Beast drop

A dozen servants were seen running down the hallway with boxes as big as five people. With the size of the boxes, their visions were blocked as they ran and they could only use their sixth sense so as not to trip.

Micheal was casually walking down the hallway with a bored expression. He saw one of the servants falling to the ground and quickly saved him. "Hey, what's with the rush." he asked the servants.

"These dummies are for prince Kevin's training.' answered the servants in unison. Michael took a look and the dummies and smiled. "It looks like he has gotten this far in a short time. Like father like son. You may leave."

It was after saying those words that a loud bang sounded as if the sound barrier had been ripped open. The already running servants fell on their butts because of the shockwaves of the explosion. Michael looked out a window and he saw creatures of different sizes and statures falling from the sky.

The servants too looked out but all they could see where black dots. They took their loads and hurried to the training room. Back to Micheal, a smirk could be seen on his face. He quickly rushed down to get his armor. As he went an announcement echoed throughout the empire.

"ALERT, ALERT, CODE APEX, I REPEAT CODE APEX!!!. EVERYONE HIDE IN YOUR UNDERGROUND SHELTER. I REPEAT, CODE APEX."

After hearing that, the smirk on Micheal's face turned into a deep frown.

Kevin POV

I couldn't feel my arms anymore with the rate that I kept swinging my sword. I had been fighting moving dummies continuously and I kept getting surrounded. "Come on Kevin. The dummies are just at level 3. I'll turn it up if you don't improve!" Mother had been ruthless with her training. She even plastered a paper on her green jumpsuit that said 'ruthless and demon.'

Those words gave me an adrenaline rush as I began to slaughter through the endless waves of dummies. I activated a new skill that I learned.

[Predict]. It would let you see your enemies moves five steps ahead. It was like being in another dimension as another me fought against my enemy as I looked at the moves.

I made a war cry as I the dummies kept decreasing by the second. I saw the last dummy in front of me. I ran towards it and I saw it with a wooden sword. That was strange. I swung my sword towards it and a loud explosion occured as I was knocked off my feet by the explosion and the dummy's wooden sword.

BOOOOM!!

ALERT, ALERT, CODE APEX, I REPEAT CODE APEX!!!. EVERYONE HIDE IN YOUR UNDERGROUND SHELTER. I REPEAT, CODE APEX!!.

I heard a sound by my side. I looked and I saw a golden armor by my side. "Get dressed, your coming with me" my mother said. After getting into the armor, I asked, "Mom, what's a code apex?"

"It's the highest level of beast drop that can appear anywhere." Seeing the confused look on my face, she continued "Beast drop means when a hidden dungeon breaks" Still seeing the confused expression on my face she said, "Don't worry, you'll be taught at the academy."

'Academy, the thought of an academy never crossed my mind.' I looked and I saw that mother had gone ahead of me. I took flight with my wings as I flew down the hallway and I started to think, 'These beasts are gonna be as easy as breathing'.

I regretted talking so early because the moment I opened the castle doors, a wave of energy hit me and I was pinned to the wall. I saw a hideous creature. It had the lower half of a horse and the upper half of a orc. The lower part of its mouth was hanging down at a length that was inhumane. There was blood on its mouth. It looked at me with immense bloodlust. I even received a quest.

[Survive the fight!]. reward = 500exp

'Huh, survive not defeat. I guess I'm not at that level yet. Two sides of me fought at that moment. A angel on my right side and a devil on my left. The angel said, "Run Kevin." The devil said "The system underestimates you, Kevin. Fight." As I was listening to the voices in my head, the beast had already reached my and it stretched a hand to my face.

Fear became evident in my eyes but I was saved after a spear lodged itself inside the head of the creature. It's brain matter spilled everywhere and some touched my face. I threw up the five million dollar meal I ate in the morning.

My body hit the floor before I could break my fall and I landed in a pool of almost digested food. "Yuk." I looked at me direction of the spear and I saw a guard with more badges than other guards.

'This person is Adam. Head guard and husband of the head maid. His nickname is the spear dancer. He always had eight spears on his back and when fighting, he had two in his hands, two at his elbow, two at knee and two on his feet.' I thought.

"You shouldn't be outside your highness" he said. "Mother said I should come and meet her. Can you take me there?" "As you wish." He whistled and a white horse came and took us to a battlefield.

I could feel my heart beating faster as we came closer to where my father was fighting an apex rank beast. The shockwaves of power that came out hitting me almost blew me away if not for Adam who was also using all his strength to stay on the horse.

As we got there, I could see my father in golden armour and my mother was in a silver one. The beast they were fighting was humanoid. It stood on two legs like a human and it had crazy eyes filled with bloodlust and intelligence. It had sharp claws with poison that was enough to kill ten elephants.

It has red scales on its chest and head. Every instinct in my body was telling me to run away and survive. The fight continued with no destination in sight until the beast mad a slight mistake which was the opening for father and mother to rip off the scales on the beast.

KAAAAAAA!!!!!

The beast shouted in pain and defeat. All that could be seen on the chest of the beast was little flesh and the pink muscles underneath. My father lifted his sword to pierce the half exposed heart but my mother stopped him and pointed ant me. He dropped his hands and told me to come.

Seeing mother pointing at me and father agreeing. The first thought that came to my mind was 'crazy people'. They'd expect me to kill that thing. I was about to refuse but a quest came on.

[Kill the Apex level beast] [Reward = 10 levels]. [Hidden reward]

The dead fire in my eyes came back to life as I unsheathed my sword and I walked towards them. I looked into the eyes of the beast and time seemed to pause. I found myself in another place.

I saw a little child with red claws walking in a small civilization. It was bullied and cheated by its own kind. It got determination and it rose through the ranks of evolution and became the ruler. of its kind. It killed those who had bullied and cheated it. It all came crumbling down when invaders came to it's planet and sent it to another world as its kind were mercilessly slaughtered.

That was where the vision I saw came to an end. I looked at the beast and it looked with relived eyes that it was going to meet it's family. By the end my sword had claimed it's life.
