Renegade Jenny (Pokemon Fanfic)

Policewoman dies upholding her values that have been passed on by her mentor and is reincarnated in the world of Pokémon with no cheats and knowledge of the games or anime but even that had not been that helpful to her in her new duties. After many losses of her Pokémon, many injuries and finally a death, she somehow finds herself back to the time of the officer exams where she received her first Pokémon. Twice engulfed in flames, twice dying for the cause and facing hardships but before her second death, she declared. ‘No more! If I survive this then I will no longer live like this!’ When she awoke, she decided to no longer stick to her principles that were taught to her by her mentor as it only brought her pain and she did not receive what she had earned through her self sacrifice. I do not claim to own Pokémon, its plot or characters but there are some changes I may make to the original story and add my own characters. Dojo Rules

Kimi was finished with her own exercises and had watched over the others afterwards but her time of resting and peace was shortly interrupted.

A girl that was a similar age as her had walked towards her and had an unfriendly attitude towards Kimi the moment that they had locked eyes.

The girl was dressed in a similar training uniform as Kimi and had her black hair tied up but she had a different coloured belt around her waist than what Kimi was wearing.

The girl was shown by her belt that she was a higher ranking in the karate dojo than Kimi who was still a new member that had an ordinary belt around her waist rather than a coloured one.

The girl did not bother to introduce herself and confronted Kimi right away. "You should leave. I have seen many like you over the years and your kind lack what it takes to be a member of this dojo."

The surrounding people in the dojo had looked over and had let out a sigh before commenting among themselves. "Yeesh.."

"There she goes again."

"Another newbie is getting scolded."

"Hopefully she does not scare away another member."

"If the newbies lack the ability to handle that then how can they survive the more difficult situations they would have to face later?"

Hearing the words of those around her, Kimi had come to understand a thing or two about her situation. "What do you mean by someone like me?"

The girl had frowned upon hearing Kimi answer back then answered. "Someone like you is just passing through and you are not serious about Karate at all. You are lacking in discipline and are not cut out for this place."

She felt that she had explained well enough and believed that Kimi would run away like many others or would try to put up some weak defence against her.

There had been many that registered for the dojo and there had been some skilled individuals that showed up over the years.

The main issue with that was that a lot of people did not put in the required efforts that were required or those with the talent had not stuck around for long.

Some talents would have been nurtured by the dojo but their loyalties lied elsewhere or they did not prioritise the dojo so they often left once they got what they needed.

There were times when the instructors had paid special attention to some talents only for the talents to leave without warning so there were people that had lost out on that time and support that could have been given to them.

The lack of talents in martial arts or trainers that had stronger fighting Pokémon were what had let the fighting dojo degrade a lot over the years which had eventually led to them being unable to be recognised as a gym.

Kimi showed that she was able to quickly pick up the moves and was quickly adapting to everything so it showed that she either had excellent talent or had practiced martial arts at other places.

Usually those that arrived from other dojos or that were passing through had been the ones to learn what they needed before leaving to visit another similar place like their dojo.

Martial arts or Pokémon challenges were a common event so there would always be people entering for such purposes while others had entered to take what was needed from their dojo to hone their own style of combat.

The main issue was that while they did pick up the forms and fighting strategies, there were those that had not learned basic parts of repetition and were lacking the discipline that their dojo had been teaching their students.

Kimi was just another person that had some talent and was able to learn quickly but once she had got what she needed, she would be the one to leave the dojo.

To the girl, those types of people were lacking in discipline and were disloyal so those that she had spotted with similar traits had been chased away by her.

If they tried to fight back then she would put them in their place and if they continued to show up then depending on their attitude, she would either put more pressure on them until they cracked or would come to accept them.

Kimi thought to herself on how she would clear up the misunderstanding. 'I kind of get where she is coming from but I cannot just take this on my first day.'

Kimi had to admit that she did have some traits that may have stood out to others since she practiced other martial arts in her past lives.

The habits that had been learned from them would have remained even when getting used to the karate forms so it would have looked like she was from another dojo and was just passing through after learning some things.

Kimi was aiming to improve her physical fitness so the dojo was the best place to achieve that so that was why she had joined upon entering Saffron City, it was unknown how long she would stay with the dojo in the future but it would be unpleasant to face the same treatment everyday just because of that.

She was prepared to attend the dojo regularly when she was in Saffron City which meant that so long as she did not journey elsewhere, there was no need for others to worry about her being disloyal to them or not making enough efforts.

Even if Kimi did not wish to dedicate her time to the dojo which was lower on her list of priorities, she did not feel that she should be judged or bothered for it so she had responded. "What will it take for you to to just let me practice without being bothered?"

If such treatment continued then it would interfere with her training and affect her overall mood so she wished to settle things quickly.

The girl opposite her had shown a smile suddenly. "Oh? You want to take the easy way out huh? Fine then.. beat me in both martial arts and in a battle then I will not bother you anymore. What? Are you lacking in confidence now?"

Kimi thought to herself. 'You should have just said this sooner..'

She then nodded as she had pointed towards Growlithe. "I assume that the dojo rules are in effect for battles correct?"

The girl had paused for a moment upon understanding that Kimi had known more than most so she had responded. "Ahem.. yes. One on one battles for both of them and no use of other moves."

There was still a look of confidence in her eyes as she looked down towards Growlithe. 'She may have some confidence in her Growlithe but she cannot use her fire type moves so she will soon learn that winning will not be so easy.'
