Alice’s POV
I have never heard of a sound of calls like emergency calls from the department. Although I have been present in the office to finish some reports and conduct my research investigation. After all the incidents we encountered, I can say that taking a break became an optional solution for us. It is hard to just lay in bed and remember how disastrous the outside can be, and people cannot just deny that.
The two corners in my mouth rise whenever I see my mom cook meals for us; that part has never been out of my sight and story. My mom’s specialty is preparing the ingredients, the materials needed, and the knowledge and skills to make delicious and mouthful foods.
“You are up already, Alice. Are you going to the department today?” My mom asked even though she was not looking at me. I went to approach her from behind and gave her a back hug.
“Good morning, mom. I have to check some files from the department but do not worry, it will not take long.”
