PROLOGUE

I couldn't help but hold back when I saw on TV the interview I was waiting for Lucas De Vera. My idol man since I was in high school.

Almost all women have wanted him since he was just starting his career in showbiz.

"Lucas! Marry me!" I shout in front of the TV.

"Kai, again. Away from the TV." I moved away from the flat-screen TV when Nova grabbed me and pulled me back slightly.

"Okay okay." I sat on the sofa but I still didn't lose sight of the TV. "He's really handsome! Doesn't he have a girlfriend yet? Lucas, make me your girlfriend!" I'm still screaming. "Lucas-" I was stunned when Nova suddenly stabbed the siopao in my mouth.

"You can't just say that in front of your husband." I took a bite of the siopao and just smiled at Nova. "That man is really famous, get over him already. He will never notice you anyway."

"You're really bitter, babe." I just said while listening to Lucas' interview. "Lucas doesn't seem to be getting older. Don't you think so?" I looked at Nova who was already sitting next to me. He avoided looking at me.

"Yeah. I- I noticed it too."

"Lucas is handsome, isn't he?" I leaned on him.

"Yeah." He just replied. I looked at him and smiled.

"But my husband is more handsome." I kissed his cheek once before I leaned back. "I like this," I said weakly.

I could feel him looking at me.

"Me and you. Watching TV." I also looked at him. "Alone. It feels like we have all the time in the world."

He looked from my lips to my eyes. I know that look. A desire in his eyes that I couldn't overlook. I really like those eyes because I know I'm the only one who can see these eyes.

I wrapped my arms around his nape as he kiss me gently.

"Nova ..."

"I think we won't be watching that interview."

"Mmm ..." he kissed me again but this time it was deep and sensational.

I could feel the pressure building up inside my body and his desire as he touched every inch of me. I kissed him with the same pressure.

The sensation in the air, I could feel it building up until ...

We heard Nova's phone ringing.

"Damn it!" I just said that and let Nova go.

"I'm sorry." I raised my hands as a sign of surrender.

Nova kissed my forehead before he answered the phone. He entered the room so he could talk to his boss quietly.

I sighed. This always happens.

Even when he's at home or day off he can't ignore his boss's call. After that call, he's going to leave.

"I'm leaving." He said after he got out of the room. He is already dressed. He kissed me on the lips first.

"Take care." I just said.

"I will."

He left.

Damn nerd. He can't ignore his boss! I feel like they are bullying my husband. That's possible. My husband is the kindest person I ever met, he avoids conflict and arguments with other people, I never saw him get angry before. He's smart though like a nerd.

His work? Research I guess? He always wore those lab clothes. So, I guess he's a researcher. I never get to understand his work because every time he explains it to me, my head hurts.

That's for marrying a smart person for you.

I just looked at the TV where Lucas was performing his new song. I sighed.

"Nova, why are you such a nerd?" I just asked myself.

I was shocked when I heard a loud bang coming from outside and it was followed by the shouts of the people. I was immediately alert and excited.

I was shocked when the houses started to explode and it was followed by a huge burning of blue flames.

I was thrown on the road when our house exploded and a blue flame engulfed it

"What's happening?!"

"Help!"

"Fire!"

All the people were purely shouting and running. I was supposed to stand but just now I noticed that a tree had hit my foot. I cried out in pain.

"Help!" I shouted but everyone ran away. There are many people on the road who, like me, cannot walk.

Some are bloody, some are dead. Red liquid on the road flows like a flood. I was humiliated by the smoke from it.

"Kai!" I stared at the person who arrived. I cried when I saw Nova.

"Nova!" He looked at me and then he looked at the house.

"Damn it!"

I was surprised at how suddenly he was cheap. He hasn't sworn yet. He looked at me and took his necklace and put it on me.

"Nova. What the-" he was about to leave towards the house but I held his hand. "Nova ?! What are you going to do ?!"

"I need to get something!"

"What ?! But the house is all on fire!" He shook my hand and continued to run into our burning house. "Nova! Nova!"

Then our house explodes once more. I lost consciousness of the impact it caused. When I woke up everything was gone. I can only see smoke from houses. It's dark too. It's already night.

"Nova?" I looked around and in front of me where our house was. I couldn't stop crying when I saw that there was nothing left. "Nova! Where are you ?!"

I could hear my own voice echoing through the place.

"Nova! Nova!"

"Helios Nova Armenia?" I was stunned when someone spoke behind me. I looked at the person.

"Yes! He's my husband! Do you know where he is?" A guy with a black lab coat. Is he friends with Nova?

"Then you must be Kaila Rivera?"

"Yes. Please, can you find my husband? He-He's the only one I got." I said tearfully. He walked over in front of me and sat down.

"Are you the Plunderer?" I was suddenly nervous at his question. I slowly looked at his face. I was shocked when I saw him wearing a mask as if he doesn't want me to see his face and suddenly I got the feeling that this man is no good.

"N-no."

"Liar."

Then I felt pain in my stomach when I looked at it. There's a metal pipe piercing through my stomach. The pipe came from his hand. I looked at the man's face again but I could no longer see it because of the blood coming out of my eyes.

He pushed me and I lay down on the cold cement road.

All I could see is the big moon getting bigger and bigger. It's like it is coming for me.

The moon? Will he take me now?

Am I going to die now? Is this it?

Now that I think about it, something similar happened to my family. They got burned by blue fire. I was afraid, so, I buried it inside my head. I never even try to find the culprit behind it but as it is now. The culprit from before must be with the guy that killed me or they are just the same person.

This is so unfair. I haven't even reached the climax of my relationship with Nova, I'm going to die right away.

Wait. Nova? Where is he anyway?

Did something bad happen to him?

Wait. He ran towards the house and it exploded.

Is he dead?

No way.

Let him live!

Please!

Nova!

Is this my curse?

Can I curse someone? Can I curse all the Gods? I want to curse them but I can't. I want to curse those people that didn't help but I can't because they are also scared.

Is this the curse of having a cursed ability?

If I accept this death will God forgive me? Will they lift this curse within me if I accept this death?

I want to accept it but I guess I still want to live.

I don't want to die yet!

Please, someone! Save me!

Then I saw red strings and then a blinding light. Then I heard a noise from people and a car noise.

"Hey! Hey! Sister, what's up?" I opened my eyes and looked around.

"What?"

"Come on! We still have to register at the school!" A shout from a girl. When I looked at her properly I was stunned.

It was Kiela. My little sister. My little sister died 10 years ago.
