After spending over fifteen minutes with Jamal at the coffee shop, Lola said goodbye and left for the office.
Upon arrival, Lola greeted in her usual cheerful spirit, waving and beaming. However, she observed a slight change in the way her colleagues at the reception office answered her. It was as though they were compelled to respond to her.
Ignoring this and pinning it on the deleted viral picture, Lola took an elevator ride to her office.
When she entered the office, she said, "hello," to some of her departmental colleagues. But the way they answered her greetings mockingly, their eyes laced with disdain, Lola finally realized that she had been the topic of discussion.
Although she was tempted to bring up the issue and clear her name, she decided that there was no point crying over spilled milk. People would still judge her and even make a caricature of her explanation.
