Panic
A few minutes earlier...
Lola could barely think straight after watching Hakeem die in her hands. She had wished a million times that this was all a nightmare. But every time she closed and opened her eyes, the reality of the ugly incident slapped her right in the middle of her face.
"Why?"
This was the one question Lola kept asking herself and all those who tried to console her. Sadly, no one seemed to have the right answer to her depressing question.
She watched in great agony as Hakeem's corpse was taken away from her bloodied hands. Her jumbled mind thought of ways that they could have prevented such a tragic incident.
'He would have still been alive if he hadn't come close to me. He would still be alive if he had moved on and married another princess. Why should he suffer such a cruel fate after more than five years of grief and loneliness? Oh... it's all my fault.' Lola told herself repeatedly.
