can back to the hotel. Somehow, I am thankful for the ritual that's blocking our bond. If not for it, I'm pretty sure this is going to be a wild disaster. Alpha's are known to be quite possessive and territorial.

Damn it! I don't remember signing up for any of this when I booked my flight here.

My heart is beating fast out of fear. Good thing that even though Kaige is confuse about my action, he chose not to follow me. His presence is really the last thing that I need right now. I am anxious and scared at the moment, and him confronting me why I am running away from him would be the last thing that I want to deal with in this early morning.
