Station and First Action

Driving his police car though Brooklyn for the first time, he kept looking outside constantly, trying to enjoy the scenery. The glass skyscrapers, and the occasional apartment building. Finally, driving down Snyder Avenue, he first passed the NY city fire department, before arriving at his workplace.

Parking the car in front of the building, he looked at the authorative and slightly intimidating building - the 67th precinct of the New York Police Department!

Located on Snyder Avenue, the police department that was part of the same building as the fire department, was a 3 floors tall building. With a brick facade and the typical arched windows, it evoked a feeling of the previous centuries more classy constructions.

Leaving the car next to the 5 other service vehicles, he entered through the main buildings wooden door. A squeaky clean interior greeted the man, courtesy of the cleaner's pay being much higher than average. Particularly, due to the chief being obsessed with cleanliness.

Going down the hallway, i passed the lobby area, and as i wanted to go meet the boss, i got interrupted. Arriving before me, he said:

"Man you're 2 hours late, Sarge is mad as hell. You better got a good excuse unless you want your ass to be under fire."

Remembering the name of Roland, i mimicked the original John's... My own? way of greeting him. A quick pat on the shoulder and a, "It'll be fine."

"If you say so, let's go." he replied.

At 1.8 meters, he stood slightly taller than most me men, with a police cap on his head hiding some of his receding hairline. And with the decent sized beard, and a scar he got from a "shootout" next to his eye (he fell down with a knife in hand), he looked quite imposing among the people in the station.

Walking though the building, with me having prepared a decent excuse, i was about to greet Sarge Smith.

A hunk of a man was sitting in his office. At nearly 2 meters tall, he was the tallest in the entire department. Bald and muscular, with a manly beard, he intimidated most criminals with just one look. That same man looked up at me with a mild annoyance in his eyes. As i was about to open my mouth however, he interrupted me.

"Shut.", with one word, i closed my mouth. Picking up a random file from the stack on his table, he threw it at us.

"Now shoo, im busy!"

Exiting the door with a wry smile on our faces, we started checking what the case was.

Sitting down on a bench and flipping open the file, we started reading.

As investigators we do a wide variety of things, including but not limited to investigating minor to major crimes like robbery and homicide, to interrogation, undercover work and collecting warrants.

A robbey happened tuesday, roughly 9:45PM, on 12th july in a family owned restaurant. The restaurants location was in East Flatbush, on the corner of a street.

The suspect entered, threatened the owner and the customers with a handgun, and after getting said cash from the register, bailed.

Suspect description :

White hoodie with blue jeans. Roughly 175 tall with a tattoo on his hand.

Multiple people witnessed the entire process of the robbery, theres also CCTV footage of the entire incident from the restaurant itself.

The neighbours reported the man getting into a blue van, that after identifying the plates, matches with a previously apprehended small time criminal.

And with all that mounted against him, we had an arrest warrant for someone named Mark Anderson.

The only thing is, the original people who worked on this case were transferred to something more urgent.

So we directly got the warrant to arrest him without us doing the investigating part. Lucky!

The only issue is that the suspect may be armed. While that was a bit concerning... Nothing ever happens, right?

"Doesn't look too hard, eh?" said Roland.

"Agreed, let's get to it. Hes currently staying at a Brooklyn inn hotel."

Leaving the building we got into the car, and drove to the Brooklyn Inn.

Within 15 minutes we arrived there. Getting out of the car, i asked.

"Which floor was it?"

"4th floor, room 403." Roland replied.

Walking up to the reception, we let them know what were there for. At first startled, the front desk informed us about the room he stayed in and that theres no other guests on that floor. Not needing to evaacuate anyone made out job easier.

Walking up the stairs to the 4th floor we stood before room 403.

Now, as i was always a cautious sort, i told Ronald to stand on the side of the door so he is out of sight from the one inside. Doing the same thing myself, i knocked on the door.

Seconds passed, before we heard a shuffling sound. The armed suspect was approaching the door. With the excitement and tension rising the closer he was, i stood ready with my revolver in hand.

"Who is it?" came a raspy voice from inside the apartment.

"Room service." i replied.

While Ronald was looking at me with a 'this isn't going to work' expression, the door to the room swung open.

And so, small time criminal, the suspected robber Mark Anderson, walked out with a gun still holstered on his hip. Eyes bloodshot, you could tell this guy had at least 3 different drugs in his blood stream.

Turning to look at me with his bloodshot eyes, it took him a whole second to process whats going on. A second that was more than enough for Roland to cuff him and to throw his handgun, a glock, away.

Falling to the floor with a simple tug, he didn't even struggle. Looking at each other, we were both surprised. We didn't really harm him did we?

Quickly hvaing checked his pulse, we found out he was asleep.

Either way, as we grabbed him and wanted to bring him with us to the police station, we heard another man's voice coming from the room.

"Yo, Mark?"

Not even a moment later, the other man ran out of the room, gun in hand. With the exact same bloodshot eyes and messy clothing.

Yet i had already pre-aimed at the door. Slowing down time by using <Focus >, i showed off my marksmanship to the world for the first time.

With one resounding bang, there was a hole in his hand.

"Argh!"

"Police, you're under arrest!"

Now getting to say it as the procedure required, the man dropped his gun while clutching his hand. Feeling proud of myself, i walked up to him to cuff him. Yet as i got closer, he reached into his pockets.

With another bang...

His other hand fell limply to the floor, as he started rolling around in agony. After cuffing and bandaging him as well, i then did a quick inspection of the apartment and found some drugs. Grabbing all of that as evidence, and throwing the 2 idiots inside the car, we got back to the police station.

Finally handing them and the confiscated drugs over, the case was closed.

As for the cash that was robbed? Needless to say, the thousand bucks was blown on drugs from the amount we recovered.

Both were sentenced for armed robbery and would be in the slammer for a while.

Having finished the annoying report paperwork that took longer than the time to arrest them, i finally arrived home. Collapsing onto the couch, i started thinking about today...

The moment i pulled out the revolver, the motion of aiming, the feeling of shooting the gun... Made me feel alive? As if that was my purpose?

As someone who was pretty poor my entire life, i never really owned a gun or even tried using one. So being this familiar, even with the police training as John, made me feel odd. Probably the systems invisible effect? Its not listed anywhere after all.

Turning on the TV and switching around channels for a while, i came accross a channel broadcasting Iron Man. Or at least Stark Industries was Iron Man's company right?

Opening the can of the energy drink, i started sipping while looking at the movie.

Not evem five minutes later, i realised an issue. Frowning, i looked at the channel name.

New York News.

Seeing that it was a news channel, yet it was broadcasting about Stark Industries newest weapons...

Wait... This isn't a movies channel? This is... A news channel? Wait. Wait. WAIT...

"DID I REINCARNATE INTO MARVEL UNIVERSE?!"

Recalling the things i knew about marvel, my face slowly turned darker and darker.

I didn't know almost anything regarding Marvel! I barely watched movies in general as they usually were far broadcast far too late for me to watch.

Besides iron man there was... Was uh... They had batman? Right? Right?! Wasn't it also multiple universes?!?

With a singular tear in my eye, i slowly mumbled, "I should've watched at least some more superhero movies..."

Sorry i didn't drop a chapter yesterday. I had a power outage so i had to use my remaiming battery sparingly.

Also i had to research quite a bit on how American police worked, for warrants and stuff, so thats why it took so long to post it today.
