Reincarnated into Chrono Trigger [OLD]

The MC is an avid Chrono Trigger fan, who just so happens to beat every ending. Upon doing so, he wants to better himself. He steps outside to be immediately hit in the head by a TV. "Whelp... At least I tried." Sighing, he finds himself in another place entirely. *** I noticed that there aren't any Chrono Trigger novels, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I obviously don't own Chrono Trigger, and I don't own the cover picture. I did re-color it though, that took a while.

3] What do I do... Nothing?

(Zero's POV, Cron- Zero's house)

After meeting Marle for the first time, I immediately remembered Lucca. She should be around 8 years old now, and in a year her mom gets into an accident...

Zero- 'Should I save her? I can at least try to... The password to stop the machine is LARA, at least it is in the game.' After pondering for a moment I come up with a decision. 'Lucca needs this accident to happen, that way she gets the motivation to build things... Crono already became her friend...'

I sigh and go outside, knowing the future is hard.

*** a week later

I am sparring with Crono outside, and we are pretty evenly matched.

Crono- "Haaa!" He swings down his wooden sword after jumping into the air, which provokes me to sidestep and parry his attack. I'm only using one sword, so I can't capitalize on the parry very well.

Crono sees my problem and immediately takes a swing for my side, which I barely deflect. I swing my sword down, and he takes it head on. Blocking my strike with one of his very own, causing me to click my tongue.

Zero- "Not good..." He and I both know that Crono is slightly stronger than I am, so he is in an advantageous position. While he is a bit overconfident in his situation, I smile and pull his leg out from under him with my own leg. I point my sword to his throat. "I win."

I feel almost bad about using my at least 20 years older brain to beat him. I offer him my hand to help him up, and he gladly takes it. He gets into another sword stance, and I just smile. "Okay fine, just one more. I have to go meet someone after this, so I'm going all out."

I get my second wooden sword out, and get into the iconic dual wield Kirito pose.

(Picture for those who don't know what I'm talking about.)

After a 5 minute beat down of my brother, I finally get to go to the sweets shop. I see the nervous girl fidgeting in front of the door, when she sees me she waves at me eagerly. I wave back with a small smile on my face, which incites a smile in her as well.

Marle- "Hi Zero! How was your week?" I simply brush her knowing my name off, assuming that she asked Jerri (Shop owner).

Zero- "It was alright, a bit tiring... But alright nonetheless." She looks at me with a worried face.

Marle- "Why was it so tiring? Are you okay?" I chuckle at seeing her reaction.

Zero- "No need to worry, I'm fine. I was just training with my brother, and he can get a little excited." She seems a bit embarrassed, so I just go into the shop. She follows shortly after, and we spend a while just talking and eating sweets. I eat as little as possible while making it look like I am enjoying it.

*** 30 minutes later

Marle decides that she needs to go back home, and I understand why. I wave goodbye as she leaves, following her thought process shortly after. On my way home I see Crono and Lucca doing something, but I try to avoid them.

I go inside our house, and plop some sweets on the table.

Mom- "Oh, welcome back Zero. You just missed Crono, he and Lucca went to her house." I sit at the table.

Zero- "Okay, that's fine. I was planning on going back out soon, after a break." My mother just laughs, and places a plate with some food on it in front of me.

Mom- "Well, at least eat some lunch first." While eating I have a thought.

Zero- 'This is good, but man... I want some ramen...' After lunch, I head out into the forest. I kill a few things, but I get to tired to do too much else.

On my way out of the forest, I get jumped by a Blue Eaglet.

"Crap, these guys are tough..." The flying monster dives toward me, and I have to roll out of the way. "Too damn fast!" I stand back up and ready a knife in my right hand, with my wooden sword in my left. Once it flies toward me again, I bat it down with my sword.

I stab my knife into it's back, but that's apparently not enough because it flies back into the air and screeches at me. I pull out my second knife to replace the one I just lost.

The Eaglet flies toward me again, and I try to smack it down with my sword. The bird dodges just barely, but that allows me to strike with my knife. "[Focus Point]!" I use my new tech that I learned a few days ago, stabbing the bird in the heart.

Finally, the beast is dead. Falling to the ground, I sigh. "That was pretty close... I knew it was a good decision to avoid them." Going over to the corpse, I yank out my other knife. "Gross."

Walking home, I clean my weapons in a nearby pond. When I reach my house, I see that Crono is outside training again. He waves me over, and I join him with a sigh.

*** Another year passes

The meetings with Marle continue every week, and training with Crono happens every day. I am finally properly introduced to Lucca, but every time I see her I start feeling a small amount of guilt.

This year Lucca's mom loses the ability to use her legs, and I can stop it... But I stay strong in my convictions, she needs this to happen so I can time travel. Er, so... Crono can save the world. Yeah, that.

Anyway, I remember about the Blackbird. In case I end up getting captured, I start training in hand-to-hand combat. Doing that allows me to pass the time proactively, and one day I hear about Lucca's reclusion.

"So it happened already... Alright, now I can stop feeling bad about not telling Lucca." I stretch as I gaze into the sky. "Can't change what has already happened-" '-Yet.' I chuckle to myself, shaking my head in disappointment at my shenanigans.

*** Another month passes

'Marle didn't show up today, I wonder if she got caught.' I go to the entrance of Guardia Forest, and start my daily monster beatings. I can now easily defeat a Blue Eaglet without issue, and have barely defeated a group of three of them.

I swear, if Seraph's Song didn't replenish my MP, I would have died. I also put on the same type of headband that Crono has, so my speed somehow increased.
