The clash

The sight I saw shocked me. It was something I never thought I'd see in my life. Mom and dad were sweating and they were drenched in it.

I turned my head and I saw a muscular old man with a woman by his side eating with them. The old man looked just like dad with grey hair.

"K-Kevin, meet g-grandpa and grandma." Mom said. "My boy!, he looks just like you Michael." The next thing I knew, I was in the air being carried by my grandparents.

"Who's a big boy now. You are, yes, you are." I mouthed the words help to the others but I was betrayed without hesitation.

Rachel said " Sir, it seems this is a family dinner, we'll take our leave and have ours elsewhere." " Sure, you can go." dad answered.

They left and I had to tell my grandparents to stop. "Please can you stop this, it's cringe."

"Cringe, is that a new word." grandpa asked. "Please give us a moment." mom said as she dragged me outside.

When we got outside, I talked first. " So mom, are you going to explain or well stand like this for the next five minutes.

"Those people are your father's parents and please be respectful to them. At every chance you get, discourage them from staying here after tomorrow.

Erase all signs of technology and speak only when you're asked questions. Don't use any modern slangs that you young ones use. Put down the phone, what did I just tell you!"

I was writing the things she said on the phone so that I could remember everything but my phone went up in smoke the next second.

"No! mom!. Just use your system as a notebook and where are your wings!. (gasp) Don't tell me you cut them like your hair."

"They're still here." I said as I brought them out. "how did- , I'll ask later, now get inside!."

Dinner went well as all the questions were answered by mom and she also went with the excuse that I don't talk much.

After dinner, I spread my Mana sense around and I found the others. They were all laughing (except Rachel) and eating happily without me.

Suddenly an ice needle was moving to me at a very fast speed. I quickly dodged it but it took a strand of my hair.

I looked towards Rachel and I saw more I've needle being shot at me. I [loophole]d to her back and I aimed to knock her out but a sword almost cut my fingers. I jumped back a few meters and she chased me.

She ran after me at a very fast speed that the others who were still mortals couldn't see her properly.

I took my sword out as I decided to go in for the strike. To the others, it looked like a yellow light was about to clash with a silver one.

I swung my sword and Rachel did too and the moment we clashed,

SHIIIINNNNGGG!!!!!!

A nasty sound occured throughout the castle and the next thing thing I knew, my sword was sliced in half, Rachel's too.

All that was left was a stump. All the skills on it were unusable. I stood there shocked. Rachel too.

PAH, PAH, PAH,

We heard a clap and we turned to see my grandpa standing with a smile on his face. "Nice entertainment." he said before walking away.

"Old man!. What did you do to me!."

Rachel shouted. Gramps turned around and he said "Just a little magic."

I looked at Rachel for a second before I realized what had happened. Gramps had controlled her!.

Mom appeared and she said " Yikes, I forgot to tell me that your grandpa's magic affinity is illusions and he has mastered the art of manipulation. Sorry kids."

"Our weapons...." I said in despair. "Don't worry Kevin, All of you need to change your

weapons. The ones you guys use are for mortals, all of you need a weapon change so how about we go dungeon diving day after tomorrow.

I'll teach you everything you need to know about dungeons tomorrow afternoon. So buckle up." she said as she disappeared.

That night I explained to mom everything they happened and I didn't leave one bit. "Ooooh, my son already has someone." mom said teasingly.

"Mom!, please let's be serious." "Okay." she said but the teasing smile was still on her face.

"Everything that happened to you has never happened in the history of system holders. Even! what's a system upgrade."

I stared at her wide eyed in shock. "You're the first to be a system holder not after 7 generations. Why is that?"

' Probably because I reincarnated' I said in my mind. "I'll take you to my clan home one day and trust me, my parents aren't old school like some others."

The next day

I woke up and I could feel something hugging me tightly. I removed the covers and I saw Leon!. "Leon!, what's wrong with you?, you have your own room.

"Ugh, what happened. Oh Kevin." Leon said lazily. "Why are you here.?" I asked. "I had a nightmare so I found my way to your room. You're really comfy. Can I touch you again?."

"Knock it off." I said, "You're still sleepy so splash some water on your head. We have class by noon."

Breakfast went quietly with grandpa earning some glares from me. When he noticed, he just smiled at me.

I went to my room to read my favorite book when I remembered my phone had gone up in smoke. I punched the wall in anger and a gaping hole was left there.

I continued to walk down the hallway when I heard a voice. "Kevin!. What on Mersus happened to you!. Where are your wings. Don't tell me you cut them off like your hair."

I turned around to see my father standing there as if he had seen a ghost. He dragged me into the nearest room and I explained it to him.

I gave him a smile as I walked out as he still had the stunned expression on his face.
