12. Damien VS snake dragon (2): One strike

The soldiers behind Damien heard this and noticed that the white dragon hasn't interfered since suddenly moved towards the snake.

And so the battle begun. Rako dived towards the snake suddenly and opened its jaws, revealing a set of saw like teeth. A white beam of light shot out of its mouth straight towards the snake dragon.

The light landed in front of the snake, blinding it for a few seconds.

This second was enough for Damien to fly towards it at superb speed. Damien knew that his strength isn't enough to cut the hard scales so he used a skill called reinforce to make his body stronger and to boost his strength. In a second, he reached the neck of the snake dragon.

'I only get one shot at this' Damien thought as he readied his sword for the attack he was about to launch.

Damien became a blur as he passed the snake's head and then hovered in the air behind the snake, holding his sword that had a blue blade that blood dripped from now.

The guards and all the people watching were stunned, Damien passed it but nothing happened.

All of a sudden, a red line appeared on the snake's neck and it's head seperated from its body and fell to the floor.

Damien was dizzy after that attack and fell. Rako, the white dragon caught Damien on its head and carried the body of the snake before flying towards the castle.

The guards, civilians, and every other people were all shocked. That was a soul emperor monster.

It was known to all in this world that monsters on the same level as humans were twice as strong as those humans of their level and monsters on the same level as demons were 50% more powerful than demons on their level.

The demon price said it's going to be a challenge but... The fight ended in a few minutes.

The snake didn't even get the chance to use it's poison on anyone. As for where the great white dragon was taking the body of the snake, no one knows.

Damien felt very exhausted. The reason he was able to defeat this creature is that he has studied them before.

Those snake dragon's scales are anti magic, meaning that magic spells cannot hurt it.

Damien the used his mental strength to power up his demon sword and increase his physical strength for a few seconds, but that few seconds was enough for him to get a clean strike.

"You did good Rako." Damien said in a low voice.

The dragon, feeling that his master is weak growled in worry.

"Don't worry I'm alright. I just need some rest."

Damien stood up and jumped into the balcony that he jumped from before while Rako went back into the summoning portal that was still open.

All the people below in the kingdom started rejoicing as they have been saved.

The people that was in front of the castle just stared at the place that the snake dragon was in a daze.

The creature that was Almighty just now was put down with one slash. That was too absurd!

The fact that the snake dragon was a soul emperor at the advanced level and Damien was able defeat it in a minute came as a shock to them.

Meanwhile, white haired Claire was behind the group was wondering if Vernox will be able to defeat Damien with this kind of strength.

Vernox who has been riding for more than seventeen hours and he finally got to his second destination.

Turns out he didn't need to make a stop at the first place he planned and came directly to the second place 'The lich village'.

Surprisingly, he didn't encounter any danger on his way here. It seems that rogue monsters don't gather on the path to Azure.

The lich village wasn't too big, the gates were just made out of wood and was not so safe for them.

Seeing Vernox riding slowly towards the gates the skeletons that were beside the gates, their eyes lit up a blue light as they pointed their spears towards Vernox.

Vernox didn't slow down at all and kept the horse moving slowly while smiling smugly.

Seeing the red horns on Vernox's head the liches put down their spear and opened up the gates for him.

Vernox didn't say anything and just nodded towards the guards at the gate.

He went to a stable and left his horse there, he had to pay a whole fifty charol to leave his horse there, which was by no means little.

The village was not so big, it should be a land of five hundred square metres that this village will take.

After a while Vernox finally located an inn and rented a room for the night. The room didn't cost much, probably because the inn was not of high quality.

These lesser demon villages were not a lot on this continent. There were only a few and the demon kingdom Azure still considered them as demons were demons.

Vernox also knew that at some point, he would need to unite the five supreme demon races; the dragon kins, the vampires, the dark elves, the werewolves and the cubus race; Succubus and incubus.

"I should think about that later." Vernox said as he pulled his clothes and laid on his bed tiredly.

"Now for some sleep. Fifth day in this world is going smoothly, it wasn't easy to pretend to be the demon prince." Vernox said. At least he could get some rest now.

Vernox then brought up the skill that he got from the mystery box earlier.

[Eyes of dominion(active)-

      -Has the ability to inflict fear upon targets.

- Can activate when the user's emotions get out of control.

- Can freeze weaker enemies on the spot

- Can cause weak victims to see illusions

- Can see a Target's stats

      Sub-spells (Can only be used when the eyes of dominion is activated)

- Time stop(Active): Gives the user the ability to stop time for a short period. (Can be activated at will)

Currently- 20 seconds.

-The skill can only be used once a week; using it more than once in a week will cause permanent blindness.

- Using the skill more than the given time shall cause the user temporary blindness that will last for three years.

Gaze of terror(Active): Set your target on fire with just a look, not normal flames but flames of the sun god 'Amatera'.

Was this a great skill or what?!

Even when Vernox first saw the skill he was overjoyed. Coupled with his swordmanship 20 seconds was enough to deal with a powerful enemy.

Or when he might be in danger, 20 seconds was enough to escape anything.

The side effects of using the sub skill of the 'Eyes of dominion' were quite scary. 'Blindness for three years', Vernox didn't know how it would sound for other people but for him... It was no biggie.

While in the room Vernox started hearing some noises outside.

"Ahhhh...please!!!" A loud voice echoed around the village.

"She's a human burn her!!!"

Annoyed, Vernox stood up from the bed and went to the window to see who disturbed his beauty sleep.

Vernox saw a young girl with long black hair and red eyes being tied to a pole by the skeletons and some other demons.

"It... it can be!"

He immediately recognized this girl and he ran out of the room in excitement and fear.
