Chapter 2: Well damn

After a long, yet rather exciting few minutes of selecting my wishes that'll align with my future goals, I've settled on:

1. A system primarily focused on technological advancements, eternally loyal and accessible only to me.

2. Resources and knowledge believed to be fiction, to be integrated into my system in the form of a shop.

3. A reasonable resistance to harmful substances, chemicals, and radiation.

"These are the wishes I've chosen, R.O.B.," I say with a look of anticipation.

"Hmmm... although wise in the long run, you'll encounter numerous challenges if you opt for such worlds as you're currently considering, child," the Being remarks.

"I'd advise you to choose wisely."

"I understand, R.O.B. Instead of venturing into such... perilous realms, I prefer a tranquil existence where I can nurture a civilization from its infancy," I say with a slight chuckle.

"A rather commendable choice. One that many in your position wouldn't make. Many would crave power beyond conventional means, an abundance of women at their beck and call, yet you opt for the peaceful path—a path that not only benefits you but also those you encounter along the way," the being says in a cryptic yet amused tone.

"You will truly be an unending source of entertainment," the being says with a hint of amusement.

"Glad to be of assistance," I reply, my tone laced with sarcasm.

The Being chuckles and says, "Truly a source of entertainment, haha. Now, let's get on to picking your world and appearance, shall we?"

"For the world, I'd much rather prefer a place where I can build it from the ground up if possible… somewhere entirely new," I say, expressing my desire for something new.

"Maybe with a tinge of fantasy? Like dwarves and whatnot, and maybe the occasional dragon or proportionally large bear that'll attack me when I first arrive?"

"Hmm, a fantasy world that's fantasy, yet not at the same time…I see…" the being says, considering my request.

"How about world C-J-163819V?"

"It's a relatively new world, only a few hundred thousand years old, yet nearly four times the size of your old planet, habitable, and has the occasional large animals, few dragons, and some fantasy races."

"Only downside seems to be due to the fact that their earth's magic is... dying, you could say," the being says with a grin, as if hoping I'd pick this world.

Noticing the subtle shift in the being's demeanor when mentioning the last few words, I decide to skip on this one.

"Are there any other worlds? Maybe one without the dying magic?" I ask, my tone indicating my skepticism.

The Being, realizing its failed attempt to quickly gain amusement, simply sighs and says, "I was rather hoping you'd fall for that one… they usually do. But yes, I do, in fact, have multiple worlds similar, without the apparent lack of magic," the being says in an annoyed voice.

"World D-L-19171691Q boasts similar qualities to the previous one, with the added bonus of its magic not dying, but rather remaining at a low level. This means the strongest creatures inhabiting that realm are dragons. The only possible downside I could find is that it's mostly comprised of water, with 29 rather large habitable landmasses hosting the occasional kingdom or two," the being explains.

After thinking over my options, I've decided to choose this world. Why start somewhere increasingly difficult when I could create my own tutorial?

"I choose this world, R.O.B.," I say confidently.

With a clap, R.O.B. responds, "Perfect!"

"Now, onto your appearance!" R.O.B. exclaims with a newfound sense of excitement.

With a snap of its fingers, a pen and paper with the words [Appearance] written in bold and seemingly ever-changing colors appeared in front of me. As if on instinct, I immediately began writing down my ideal new appearance.

"Hmm, I think this should suffice for the new world," I say confidently, feeling satisfied with my chosen appearance.

"Yes, changing your weight and muscle percentage, you'll surely bring untold amounts of exciting new things, child," R.O.B. says in an amused tone, barely able to contain his smile.

"Now, off you go! Let's see how far you'll go."

And just like that, the blinding light, flora, everything disappeared, leaving me in a void before I could even react.

15 minutes later...

"Why am I still in the void?" I think out loud.

And then, suddenly, that oh so sweet, welcoming ding echoes through the void, with the only possible culprit being the blue luminous screen floating in front of me.

"Hmm, it seems my muscle percentage truly did play a part in my system's starter stats, huh? What a gamble, I guess," I muse to myself, feeling surprised by the outcome.

"Lifting strength of 140lb... in one hand... with ease... it seems I've truly lucked out, hahaha!"

"Speed of 19mph? Not bad, not bad at all."

"Enhanced memory alongside other multipliers. This system seems to be a rather big help... Let's check out the other functions," I say.
