The tall man walked up to me and apologized for his companions, assuring me that they had no malicious intent. "Excuse my friends, they really mean no harm."
It was clear he was not a typical person; his broad shoulders were well-defined and clearly visible under his all-black outfit with a hint of green at the top. His hair was short and fluffy while his eyes were a vibrant green hue.
I was intrigued by the fact that he had a shiny silver long sword strapped to his back. Could this man be an adventurer? I thought to myself.
Through the countless books I've read up on, I learned about adventurers. To put it short and simple, adventurers are individuals who are signed in by any guild to earn money or rewards in general by completing quests. Adventurers can vary from F to SS rank and they all also carry a card of identification showing that they're actually adventurers and also there rank.
The towering figure in front of me piqued my interest, so I inquired, "Are you an adventurer?"
They paused for a moment and exchanged looks before bursting into laughter. "Kid, you're a real comedian!" the tall man declared.
After a while they calmed down themselves and the tall man respond, "Well to answer your question, we're not adventers. Infact kid we're thieves!" I was taken aback, so I let out a few blinks of shock, "Eh, you're kidding right?" I said to him. He answered, "I'm serious! We are thieves."
I sarcastically commented while barely containing my laughter, "I guess it makes sense why your friends are dressed up as ninjas, do you all go around stealthily in the dark?" His subordinates detected my sarcasm and instantly had an irritated and embarrassed expression on their faces.
The tall man said sternly, "Listen here, kid you're a long way from home and it's not safe here. Do your parents know you're here?" I responded in a firm voice, "That's none of your concern."
The tall man kneeled and looked into my eyes, seeing that I was not like the average child. My gaze was that of someone who had experienced a great deal of hardship and suffering and was now at a point of having nothing left to lose. The tall man's demeanor suddenly shifted from being upbeat and cheerful to a much more serious one. He crossed his arms, one hand resting on his chin, and entered a thoughtful state. His gaze moved around as if he was truly pondering something.
He looked in my direction once again and asked, "Say kid, would you like to come along with us?
