Sidestory: Naruto's Bloody Memory.

It was a few months after Tora had met Naruto, and the 5 year-olds were walking down Konoha. They were exploring the village together finding something to do; they finally spotted a general shinobi supply shop and entered to browse the merchandise. The shopkeeper currently wasn't in the store and had left a sign that they were on lunch break. Regardless, the two children decided to look through the wares.

After some time Tora found a violet half-oni mask made out of sturdy metal. While Naruto found a decorative fox mask and a few training weights he could place under his clothing while training. They were both excited with what they had just found and were only waiting for the shopkeeper to return. Tora decided to look inside the store one more time before returning to Naruto at the counter.

Around a minute after leaving Naruto, a loud noise was heard by Tora.

THUD!

CRASH!

Tora immediately ran towards the noise and found an older looking man staring down at a downed Naruto.

"Get out here you little demon! I don't care what they say, you killed my wife and son. You killed your own father and mother just by being born!" The man yelled at the bleeding and unconscious Naruto.

A crowd of bystanders had started gather around, but no one was interfering. Some were even silently agreeing with Naruto's treatment. The man was about to step forward to kick the downed child before he stopped in his tracks by a kunai grazing his cheek. The man stopped and touched the blood flowing down his cheek before turning towards where the kunai had come from. When he did so, he was met by a dropkick from a large child.

THUD!

CRASH!

THUD!

THUD!

THUD!

THUD!

Naruto regained a shaky consciousness and found an Tora on top of a bloody man, repeatedly bashing the man's face with the blunt end of his kunai. He tried to make sense of the situation, he was suddenly kicked in the face by the shopkeeper before losing consciousness. Now he awoke to find Tora brutalizing the shopkeeper.

It was then some members of the Konoha police arrived at the scene.

"Halt, was is happening here!" An Uchiha member of the police said.

"The violet haired boy attacked the shop keep!" A member of the crowd yelled.

The konoha police force looked at Tora who was still repeatedly bashing the shopkeeper's face in. The shopkeeper was unconscious and it looked like Tora had broken the man's arms.

"Hoshi boy! What are you doing! Do not make me call your clan leader." The captain of the squad yelled.

Tora looked up at the police members and then at the member of the crowd who incriminated him.

"Me? I was punishing a traitor to the village Uchiha-sama." Tora said. Not just killing intent, but bloodlust started leaking from him.

"What do you mean boy?" The captain said, he had already realized that the boy was stronger than his age group.

Tora in response looked at the Uchiha captain solemnly.

"Uchiha-sama, on my honor as the heir of the Hoshi clan, this man attacked the son of a hokage for no reason. You can ask the anbu who are normally watching Naruto if you need proof. You can also see that many members of this crowd assisted him by doing nothing to assist Naruto and/or trying to blame me for this incident." Tora said. He was betting on the fact that the hokage wouldn't just let Naruto go around unmonitored by anbu.

The crowd then widened their eyes as they realized that they were being accused as traitors by Tora.

"But... but... that boy is the" The original member of the crowd that blamed Tora was about to bring-up Naruto's status as a jinchuriki. However he was interrupted by Tora's shout.

"But what!? Even if what you heard from rumors is right, what the hell are you thinking trying to piss him off! Are you an idiot who throws oil on fire and expects it to go out!...You must be a fool unless you are trying to purposefully summon the demon fox and destroy the village." Tora let that statement hang in the air. He realized that hate and fear makes people to irrational things but he wasn't willing to let go of what the villagers were doing to Naruto.

"Either way, what you did just directly threatened the village and disregarded the third's orders! You are all traitors, and must be treated as such. I swear the hoshi clan will personally hunt down traitors such as you. We are a new clan but we will definitely earn our keep with your heads!" Tora then continued. Anger, rage, and bloodlust radiated more and more from the five year old boy. He then turned the sharp point of kunai towards the shopkeeper and raised it high in the air to stab into the man's face.

It became obvious that he was about kill the shopkeeper and perhaps go after the crowd.

It was then the three Anbu who were in charge of monitoring Naruto appeared; one of which was Kakashi in his hound mask attire.

"That's enough!" Kakashi then yelled. As he held the wrist of the hand holding the Kunai being wielded by Tora.

"Hello Uchicha-san, what the hoshi boy says was true. It was the shop keep who started assaulting Naruto unwarranted." Kakashi said to the Konoha police force captain.

The crowd the stopped in a cold sweat when they realized that the full story was witnessed by the anbu, who were the eyes and ears of the hokage. Their word and opinion on the events was law. There was very little their word as civilians could do against an anbu's.

The captain had a complicated look on his face. This meant that he had to arrest and question all the people in this crowd. Then he had the write the request to the T&I department to interrogate or read the minds of everyone present to judge their complicity in the situation.

"Hmm, this is going to be a headache to write in a report later." The captain said.

"Do not worry, Uchiha-sama since it is clear they are all traitors. We can simply execute everyone without trial. I don't think these people realize how lucky they are with Naruto... I can show them what a real monster looks like." Tora, who was already in a blood frenzy, skipped a few of the legal processes in the village when judging people for treason. His eyes flashed angrily but he had a sadistic smile on his face; something that did not belong on a five year-old.

The crowd then started feeling true fear as they felt the killing intent and mad fury coming from the boy grow even larger. The heir to the hoshi clan, stood and started trying to walk towards them. It was obvious he would have jumped on them already if Kakashi wasn't holding his wrist.

Kakashi could only sigh under his anbu mask.

"Hoshi-kun, shouldn't you be worrying about Naruto instead of trying to kill everyone here?" Kakashi asked. Tora stopped walking at this and looked at Naruto who was trembling and had fear in his eyes.

Naruto then looked at him pleadingly and said weakly.

"Tora-kun... please don't do it." The yellow-haired boy, who was likely only in a half conscious confused haze, said before losing consciousness once more.

Tora seeing this, looked back at the villagers and made a mocking snort.

"You are all lucky, I can't believe that he still cares about all of you scum living. Whatever, the "monster" you tried to kill is kind, I'm not. The next time I see someone try to get any ideas, you'll wish you and all your family were dead after the hell I'll put you through." Tora then walked up to Naruto and picked him-up.

"I'm going to take him to Tsunade-hime for healing. I wonder what she thinks of the villagers who just hurt her nephew. Thank you for your help Uchiha-dono, Anbu-dono." Tora bowed towards the Konoha police and anbu. Then he started walking away leaving the idea that many in the crowd may have just impulsively angered the village's princess.

It was this event, that Naruto was barely conscious for; alongside his official adoption by Tsunade and living with the Uchiha later that caused the treatment of Naruto to truly start changing. The clans treated him better since many of the clan heads respected and truly understood what Naruto was sacrificing for the village. While the civilians who may have harbored irrational resentment to Naruto were to scared to act due to the influence of Tsunade, the Uchiha, and the Hoshi who were basically Naruto's guardians/sponsors.

To Naruto himself, this event was something he only barely remembered. He recalled that people stopped directly picking fights with him after this. He also noticed that some people started looking at Tora with fear, even more so than the looks they gave Naruto. What truly struck Naruto however, was the bloodlust being released by the usually smiling Tora, this scared Naruto so much that he subconsciously locked away this memory somewhat. It was only recently that he remembered this happened after trying to scrounge for memories of Tora.

Here is the quick side-chapter I wrote. It's just a quick flashback showing more of what happened with Naruto and Tora before Naruto got adopted and started living with the Uchiha. I also rewrote it so that Naruto's identity as the fourth hokage's son was known by the village and Naruto. I don't think it really mattered in the original story, and to be honest, if the villagers knew he was the demon fox then they probably should have known he was Minato's son too.

I have a question though, did you guys think that Kishimoto initially writing Minato's identity as Naruto's father as a secret mattered in the end? It feels like it became really obvious at one point, so there was no real surprise when it eventually got confirmed. I think it could have been interesting if Naruto knew at a much earlier age, I feel like he could have dealt with interesting feelings like resentment and awe regarding his dad; that would have really been entertaining I feel.
