Remilitarization.

Disclaimer: Plot and writing may go all over the place. I revised the story as of March 25th. I also added breaks in chapters to represent a long duration of time or a change in perspective. In the world of Oyerat, life continues for the people living there. Many battles were fought, exterminated, and won. Tsutomu Fukumoto is an admirer of military tech. Always giving him ease on his mind during free time while working. However, a mishap happened during his life, and it made him wake up in a world that looks different. However, it's not the typical world that Tsutomu imagined. Once a lifeless Commander of private military, now turned into an unknown person in the new world with no history, knowledge, or fame. That world he set on enveloped him from every direction with its earth-like features. Tsutomu met someone in the world, and both realized that they have no goals, future, or anything in mind. In the beginning, he suppressed his past for now, but for how long? The story cover is not mine.

"Friends"

A/N: I'm feeling good. Hopefully, my rewrites will turn out decent, at least.

"Bravo Fife and Hector seven is completely surrounded. In fact, we are surrounded." You say as you stare at the AC-130, causing havoc from above.

"That's Air Avenger Four right there."

"Really? I thought they were destroyed in the war back then?" You wondered, how is it still alive?

"Command filed an MIA report before they gained radio contact with Air Avenger Four again. That's probably the reason why it's dead." You definitely haven't thought of that.

"I heard that there was some issue with our Commander's father." You were kind of shocked.

"Really? The security forces are capable of defending against everything?"

"Don't ask me. That's how it works. Also, do your thing. Air Avenger Four is needing more."

"Roger, roger." You laughed as you looked into your night vision scope.

You looked into your scope, hoping to find anything nice. Then, you found something. You see a T-90 lying in that garage over there. Four soldiers appear to be fixing it up for combat. There it is, you thought.

"Grid 1473 1973." You say.

"Got it."

"Air Avenger Four, this is Mongoose Echo Four, Location GRID 1473 1973, OVER."

You listened to the radio as you continue to look at that T-90 and the surrounding enemies.

"Mongoose Echo Four, this is Air Avenger Four, Location GRID 1473 1973. Over."

"Air Avenger Four, You're correct, Out."

As you looked into the scope, you can hear the booming sounds of the AC-130 tremoring through your body and the ground you're on.

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. BRRRRRT.

"Good impacts, good impacts, continue to engage." You hear the JTAC relaying information to the AC-130 above."

You see the whole area getting impounded by the fury of explosions and bullets. All of what you could see is covered with smoke and dirt from the ground. You can't even recognize the tank and the houses nearby anymore.

"Alright..." I look at Satomi. "you will be my greatest responsibility in this world."

"Okay!" I saw her smiling at me. That smile of hers is really starting to break me down. She went back to finishing that chicken soup I've made out of thin air. I don't think she knows that already. I look at the town that still is erupting dark smoke into the air. Gee, I wonder how the heck that's still happening?

I lay back on the tree beside her and grab the glass tablet. "What's that?" She asks. I look at Satomi and saw that she's looking at the glass tablet I'm holding. "Well..." Seeing that she's a lost child, I could try to cheer her up. "it's magic."

"Woah!" She exclaims. "Are you one of those magicians from the stories, Sayuri? They can do a ton of things! Like, help people and are nice to others! It's like you!" Magician? "Well, kind of." I guess I'm a magician in her eyes.

On the reflection of the glass tablet, I can still see her staring at it with confusion. "This thing can do a lot of things." Well, it does everything. "Really?" She says. "Yes, it can do a lot, Satomi."

"Cool!" I pick up my S1. I lay down on the ground parallel to her. I steady my sights on that tree in front of us. I breathe... never mind. I will not gonna do that to her. "What are you doing?" She questions me.

"I'm just practicing, not much," I reply. I lay back on the tree again. "Is that how magicians do their powers?"

"Uh... no."

"Aw..." I hear her sigh.

I just can't put up with this facade anymore. "Satomi, I'm not a magician. But, you can say that I'm powerful." I see her pouting at me. "You're powerful! B-but.... okay..."

"Sorry, Satomi." I saw her eating the last bits of the chicken soup. "You're such a meanie." Hearing her with her mouth stuffed... I just feel bad now. How did she do that..?

"I-I'm sorry! You don't need to be sad!" My right arm holds her.

Hearing her breathe a sigh of relief, "It's alright. Sayuri." She smiles at me once again. Oh my god! I just can't bear it!

"Oh-kay! Before we go to that town nearby, you will have to be dressed up." I look at her tattered clothing. "Y-yes, my clothing!" She says, looking visibly a bit embarrassed.

I have an idea, just make some changing room in the middle of nowhere! "Um... I can just change here..." I see her fidgeting. I quickly pick up the glass tablet, dashed my fingers up, left, down, right, everywhere on the screen. The ground vibrates, I look up from the glass tablet, and I see a one-user changing booth. It's basically a portable changing booth that I just searched up on the fly. I look down at the tablet again, and I'm thinking about what she would wear... I feel someone tugging on my tunic. "H-hey, did you do that, Sayuri?" I continued staring at the transparent glass. What the heck is she gonna wear? "Not yet, I'm thinking."

"I'm talking about that tall thing!" She shouted in my ear. Ouch. "It's the changing room, just for you." I continued staring at the screen. "O-oh, thank you." She sounds satisfied. I just realized we're both females? Never mind... I wouldn't want to change in the middle of nowhere.

Should she wear the same thing I'm wearing? I unhook the chin straps, took off my helmet, and examined it. If I recall in my history, this is probably a german helmet from the World Wars. It's maybe the second one as there are three. I don't want to know about the third one. That Remilitarization thing is still irritating in my head.

Swiping to some random things on the tablet, I hear Satomi making some sounds with the spoon and the bowl from the chicken soup I've made. Not bad beats.

As I wander through Material Formulation, I got the idea of seeing the things in the world from it. Just like I did with Satomi with healing. Aha! I went through some directories and managed to find what I'm wearing. "Wehrmacht - Heer - M40". The folders inside of it are basically the components of the uniform. Alright! I got the data that I've needed. I remembered that there was some duplication button in the editing of the Quick Access Toolbar. Looking at Satomi, she's just taking a nap on the tree... she looks adorable... ahem, I think I'm a bit taller than her? Anyways, it should fit, right? I don't know unless I try it out. I realized that there's a duplicate to size button because it's apparel. How convenient, One. I tap the button, boop.

On my lap appeared the uniform I'm wearing. That's some weight, but it's not much. Comparing it to modern uniforms, it pales in comparison. Like, by a small margin. But it's definitely heavy when in combat. However, soldiers today drop their racks or something during marching and other things. Still, it's a lot in weight.

To spice things up, I shall make an armband. United Nations has failed in preventing Remilitarization. I really hate them for that. But, I'm the one who caused it. I... just made the thing I hate happen. I know that I can make things from this world as I don't know what "Adventurer's Guild" or "Crystallite Foundries" is when I search up some things in the Oyerat directory. I don't know if I can merge things, but I will try. There's always a button for everything. I combine the emblem of the United Nations with a top-down view of the world of Oyerat and a blue armband. Whew! One for me and one for Satomi. Looking at the emblem in the preview, is that what Oyerat looks like? Nice! On the tap of a button, I create the armband, and it looks spectacularly high quality on its own. I rub my hands over it, and it feels so smooth..!

I slide the armband up my right arm, and I feel like I'm a UN inspector. I'm here to inspect how fantasy this world is! Haha! I'm just kidding. I won't really do that, maybe... just maybe.

On another thought, can I just make her wear the clothing instantly? Is it possible? I don't know... but I will try to see if it's possible with the glass tablet I have. Looking at Satomi again, she's just quietly sleeping there. H-how cute!

After exploring the options of Material Manipulation, I finally found it. In theory, if I can direct where the things are made, I can probably make it on her. Yes! That would work!

I move towards the left side of the tree, delete the uniform, the blue armband, and remove her clothing with the ability. I then duplicate my uniform onto her with some proper adjustments. Hopefully, I don't see her naked with just the uniform on top of her. All bets on hope! After I do all of those things that I did... I look over to my right...

She's in the uniform! Oh god! I can't believe I've done it! My guess is we aren't using the changing room after all, so I remove it from this world entirely. Snapped.

She looks kind of good in that. Child soldier. Oh god. What the heck did I just say that in my mind? Nevermind!

Whew. Everything is done for now. I guess. I lay beside Satomi, and I just look towards that forest. Hm, let's wake her up. Shall we, S1?

I lay down on the ground, I looked into the scope, and I breathe...

Enhaling the fine air of Oyerat.

In goes the air. Hearing the wind flowing through my eardrums.

BOOM.

I can see wood shards bursting out of the exit hole. Some dirt on the tree fell as I continue looking through the scope.

"Ah!" I hear someone screaming behind me.

I quickly lay back on the tree, and I look at her. "Are you fully awake now?" "Yes..!" She's saying it with some anger. "You don't have to do that!" She hammered on my right arm with her two hands.

For each strike, it's getting weaker, then eventually stopping, and she lay her head on me. "That was a quick burst you have." I see her fixated on the blue armband that I'm wearing. She looks at her clothing and sees the blue armband that she's wearing.

"What's the blue thing?"

"You mean the blue armband?"

"Yes."

"Well... It shows what country we're from."

"What's that country, Sayuri? I don't think I come from that country, but Skoaria." She questions me.

"Let's just say that we're from the Unified States."

"Unifed Stahtes?" Jumbling on her words.

"Unified States."

"Unified States!"

"Yup, that's correct, Satomi."

"Yes!" She cheered.

"Okay... I guess we'll go now." She looked at me and just stood up. Pretty sure that she realizes what she's wearing by now.

Standing up, I feel my legs getting a refresh with fresh blood. Urgh. It just feels weird.

"Umm... did you see anything?" She lilted.

"See what?"

"M-my body..." I hear her mumbling.

"Nope, I just put it on there."

"H-how!? Stop lying!" She stutters.

How the heck am I supposed to prove that? "I have magic."

"Where's my other one?" I can see her looking around the tree and the surrounding area. I think she's talking about her torn clothing.

"I removed it from this world." I see her staring at me with her sparkling blue eyes.

"Fine....." I mean, I don't have anything to prove it besides magic or something.

"Thank you." Her smile is visibly showing that she's really thankful. Oh. My. God. Just looking at it is in the form of pain and comfort.

I pick up the glass tablet from the ground, and I have some idea. I don't know what idea that is, but it's just weird.

The idea popped up. I think I have an idea!

I'm gonna insert some marksman knowledge into Satomi. How dangerous would that be?

Now, what would this ability be? Brain Alter-

"What are you doing, Sayuri?"

I look at Satomi from the Glass Tablet, "I'm gonna try something."

"Try what?"

"You will be capable."

She's confused. Well, I don't know what I'm saying. "Just wait."

"Okay!" I see her walk around the area, just crouching down on some simple things. Alright.

I looked down at the tablet. I scratched my head, "Brain Alteration."

This is highly controversial. Brain Alteration? I cannot just insert some gun skills without her experiencing it. I don't think her body can handle it, let alone mines. Grrrrr... I will do it.

The UI of Brain Alteration looks to be quite similar to Material Formulation. That's lucky. Pretty sure other applications are like this too. I cannot really be doing this, right?

Alright. I will be doing it!

In the menus and the directories, I can see her memories, everything. Interesting. I decide on one memory which is the time before when I met Satomi here. Was it around 12:30? I think so. On the top-right of the tablet, there's a date and time. It uses Earth's calendar. Does this world use the calendar back on Earth? If so, I don't know how the Romans got here.

I view one of the memories that Satomi has. I can see what she sees in the events that she experienced. I think she's under some boxes in a monastery, peeking through the holes in the box. Rewinding back, one of the nuns told her to be quiet. I didn't know that there's audio on this glass tablet, as I can hear children crying, nuns talking, and people screaming outside. I fast-forward and see her running past slain bodies of people. They're all dead on the stone streets of the town. After breaking free from her captors, who were trying to beat her and rape her at the same time. Wow. Just watching it disgusts me. After all of that, I cannot believe that she manages to escape that carnage down at Hillford. Probably into the forest.

I looked at Satomi in just pure shock. She's just sitting on the grass out there. Dang. She made it through all of that. I guess the things in this world are cruel as in our world.

This is a big problem for me. Do I keep the memory within? It's hard. So hard. Ultimately, I must decide... to remove it. Screw that. I'm getting rid of her past memories, all of her memories. She has something that I don't. I'm giving it to her. I just don't want her to suffer the same that I'm having.

She will have the best marksmanship this world will ever see. I push her mental age a bit forward and made her entirely faithful to me. As it is, I don't really like a dangerous sharpshooter targeting me at every moment in this world. Sorry. All on a tap of a button. Dang. It's ironic as pushing an update for a social media app in the modern age.

Here goes nothing. I pushed the button that confirms everything. The ability will do everything that I've asked for.

I immediately look at Satomi. I keep on staring at her for a couple seconds before she looks at me. Then, she has some puzzled look.

"Sayuri, is there something you need?" She spoke in a melodious voice. Woah... I think she's somehow cuter?

I avert my gaze, "No. I will be giving you something. Hold on." I looked down at the tablet.

"Okay!" I hear her shout in the distance.

Typed in "HK416C", a reliable weapon. All-round capabilities. Short barrel, collapsible buttstock, rails for multiple sighting systems, and other accessories. Short-stroke gas piston system. Effective weapons platform. It's a weapon made for Satomi. A small figure, compatible gun. I'm such a weapons specialist! I wouldn't want to go against her in close environments, especially house to house. I don't think she has skills in hand-to-hand combat.

On creation, it looks so fantastic! Another weapon to create in this medieval world! Hoho! I grab it, and aim down its iron sights, and fired a single shot at that broken-down tree.

BANG.

I fired it, and it sent out a nice burst of air throughout my body. Nice!

"Is that the Hk416!?" She shouts behind me.

I look back at her, "Yes! How do you know!?" I yelled back.

"It sounds nice!" Okay...

"Alright! I will take that as a valid answer!"

"Okay!!!"

I walked towards her and gave her the HK416C. She's just eyeing that weapon for a while.

"It's the small one! T-thanks!" She smiles at me. Oh. God.

"Yes. No problem. Come with me."

"Alright!"

Walking towards the tree, I'm thinking about how to carry that S1... a sling would work. Did some work on the tablet. By the time we got there, there was already a sling attached to the S1.

Carrying it on my back, it's almost like three-fourths of my height. I'm probably exaggerating, but it's pretty big. How inconvenient. Why did I make such a heavy weapon for me? I almost fell down when I'm putting it on my back.

I picked up the six magazines on the ground and hand them to Satomi, "You will be needing this."

"Thank you."

"No problem."

While holding the magazine for the S1, the .50 caliber is freaking huge compared to my hand. It's also very hefty. I insert my two mags into one of the bags of this German webbing. Hm, how German can it get?

Nevermind.

Looking at the glass tablet, I made some essentials for our equipment. It consists of entrenching tool, first aid pouch, flashlights, canteens, an ATPIAL, rucksack, and a thermal sight device. All stored in the backpack. Two appear right in front of us.

"Is it from that thing?"

"Yes."

"Hmm?"

Looking at the town in front of us, which is still smoking, I have a great idea. So great! It's great. Hahaha! It's time to go there.

I huddled to Satomi, "You see that town over there?"

"Linton?" She mentioned.

"Um, yes, we will be going there," I remarked.

"Alright!" She enthusiastically agrees.

"Got everything?" I see Satomi looking around.

She looks back at me, "Yup!"

"Good to go. Let's follow the dirt road leading to the town called Linton."
