Because the village wasn't so big Vernox immediately crossed over a hundred metres in three seconds and jumped over the wooden fence of the village and stood, halting his movements.

He stopped as he looked at the creature that wasn't up to two hundred metres away.

"Even if I am confident in my strength I need to know the creature's strength." Vernox said, using his eyes of domination to bring up the stats of this creature.

[Corrupted human - Once a human. He was infected by the dark energy from another corrupted and was doomed to become one of them and indeed he became one.

Vernox furrowed his brows as he saw the status screen. He was confused by almost everything on the screen so he decided to ask a certain someone about what is there.

"Hey Ariel. Can you explain how the corrupted are?!"

[The corrupted are just creatures who got affected by the curse that spread in the middle of the continent you are on.

When a creature is affected, they will be immediately consumed by dark emotions which were already of the creature. The curse can be spread by bite, or by scratch. Also the creatures have no intelligence because of the curse.

The Corrupted have their own rankings which are Dark soldier, Dark warrior, Dark knight, Dark general, Dark king and so on.

The dark soldier is as strong as a soul specialist, the dark warrior is as strong as a soul master and so on.]

Vernox has never been happy to have a heavenly guide by his side. Turns out that he really needs her.

Seems like the corrupted were just like the zombies in movies that he watched.

"Thanks a lot." Vernox said as he stretched his sword outwards, preparing for battle.

His heart was pounding faster and faster as the corrupted came closer and closer.

He didn't know whether it was fear or excitement. If he was still a human then he might run away but the previous Vernox of this world was fearless and his own humanly cowardness was resurfacing.

"In fact. What's there to fear? I have superior stats, and the system will give a reward." He smiled, his confidence and bravery then surfaced again as he charged towards the creature in his sight.

Seeing the human coming at it the corrupted growled and jumped in the air towards Vernox.

Vernox didn't jump too and just continued running forward normally. As the creature reached two metres in front of him and swing it's hand which had elongated finger nails.

Vernox was seeing the slash coming fast but with high agility points he was able to move his head backwards, dodging the attack by an inch.

Vernox raised his sword with force and cleaved the creatures arm off.

"CRAAAA... ACK*

As the creature fell down and started shouting weirdly Vernox had no choice but the slash at the throat immediately to silence it.

Vernox stood up straight with pride. This thing that all those demons was afraid of was put down by him quickly.

Actually they weren't afraid of the corrupted but the fact that they can spread the curse to other creatures.

Immediately Vernox killed the first one he received a notification.

"What's this?!" Vernox exclaimed as he saw that he has killed only one of fifteen. Since the system counted the creatures then it couldn't be wrong.

Turning to his side, to his horror, Vernox saw a lot of Corrupted dashing out of the bushes and running towards his direction.

He immediately counted that they were thirteen of them and one wasn't among them.

"Looks like I'll have to use my Rune magic in this situation." He said sadly while his eyes were beaming with excitement.
