The morning came with the blink of an eye, the chirping of birds sounded slightly from the top of aging trees. Seth was lying flat on his Type-3 bed, meditating on how to counter today's scene: seeing The Eye.
'Today, I'm going to be thrown out from the foreseer's house like a piece of tattered paper. Not only that, I'm going to slam into a Half-elven, and I'm going to get slapped in the face for countless times.'
'I won't go! I will try my best to stay at home. Helping Mother would be quite helpful,' Seth thought, holding his falling face with one of his fingers beneath his jaw.
Knock!
Someone knocked at the door, and Seth was sure it was Xavier. That jerk! He was going to give Seth the address of the foreseer's house. Seth could have preferred to read the History Book today, but that wasn't a part of his plot.
"It's open! Come in."
The Type-2 wooden door opened wide, letting in the awaiting dawn air accumulating at the house's alley. It was Nicky, not Xavier.
She held a sheet of brown paper in her right hand and a glass of Chapman juice on the other.
Nicky! Ryder's senior sister in Seth's unfinished book. Her character profile was perfect. She was exactly the 'Nicky' Seth had created. But something about her made Seth sad.
'I can't believe I did this to her.' Seth thought. Since Nicky mind reading ability is inactive in the morning, Seth could freely speak in his mind.
He couldn't utter a word at that moment, seeing the charming smile of his beautifully created sister. Nicky carefully sat close to Seth at the edge of the bed, glancing at Seth as she uttered:
"Good morning little bro."
Seth slightly frowned, this is what she used to call Ryder.
"Good morning," Seth said.
"How was your night? Your face looks faint, was your night stressful?" Nicky asked, trying to get a palm contact with Seth's face.
"No, it's just that I tried to play with Silo till midnight, so I didn't have much time to sleep," Seth lied, patting the hairy skin of his cat which lay next to him, by the right.
Silo was his kitty's name.
The cat had white hair with a touch of black on its forehead. Its dull dark-blue eyes and pink nose displayed its admirable feature with its short hairy tail waving towards Seth's holding hand. This was exactly the same Silo in his fuckin book!
"Okay, I brought the address of The Eye's residence," Nicky said with her usual congenial expression.
Seth straightened his hand to get a grip on the brown paper. His actions remained blank as he placed his gaze on the written words on the paper.
[16th Block, Walter Family, Black Scorpion Clan], [A Quest of the Future for Seth Rotunda].
'Crap!'
Seth raised his head to look at Nicky, nodding positively right after. Anyhow it could be, Seth was determined not to meet The Eye today or never.
'Trust me, I'm going to burn this into ashes.'
"You should leave after having breakfast so you could return home before lunch," Nicky advised and continued, "Most especially, don't you dare play gambles with those silly Mages who are trying to gather some money before leaving for the Academy. If you lose the game, you lose your money. I'm sure you don't wanna walk for about twenty kilometers to return home."
Seth nodded positively.
Truly, the Black Scorpion Clan was known for their tricky lifestyle. Based on experience, the Black Scorpion Clan was the most detrimental yet weakest clan in the Northern continent. They might have been outrageous, but they could not stand against other clans in the Northern continent. Their outrageousness was only shown within their walls.
This had made them the weakest clan, however, they stood as the most resourceful and lucky clan. The Eye, a female foreseer from the Walter Family in that same clan awakened a priceless ability, which was to see the future, and sometimes, she sees the past.
Her vision was perfect, and all Newborns in Litchnigan were advised to visit her the next day after the Portal Opening. Seth regretted creating that scene because he knew that today was going to be extremely bad.
After taking hold of the address paper, Seth collected the Chapman juice and took a long sip. Upon drinking the chilled juice, they heard an alarming male voice:
"Nicky, we should go now! The Griffin is set to fly," Xavier yelled, his voice was coming from the alley.
"I have to go now, but please, remember to do exactly what I said okay?"
"Yeah," Seth replied.
As Nicky walked out of his room, Seth quickly followed, leaving his hungry cat behind. He walked as fast as he could just make sure he set his eyes on the Griffin, and fortunately, he could get a glimpse of the mighty creature.
'I can't believe I'm now seeing mythical creatures. Look at it... My description was completely perfect,' Seth thought as he stared at the giant flying creature that seemed to be peeking at him.
'Why is it looking at me like that? That was not a part of the scene!' Seth thought, glaring at the brown-skinned Griffin.
It didn't take more than five minutes before they left. Xavier never said a word to Seth before leaving. His face remained furiously frowned until they took off from the Rotunda Family's small territory together with Master Karl who took the ride.
The streets of the Golden Fox Clan were entirely crowded with Mages all over. The sounds of mostly Type-3 cars, the roars of Griffins, and the whooshing of gleaming ring portals filled the atmosphere, drawing many of the residents' attention to the buzzing streets.
After standing for a while, Seth decided to go back to his room. The scenes are progressing perfectly except for the scary gaze of the Griffin. Actually, Seth never made the Griffin look at Ryder in his novel, and with this happening, Seth was extremely frightened.
Emily, his mother, suddenly placed her palms on his shoulder and gave him a soft squeeze. Turning to see the smile on his new mother's face, Seth smiled back and muttered: "Good morning Mom."
"How was your night handsome?" Emily said, still smiling.
"It was cool, I enjoyed spending time with Silo," Seth replied, grinning.
"Good to hear," Emily sighed, "Okay then, come with me, I am eager to know about your God and Affinity."
'What the heck!' She yelled in his thoughts.
"I'll go get some juice so we can have a nice conversation," his mother said and strode towards the Type-2 main door of the house.
[313th block, Rotunda Family, Golden Fox Clan].
This was the address of their home written high at the door side.
Seth never expected this, he wanted to keep his unidentified God case from everyone. After thinking wide, he also noticed that this scene was not part of what he wrote but it was definitely going to make him do what he wrote.
The fact was that unexpected events occurred just to make him accomplish his scene, even though Seth, himself, was not willing.
All in all, everything still ends up happening the exact way the scene ended in Seth's book. To him, now, it was no longer a new thing.
'Since you have tried to mess up my plans of ignoring this scene, I will meet The Eye. Being thrown out of a house and getting slapped in the face is far better than exposing my miserable aspects," Seth said, grimacing.
He clenched his fist and walked towards the door, trying to inspect if his mother was approaching. Finding out that no one was in sight, Seth sighed roughly and moved North, aiming at the portal park leading to the Black Scorpion Clan.
