Chapter 17: May?

"Charizard! Dodge it using your wings!" I said as I saw Charizard nodding his head upward and downward as he used his wings to go left and right to dodge the incoming rock throw.

"Then use Smokescreen!" I said as Charizard breathed out black smoke that covered the whole battlefield, blocking the view of both Charizard and Geodude.

"Now! Use Seismic Toss." I said as I saw Charizard nod toward me and then charged toward Geodude.

"Geodude! Use everything you've got to dodge it!" Brock said, desperately, as panic spread across his face.

And when Charizard charged toward Geodude, he unexpectedly dodged it at the last moment.

"Again!" I said as Charizard, who flew past Geodude, U-turned, and then this time, Brock didn't have time to react as Charizard was really close to Geodude. Charizard caught Geodude with his hands tightly as he flew into the air.

But as the gym had a ceiling, he couldn't go really high, but he still used the move Seismic Toss. He descended at lightning speed and then tossed Geodude roughly halfway as Geodude hit the ground and flinched.

When Brock saw that, he knew the battle was over. I said, "Now! Earthquake!"

I said as Charizard levitated a little higher than before and then crashed onto the ground using pressure from his legs, causing the gym to shake a little and the flinched Geodude fell to the ground.

"Sigh! It seems I lost, and pretty badly at that! Your combination with your Charizard was amazing! I have to admit you're really a strong trainer!" Brock appalled as he called back the unconscious Geodude to his Poké Ball. Streaks of red light covered Geodude before he disappeared into Brock's Poké Ball.

"Here it is! The Boulder Badge. You really backed up your words that you said earlier," Brock said as he walked near me and handed me the silver-colored badge. I placed it in my badge case before bidding him farewell and heading to the Pokémon Centre where I left my Charizard to heal while I slept for some time, as the battle was kind of tiring.

I slept for 2 hours, and when I woke up, it was already past 3 PM in the afternoon. So, I got out of the Pokémon Centre to stroll the streets of Pewter City, but not before taking my Charizard back.

He wasn't injured in the first place, so I could fetch him quickly. Otherwise, if he really was injured badly, he would have to stay in the Pokémon Centre for a day or two.

As I was strolling through the streets of Pewter City, I saw some cotton candy that I bought and then continued my stroll in Pewter City while eating.

I was passing by the museum when I heard a girl, the same age as me with shoulder-length brown hair, with a handkerchief-like thing wrapped around her head with some design on it, call me.

"Oh, is that you, Izana?" said the girl with shoulder-length brown hair.

"Oh, ... aren't you May? If I recall correctly, weren't you supposed to be in the Hoenn region?" I said with confusion to May.

"Yeah, I was, but I came here on holiday in Kanto once more!" said the girl with shoulder-length brown hair with a smile on her face.

"So, what were you doing in Pewter City?" May asked me with a curious expression.

Well, during my time at summer camp, I met a lot of significant characters like May, Dawn, and even Cynthia, but I didn't mention it as I thought it was not worth it, as I'll only meet them again in the far future. But who would have thought the same characters are coming to Kanto one by one. Is there something going on in Kanto that I don't know about?

"Well, I was just taking a stroll through the streets of Pewter City after winning my first badge. How about you?" I said with a yawn as my sleep wasn't complete and I still felt sleepy.

"Well, I was exploring the museum of Pewter City. Since you've got a starter as well! How about we battle with our starters?" She said with a smile on her pretty face.

"Well, I don't think we should battle!" I said as I got my starter way earlier than most people, and now my starter is already a powerhouse. It would be boring/pity to battle some weak starters now and discourage them or so I thought.

"Why? Are you afraid?" She said with a chuckle as she looked at me with a curious expression.

"Haha! No, I'm not afraid. Well, I'll just show you my first Pokémon, and you'll understand why I don't want to battle you." I said as I grabbed the Poké Ball of Charizard from my Poké Belt and threw it lightly in the air.

And from it came streaks of red lights before it formed Charizard, who shouted to show dominance.

When May saw my Charizard, she had her eyes widen in shock and understood why I didn't want to battle her.

"So, did you understand why I don't want to battle you?" I said with one eye closed as I asked her.

"...yeah!" She said in a small voice that was almost not possible to hear, but I could hear it because I was really close to her.

"Well then! How many more days are you going to stay in Kanto?" I said curiously.

"I think I'll leave tonight as I came here a month ago!" She said with a playful smile.

"That's pretty bad! I thought we could travel for some time." I said with a fake sad smile.

Well, I faked my smile as I was just teasing her, and she knew it well as she said, "Haha! We will travel together if you ever come to the Hoenn region or I come here once more."

"Okay! Then!" I said as we talked a little more before we both headed to a restaurant where we talked a lot and ate my lunch there.

We both were so engrossed in talking that we forgot time, and before we even knew it, it was already time for her flight, so she left while I headed back to my room in the Pokémon Centre.

(A/N: That's it for today! No more chap for today as I've already told you the reason. The reason she won't be a travel companion of izana is that it will be overwhelming to write 3 or 4 character per chap and beside, he will meet a lot of significant characters and I can't just make everyone he knows his travel companion. His travel companion will only be 2 companion and him or 3 and him.)
