Chapter 10

As I was looking at the battle talking place, the dark mage cast 2 summons, one of them a flying beast that was able to shoot fire, and the other was a land creature that had its muscle and other insides showing as it did not have any flesh covering its body.

The light mage then casted a barrier that seemed to prevent the creature's attacks from reaching him.

Then the light mage had used his fire element. He casted a fire dragon, like mine, and had it continue to grow in size until it was larger than a guard tower, one of the largest structures in the city. After it had stopped growing he sent it after the flying creature first, taking it out in one fell swoop. The land summon however, was not as easy to destroy, the land creature had attacked the fire dragon repetitively as it was slowly dying. If the creature had lasted much longer the fire dragon would have been defeated.

The light mage then had his spell to go to their opponent, and knock him out with one final attack.

As the winner was announced, it was obvious just how worn out he was after the fight.

I hadn't realized that so many bouts had already passed, as the announcer was telling everyone who has made it into the academy. Luckily I was on the list, but unlike the others, I was not told what element to go to.

When I met up with the director of the academy he told me that I could pick any of the elements that I wanted.

"If at all possible I would greatly appreciate it if I could join the dark elemental course."

"Yes, I will arrange for you to join the darkness courses at once."

"Thank you."

I was then told to go meet the teacher of the dark element. He was a thin lookin man, but he seemed to be able to take care of himself if he ever got into a fight.

"What's your name kid."

"My name is Aki."

"Well Aki, have you started cultivating the dark element yet?"

"No, I am able to use a few of the elements, including water, and have only worked on it."

After the conversation he went to the director. When he came back he said that he is willing to give me a better technique then the rest, to start cultivating, but I had to return it tomorrow, so I needed to memorize it.
