Awakening! 2!

Chapter 6

He slowly placed his palm on his hurting cheek as he watched her quickly storm out of the room without bothering to question him about his main reason for bringing her there.

He had told her he would tell her once they got there and she seemed okay with it but their journey had been far more perilous for her than she had anticipated.

Perhaps it was the reason for her sudden outburst but he didn't want to ponder much on it.

" Well, so much for her hand being able to reach her face." He thought, falling to his knees, " Now I'll just have to wait until it finally happens."

Ding!

[Target has achieved a milestone: External energy talent awakening]

[Obtaining tenfold the rewards]

[Semi-rank five light energy control]

" So that's how far she managed to get with her awakening. Thank goodness I decided to go on with the experiment rather than wait for her." He mumbled as he slowly got up from the floor.

He was done with what he had come for and slowly walked away after that from the shrine.

A bright smile was on his face as he thought about every other expectation and aspiration he had.

His external awakening was one thing he had wanted to happen but never came; without light, there couldn't be fusion and so the inability to perform the art of sorcery.

He had been lucky so far but he couldn't get ahead of himself; if there was one thing he feared then it was the fact that the system went against the direct laws of nature.

When he returned home he got right back to training but it wasn't physical this time.

Seated on the ground with his legs crossed and his palms placed together below his chin, he closed his eyes and began to concentrate.

The feeling was quite strange; it wasn't familiar and yet it felt like it had been lingering, just waiting for the right time to sprout in him.

He could feel it swirling around him but it refused to go in him no matter how hard he tried to control it; it was because he hadn't awakened or mastered any form of sorcery yet.

He slowly opened his eyes to see that the leaves surrounding him had been swept away by the energy that had swirled him around just a minute ago.

" I wish I could help her awaken her innate talent but I doubt she'll want to talk to me again after what happened." He thought walking back to his room.

His sister returned home a while after that with guards behind her as expected. He didn't what exactly it was she had gone to do but for some reason, their parents still weren't home yet.

They both sat opposite each other as they were served their meals; rice with miso soup and other side dishes to go with the meal.

They both picked up their chopsticks after they were done with their prayer but he was reluctant to begin eating.

The thought of what could be his innate talent had begun to bug him ever since he managed to achieve light energy control, or external talent as most would call it.

" Hey sis," he called out, slowly looking up at her, " what do you think will be your innate talent since you've already managed to realize your external awakening long before now?"

She paused for a moment as she returned the intent gaze she was receiving.

Normally she would ignore him but it had been a while since she had seen him talk to her without the usual annoying smile on his face.

" The blessing of the cursed eyes — the same innate talent as mother's. She was the one who made the information known based on certain theories of hers." She said, continuing with her meal.

" Great, I'll just ask Mum when she comes back then."

The smile appeared on his face once again as he graciously finished up his meal.

He remained at the table even after he was done with his meal, his gaze kept on his younger sister.

He still had a lot of questions he wanted to ask her but didn't know how to start; the response he had given earlier was simply a way to hide the surprise that had built up in him at that moment.

The cursed eye was a talent with hereditary tracing since time due to how rare it was; there hadn't been enough information to prove whether it was hereditary or not.

The talent she had spoken of was a visual prowess that aided their mother to make her one of the strongest sorcerers in existence only for such a power to be passed down a single generation later.

The possibilities of her or the next five generations after her inheriting the talent were zero to thirty percent.

" Go to your room if you're done eating." She said, standing up with the plates firmly held.

He bit his lip as he stood up and slowly walked back to his room; it seemed that his questions would have to be answered another day.

*******

He woke up the next day feeling unusually tired; his entire body was trembling and he was feeling hot as well.

He managed to get up from his bed and slowly walked to the bathroom to brush his room.

He was still quite short so he would have to stand on a small chair so his face would be visible to the mirror and also make it easier for him to grab a hold of his toothbrush.

Getting the paste onto the brush was now a chore due to the unusual trembling his hand was experiencing but he slowly looked up at the room after he finally succeeded.

His face had turned red and there were bags under his eyes; they weren't due to undersleep since he made sure to get a good amount of sleep the other day.

" With my current amount of innate energy, it should be almost impossible for me to fall sick." She thought, slowly raising the toothbrush to his lips.

That was when his gaze went blurry and he fell backwards from you chair he was standing on.

The back of his head went against the wooden floor and he instantly passed out cold.
