Another Task

Kimi left the Karate Dojo and went off to continue with her usual activities while the Karate Masted handled the rest of the previous problem.

After caring for her Pokemon providing them with food, treats and grooming, she did a little self care for herself.

She got changed into a new pair of clothes then headed out followed by Growlithe who trailed behind her.

After getting so far out of the city, she placed her hand over her ear and spoke. "What do you have for me this time?"

Old P's voice was heard from the device in her ear. "Hmm… no big jobs but there is something I could use your help with."

Kimi knit her brows and asked. "What is it?"

Old P continued to explain. "You see, I usually try to monitor a lot of bigger corporations in order to check if they have anything suspicious going on. Unfortunately there are quite a few that I can no longer approach."

Kimi nodded. "Hmm.. I see what you mean."

Different corporations were usually involved in many projects that were well known to the public but they had secret projects too.

The secret projects were usually confidential due to their nature and for self protection to prevent leaks.

It was their right to not let others know what they were working on but there still needed to be a degree of transparency with different authorities in order to prevent any ethics or laws from being violated.

Old P was used to infiltrating companies and investigating for any problems.

He was able to understand a lot of what others were working on so he could determine if a project was safe or not.

Once his job was done, he would disappear from the work place along with removing the identity he was using then his team would come in to handle the rest.

If he did not need to be there in person then he at least needed to hack into the main or secondary hardware in order to obtain the data.

The problem was that not all corporations kept their projects saved and updated on hardware that was connected to the internet or had various measures in place to protect their information.

If they were really protective of their information then they would either use paper and filing to work cutting them off from the dangers of being hacked or they would choose to keep their computers from being able to leak such valuable or compromising information.

The only way to obtain that information was to discover where it was being stored in its paper form or to appear in person to gain access into the system.

Unfortunately Old P was much too old and needed to be more careful about where he appeared.

If there were others still looking for him then it would not be good for him to appear within such places.

Kimi understood what he meant right away. "You want me to help you gain remote access?"

If Kimi could affect the system with a virus or trojan then it was possible to let Old P gain control over it which would allow him deeper access into the network.

Since Pokemon were involved, it made things even more complicated since they could play a much larger role to affect the way things were done.

Old P was pleased that he did not have to waste any words and replied in a softer tone. "That is right. This task is not too difficult since you only need to enter the building and use the equipment that is within the main entrance."

Kimi responded. "Is there a danger of being discovered?"

Old P sighed. "There is always some risk involved but with me, the odds are way lower. I have done this many times before."

Kimi was unsure about it but realised that if she did not trust in him then it would be difficult for them to maintain their current relationship. "Alright then where am I supposed to be going this time?"

Old P responded. "It is very close to you actually. Silph Corporation is our target. There has been a lot of secrecy between several companies recently. Among them is Silph Corporation which has been especially secretive recently."

Kimi responded calmly despite her disturbed emotions. "I see.. Silph Corporation huh? I will do it."

As she hung up, her red eyes begun to glow with determination. 'It seems that I cannot simply avoid some matters.'

Although Kimi had knowledge of various parts of the world she was living in, there was little she could do with it in her previous life as Kimi Jenny.

Any investigations that would involve any bigger problems were left to those of a higher position so she could not gain opportunities to show off that knowledge or attempt to crack down on some future events she knew would take place.

Most became the achievements of others while Kimi was forced to slowly work her way up the ranks with a lot of difficulty.

One piece of information she could not make use of was related to Silph Corporation so she did not expect Old P to want to look into Silph Corporation too.

Since their interests alligned, Kimi could not reject such a task.
