Chapter 16

Stride was very suprised when she saw snake and the other dragons. Why didnt Snake rush towards her or at least acknowledge her as a friend and not as a stranger.

'You better answer me SpeedStinger!'

'I- Snake- Sorry...I'm Strider...'

'THE OTHER ONE TOO!'

'H-he's my brother!' Strider quickly answered unsure if she should have said that.

'That's impossible! I don't have any siblings! I was born with no siblings, you liar!' Snake snarled, tail lashing

'But...Snake! How do you not remember me...?' Strider muttered, her eyes widening.

'I-I've heard of Strider but that must be some of the elder telling stories from my pack!' Snake said nervously, clearly lying

'But...We played together...You scent the same and look the same...?' She mumbled, changing the subject when she saw Snake glare daggers at her. 'Who are all of you anyways?'

'That's not for you to know...! Have you seen a group of dragons with a particular white AmberMelody named Zero, by any chance?' The bigger looking Slitherwing hissed.

'Zero? And why are you looking for him?'

'ANSWER HIM BEFORE YOU GET COVER WITH AMBER AND EATEN WHOLE!'

'...' she paused, but deciding it would be not best if she were to try and outrun the blast. 'Zero's my friend and sadly won't be here for a while I'm assuming'

'Tell the truth!' Snake said lifting his tail up.

'I am! '

'How can we believe you! You already lied about you being my sister!'

'I am...But you have too! And, for you Snake, do you remember the game Tag?'

'H-how?'

'You played it before right? Someone made it up named Strider...'

'Y-Yes...How?'

'You must have just hit your head, Snake! really hard!'

'I must, if you really knew that...I had a dream of playing with someone named Strider...That must be you...You were telling the truth!'

'Yes! Oh gosh...I can't wait to show White'scales! You are staying right?'

'We have to idiot! If we're going to find that Zero we are going to have to wait. Just because we're looking for your friend does not me we are friends!'

' I never said...? Well I still have to show all of you to White'scales so she doesn't freak our or worse, try to attack you.' She gestured to the direction of the cave. 'That's where our home is, I can show you the way there so if I find White'scales I can explain. Besides I need to do a few things.'

' Do you really think we would follow you? Someone we just met! Even Snake wouldn't follow you after just meeting you after such a long time?! Right Snake?' The older looking Slitherwing hissed.

'...'

'Right Snake?'

'...' Snake turned his head away from the older Slitherwing.

'Dragons above...Sanke! How cB you be so gullible, enough to trust a almost complete stranger!'

'But...? She's my sister...even of I dont-'

'Seriously! How will we know to trust her '

'She can start my telling us what happened to that small human village over there! Why arent there any humans?'

'There are...? I thought you'd sniff the human scent even if there were none-' Strider started, confused

' See? Humans!' The older Slitherwing growled.

'The humans are not hunter, they help free and protect dragons. That's pretty much the only reason Zero came here and stayed. Believe it or not, there are good humans in the world, in fact Zero adopted a human hatchling.'

'She's clearly lying!'

' She knows him and you don't.' A familar voice grumbled from the bushes, White'scales. The White SpeedStinger emerged from the bushes.

' And who are you?!' The older Slitherwing snapped his head to the hatchling. Did his eyes soften a bit?

'How about you, all of you introduce yourself first. It's seems fair, you're on our turf after all.'

'The smart little one has a point...I'm Moth, that grumpy Slitherwing is Viper, and the one cowering behind him is Pebble' The Deathsong said in a deadpan voice.

'Thank you, I'm White'scales, she's Strider.' She growled. 'And, if ya gonna stay, may as well make yourself useful and help us!'

'And what makes you think we'd do that? ' Viper said in a mocking-like tone, something a bully would say to taunt a child, approaching White'scales.

'Well I have Fire...' The hatchling lit her sharp, blade like stinger. 'And My blade is less meant for stinging, more for...Slicing.'

Moth looked impressed, Pebble looked terrified, Viper looked more surprised, and Snake looked confused.

'But Speedstingers can't do that...? It should be impossible...?'

'Well, it's because she's a... Her colors are white, just like Zero's. It would make sense since he has different powers, White'scales would have them too...?' Strider answered skeptically, unsure if they would believe her. Of course, she could be correct. But it's much more likely for it to because White'scales was a reincarnate.

'F-fine...What do you want us to do?' Viper grumbled.

'Just wait...' She walked over to the place in the bushesshe emerged from and searched inside for a bit. She popped her head out holding 4 baskets. White'Scales turned towards Strider. 'I saw them from the sky and got these just incase we could persuade them to help us.'

'What are we using those for? And what even is it...?'

'...It's something the humans use to gather things they can't carry. They are called Baskets'

'And why would we use, those? '

'I just want you to gather any plant that looks and or smell weird. Is. That. Clear?' 

'Y-yes...'

'Good! Follow me to the place you can rest at once your baskets are full. Me and Strider are gonna rest since our baskets are pretty much full. Oh, and you'll have to make your own nest to rest in since we don't really have extras, and since Moth will take awhile to build her nest, She'll be allowed to rest in Zero's nest, which is the big one, till hers is done. Any questions?' They all shook their head. 'Great, now come along!' 

White'Scales turned to the direction of the cave. Strider didn't really need to wait for them so she dashed away to the cave. Once she arrived, she coiled up in her nest and went to sleep.
