After Riley rescued me from my awkward and terrifying conversation with Colton, he obviously had tons of questions. I filled him in on everything that had happened and been said. I was grateful that he just listened and didn’t bombard me with I told you so’s. He spent the rest of the day distracting me from everything. I had shown him my necklace, which made him adorably happy, and then we had gone to an arcade.
It’s dark now and I’ve decided to go shopping with a little of the money my mom left for me in case of emergencies in preparation for tomorrow while Riley goes home and gets his stuff together to stay the night. I’m about to walk into the mall when I glance over to a dimly lit area beside the building and spot Ashford leaning against the brick wall at the side. He’s wearing the baseball cap I've seen him in a couple of times pulled down to cover his face, and he’s talking to some sketchy-looking guy.
