Ch.8 I just wanted to be Happy

"Well I guess you loved it didn't you." Even with her depressive reaction, he didn't let it get to him as getting angry or acting rash is not going to be a good solution.

After eating, she curled up again in a ball and just started a ceiling without saying anything.

"Uhh." Although he wanted to do something, there was something bigger for him as she was still half-naked and he could see everything.

"Well, how about taking a shower first due to last night's stuff." Even though he didn't want to bring up that topic, he at least wanted her to do something about her half-naked state as it was too distracting for him.

'How are these body proportions even real.' He still can't believe that such a girl exists as he never saw someone like her unless they had surgery.

"Hmmm…." She stared at the ceiling for a few minutes before standing up, still in a half-naked state without worrying about Oga looking at her.

"Here, take this and be safe." Instead of looking at her body, what he saw was her eyes which were looking dead, holding almost no emotion.

"Hmm." She once again just nodded to his words and went to the bathroom while picking up the clothes from his hands.

"This is worse than I expected." He mumbled lightly while looking at her back with regret as it seemed like the stuff from last night affected her worse than she expected.

"Well let's deal with this first." Scratching his head in frustration about being able to do nothing, he first decided to wash the dishes to focus his mind on something else.

A few minutes went by as he finished washing dishes but she still hadn't come out of the bathroom.

"At Least she is not just standing there blankly." He could hear the shower noise so he thought that she was not just standing in there absentmindedly.

"Or is she?" He had some doubts due to her previous behaviour but he can't do anything about it right now.

Realising that he was once again alone in the room, he once again went back to the couch and opened the TV even though it was just filled with porn.

"It's better than remembering her once again." He didn't want to once again suffer from that suffocating feeling and distracting his mind seemed like the best idea.

"Why is it censored now?" The moment he opened the videos, he was surprised to see censored porn in a place where people have sex.

"Looks like Japan has some weird laws." Looking into his memories for an answer, he was once again baffled as it just seemed so weird to him.

"Oh well, beggars can't be choosers I guess."

Even though he was watching the porn to distract his mind, it couldn't distract him at all but luckily his mind was focused on someone else.

"I need to do something about Chifuyu." He mumbled absentmindedly as he knew she was depressed right now and might commit something unthinkable if she was left alone.

"I have some responsibility too." He couldn't help but laugh at this situation as even though it was not him who did all that at the start, he couldn't just run away from it as his conscience wouldn't let him do it.

"And I don't want to see her next time on the news." 

Deciding to do something, he thought about what to do but couldn't think of anything as it was his first time dealing with something like this.

"Dealing with a depressed girl is kind of tough." He couldn't help but feel that it was like walking on eggshells and one wrong step could ruin it all.

"But what about me?" He couldn't help but think as he was also suffering from something similar and instead of finding any peace, he was now in this situation where he had to take care of someone who was just like him.

"I just wanna disappear." He just felt like leaving everything and running away but he knew even that was not going to help him.

"Ugh it just hurts and it's annoying." A sinking feeling took over his body that made him filled with depressive thoughts even though he didn't want to have those.

Slowly he curled up in a ball while shivering a little as this situation was becoming too much for him and with no help from someone, it made it even worse.

"Why me? I just wanted to be happy?" He thought he just wanted to marry his girlfriend who had been with him for years, have kids and then grow old together with her.

"Why? Why did you have to do that?" At that time he wanted to ask her various questions but also wanted to run away from her as he feared what the answers were going to be.

"Maybe if only I wasn't picked up that day then it would have been better." He thought about the fateful day his parents left him in front of the orphanage and the day he first arrived at his first home.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" He shouted with frustration as even though he wanted to escape from this feeling, he wasn't able to do so and this feeling kept sinking him deeper and deeper.

"I…" The moment he felt like he was almost fully immersed in that feeling, he felt like someone patting his hair lightly.

The warmth of that touch made him feel a little better as that sinking feeling slowly started to disappear.

"It's going to be all okay." He heard a feminine voice speaking to him slowly, almost like talking to a crying baby.

And he immediately realised the owner of the voice and was surprised, "Chifuyu?"

"Yes?" The moment she heard his voice, she went to her normal voice which sounded a little distant but she didn't stop stroking his head.

By her gesture, he couldn't help but smile and feel a little better and uttered some words to her which made her stop stroking his head in surprise, "Can you forget about this?"
