Chapter 5: Risking it all

Leroy was still explaining the escape plan to me when the prison doors suddenly burst open, and immediately Tony, the future Alpha, came in accompanied by some guards.

"Leroy, what are you doing beside the prisoner?" Tony asked Leroy inquisitively.

"Nothing; I heard her screaming, so I decided to check out what was wrong with her." Leroy said this to Tony while distancing himself from me.

"You better be careful with the prisoners, especially her." Tony spoke to Leroy with a firm tone.

"Yes, future Alpha." Leroy replied before returning to his former position.

Once I saw him, I started boiling in anger. All I wanted was to shift into my wolf form and jump on him, tear him apart, and eat his heart right in front of him, but unfortunately, I couldn't due to the silver chain that was binding my leg.

"I hope you are enjoying your stay here." Tony asked me with a smirk on his face, but I remained silent.

"You can remain silent all you want, but I don't care. Also, pardon me and my father for keeping you waiting.

We have been busy recently; that's why we haven't arranged your execution, but we will do everything possible for it to happen tomorrow so that you can go and join your parents." Tony said this to me with a smirk on his face, and immediately my heart skipped.

"Why are you doing this to me?" "What have I ever done wrong against you to deserve this severe punishment from you and the Alpha? I asked him with tears already dropping from my eyes.

"Come on, Janet, spare me the crocodile tears." He said it to me without any emotion.

"You should have stopped your mom from coming here in order to report me to the Alpha, and you shouldn't have insulted me to the Future Alpha before everyone." He said this to me with a smirk on his face.

"Instead of wasting all your energy shedding crocodile tears, I will advise you to save them because tomorrow you will cry until there are no tears remaining in your eyes." He said it to me with a wicked grin.

"Once I'm back from my training tomorrow during sunrise, I will be delighted to end the sufferings of my beloved weak mate.

I know that you miss your parents, so you will finally go and join them." He said this to me while grinning ear to ear.

With that statement, I started shedding uncontrollable tears while thinking of what awaits me tomorrow.

Tony stared at me for a few minutes as I was sobbing.

When he got tired of looking at me, he turned and started heading outside.

Once he came out, he ordered Leroy to follow him and asked one of the guards who came with him to watch over the dungeon.

I sat down there, crying my eyes out, until I dozed off.

I was awakened the next morning by the unceasing tapping of Leroy.

"Hey, wake up, sleepy head; we are running out of time." Leroy said this to me as I was still scrubbing my face with my palm.

"Will you get up, or do you want the guards to catch up with us?" Leroy shoved me angrily as I was still delaying to stand up.

"Ok, ok, I have stood up already." I told him while trying to stand up.

"Take this; free yourself from the silver chains. You need to be in control of your powers if we are going to get out of here alive." Leroy said this to me while handing me a key.

Without hesitating, I immediately took the key and freed myself from the silver chains, and immediately I felt energized once again.

"Tricksy, are you there?" I asked my inner wolf.

"Yes, I'm here, Janet." She replied excitedly.

"Janet, put yourself together; this is not the time to be zooming off." Leroy said that once he noticed that I have a mind linked to my inner wolf,

"I'm sorry." I said to him once I jerked back to reality.

"Take this." He said this to me while handing me a sword.

"Kill anyone that stands in your way with it." He said this to me authoritatively while heading outside.

Without hesitating, I followed him from behind with my heart pounding heavily.

"Hey, stop right there." A voice echoed from behind.

Once we turned around, we saw that it was one of the guards.

When he noticed that Leroy was escaping with me, he immediately brought out his sword and started running towards us while alerting the other guards.

Without hesitating, Leroy brought out his sword, ran towards the guards, and struck him down within a twinkle of an eye.

"Janet, keep moving and stop staring at me like a ghost." Leroy said to me with an irritated tone as I was busy staring at him because of the speed with which he struck down the guard.

Without hesitating, I followed him from behind.

"Hey, stop right there." A voice ordered us from behind once again, and immediately we turned. We saw five guards coming from behind us.

As we tried to run, another set of guards blocked us from the opposite direction.

"Leroy, surrender right now and spare yourself the stress of dying a painful death." One of the guards commanded Leroy.

"I prefer to die while fighting rather than surrender." Leroy replied with a firm tone.

"Don't forget what I told you; strike down anyone who comes your way." Leroy commanded me while running towards the guards that were coming from behind us.

Once Leroy started running towards the guards that were on the opposite side, the other set of guards started approaching me.

"What am I going to do?" I questioned myself confusedly because I didn't know how to use a sword; I couldn't even lift it up properly, and I talked less about fighting with it.

"Janet, I think it's time you allow me to take full control of you; if not, we are going to die." Tricksy said to me:

"If that's our only means of survival, then do it." I said to Tricksy:

Once I gave her permission, the color of my eyes changed, and immediately my groaning filled the whole palace as I started shifting into my wolf form.

In less than a minute, Tricksy was the one in control.

Without hesitating, she looked at the guards who were approaching me with a wicked grin, and immediately they froze in terror.

Before they could even think of shifting into their wolf forms, Tricksy had already struck them down.

She fed on their hearts, one after the other.

When she looked in the direction of Leroy, he had already struck down all the soldiers too.

"We need to move; the future Alpha will soon be back." Leroy said this to me while retrieving his sword from the abdomen of one of the guards, who was already dead.

"Not so fast." A voice echoed from behind as we were about to start leaving.

Once we turned around, we saw that it was the Alpha, accompanied by another set of guards.

Wow what do you think that the Alpha is going to do to them?

I'm impatient to find out too.
