Ch. 3 Kaneki's transformation.

( Yami Pov )

" This is... quite degrading..." I spoke to myself as I watched Kaneki and Rize on their date. This caused me to feel a bit jealous since I'm alone.

" Tch! I'm already 17 but I haven't found a girlfriend yet." I violently took a bite out of my sandwich.

A few hours passed on their date and me stalking them from afar, and as they walked down the street, I saw Rize biting into Kaneki's shoulder.

My eyes widened as I saw my friend getting bitten and the sudden attack. Despite the years passing, I barely have any information about this worlds plot.

' Damn it!' I quickly ran across the rooftops and followed Rize and Kaneki to the construction site.

I activated my quinqui to reveal a pair of daggers as I threw one at Rize.

" Wha-" In a surprise attack, I cut on her Kakuhou before ducking her counterattacks.

' Too fast!!" I thought as he continued to dodge her attacks and slowly closed in.

" You!!" Her eyes widen in surprise.

" The ghost..." She muttered before continuing to speed up her attacks.

"!!!" I looked up to see steel beams falling from above.

' How could I forget–' I quickly stabbed Rize's shoulder and pulled her into the area where the Steel beams would all at and kicked her under the steel beams.

I looked up to see a person turning away.

" Just great..." I looked at Rize's unresponsive arm and looked at Kaneki.

" Here... this'll help." I muttered as I injected some morphine into Kaneki. After the injection, I called the ambulance and left the area. I didn't want anyone to see I was here.

A few hours later.

" So, you managed to stop her from eating another victim, who is in critical status."

" Yes, sir. I was too late in tracking her down. I'll accept any form of punishment." I bowed, ignoring my pride, I knew this was the only way for me to move from here.

' I just have to play this carefully.'

A few hours later...

" Kaneki." I opened the door to see Kaneki looking at his tray.

Ghouls can't eat human food. This is one of the lessons I learned in the academy, and this thought resurfaced when I saw Kaneki staring at his food.

" Ah! You have a guest!" The nurse stood up.

" Hello." I waved and sat next to Kaneki.

" How are you feeling?" I asked as I saw Kaneki staring at me.

" I–I'm fine." He replied, looking at his tray again.

" It seems your friend is having a trouble time eating." The nurse explained the situation to me as I nodded.

" I see... Well, Kaneki. If you don't eat it, I may as well sacrifice myself and eat it for you." I took a bite of Kanekis food.

" It seems normal to me." I said, looking at Kaneki as I continued to pieces of his food until the nurse chopped my head and took the tray out.

" My lunch..." I muttered as I watched the nurse leave the room before sighing.

" Well, it seems you're doing fine, Kaneki. I won't be available for a while since im going to be busy with work." I smiled and left Kaneki.

A few hours later...

( Kaneki's pov )

' I'm overtaking things...'

" I'm hungry." I heard my stomach grow as I felt an intense hunger overcome me as I search the refrigerator for food, but they all tasted awful.

I walked outside to see the girl from the cafe being held by an older man. But I paid attention to the girls' legs, which looked delicious.

" Huh? What are you looking at?"

" Hey, you... you!! Don't ignore more me... dont..." The man froze as I looked at him.

" Don't touch me!!"

The man became scared as he stepped back.

" What's with your eye? Disgusting! Get outta here, you monster!!" And before he could continue, I was surprised to see his head being slashed on half.

" You piss me off." The girl said as she cut the man's arm.

" What? Do you want some?" She asked.

' This girl... she's a ghoul!?'

( Yami Pov )

" Hm? Kaneki?" I looked around Kaneki as he entered the Cafe, he immediately looked down as I managed to get a glimpse of his left eye.

' I guess I missed the part where he discovered he's a ghoul now...' I thought as I looked around Kuzen.

" Touka-chan, if you could please show him to the back, I'll be with Nakamura-Kun." Kuzen waved Touka and Kaneki off as he stood behind the counter again.

" I'm sorry Nakamura-Kun–"

" The one-eyed ghoul." I interrupted him.

" Owl, I won't be needing an answer right now, but I do hope you could think it over. After all, I wished to gatekeep your coffee to myself." I smirked as I drank the rest of my coffee.

" I'll be going now, Yoshimura-San. It seems you're needed at back." I stood up and left the cafe.

" Have a good night, Nakamura-Kun." Kuzen waved.

I exited the cafe and looked at the moon in the sky.

" Sigh, I'm totally gonna find that ghoul." One of the reasons I visited Kuzen is to find a ghoul in the area.

' From the clues, the ghoul targets young woman... so the ghoul is a male and lustful. From the markings, it seems to be the work of an inexperienced ghoul.'

' A teenager... probably a high schooler as well.' I stopped by a park and opened my suitcase to take out a few files.

' From the identity of the girls, they were from the same high school, so the boy has to be from thay school and must've targeted them for their beauty.'

' If it's a teenager with good looks, he would've targeted any girls, pretty or average, and would take them to a secluded spot. So it's an average male.'

I put away the files and looked at the high school in the distance.

' These girls were targeted on their way towards home. The school is now in suspension because of the number of attacks. These attacks started a few days ago. Which means... it's a transfer a student.'

' And from the list I read. There is three transfer students, a girl and two boys, the girl just happened to be one of the victims and one of the males was spotted in the area.'

I entered the school and searched for the two boys information.
