Chapter 9

Brixter moved and sat on top of the office table. His arms are crossed in front of him as he urges Jarx to give him his plans and solution.

This moment made Jarx remember Zesther's words last night. Is he really a tactless person that would simply charge head-on without any plan in mind?

This brought a bitter taste to his mouth. He is normally a mild-tempered person but he also has his own pride and pettiness.

Others can be right as much as they want aside from Zesther!

"Good work, Mr. Jarx. I 100% believe that you will be able to take responsibility for your own mess" Brixter said sarcastically while clapping his hands

A hint of crimson blush tainted Jarx's cheeks

"Sir Brixter..." Kenzo called out but Brixter ignored him

The CEO fished out his phone from his pocket and fiddled with it for a moment before stretching out his hand to hand it over to Jarx

"If you don't have any solution in mind, why don't you look and see if this will work?" Brixter said and Jarx curiously stared at the phone in his hand

If not, and the movie is really going to have an adaptation, our PR can release an official statement that you are not the Jarx Elrod on the marriage certificate. Jarx of course knew that. That's why if the novel will have a movie adaptation, Jarx and Zesther has to be the main actors to justify his reactions

"If you can convince that man to act with you, that would be for the be—" Brixter swallowed his words as if he had just seen a demon. All the hair on his body stood up but Jarx did not notice that

The actor stared at his phone and his manager back and forth

"J-Jarx... t-there would be a better solution than that..." Kenzo said but that just helped Jarx make a decision

If it was just for himself, Jarx would definitely not even think about starring in a movie with Zesther

However... his manager is too kind to him... the CEO of the company is shouting and scolding that kind manager... Jarx's success is his manager's success and his failure is also his manager's failure...

Jarx's career is on the brink of ruins and his kindhearted manager might continue to be scolded...

The choice is clear to make. This is not a choice that Jarx can just make for himself. This is a choice that would not only affect him. He might not be a Saint but he value the affection and kindness that other people give to him

Jarx resolved himself as he took a deep breath before facing Brixter again

"Sir Brixter, no matter what I have to do, I will convince Zesther to act with me" Jarx said in a serious tone and Brixter raised his eyebrow

"Zesther?"

Jarx gave himself a mental slap at that. Others would call his ex-husband with his second name or surname

His first time is reserved for the people that are close to him like his family

Jarx is too used to calling that bastard Zesther using his first name and he had a slip of tongue which made him embarrass

"I-I mean Mr. Nixon. I will do my best to convince him but please promise me that you wouldn't do anything to my manager"

Brixter nodded his head. "That is natural"

Although Brixter said that, Jarx is still harboring doubts. "My manager is kind and always does his job seriously. Please don't make things hard for him. If not, I would have to sue you for mistreatment of your employee"

Jarx left those words before walking away and Kenzo followed him after giving Brixter a glare

"Jarx! Jarx! I know that you are unwilling, you don't have to do this!" Kenzo said anxiously and Jarx faced him

"Kuya" he said while holding Kenzo's hands with his. "You have always been nothing but kind and attentive to me all these years"

"That's natural! I'm your manager and friend!"

"I know, and that is also the reason why I have to do this. Besides, it's just acting together in a movie. How hard could it be? There is no need to overcomplicate things"

Despite saying that himself, Jarx still vowed to himself that nothing novel-like would happen between him and Zesther while shooting

He is familiar with this kind of plot and Jarx absolutely wouldn't reignite the spark of love between him and his ex-husband. Not that there was a spark in the first place since it has always been one-sided on his part

"Kuya, I'm an adult. I know what I am doing. Just because I am unwilling doesn't mean I won't do it. I'm already in my twenties, I'm not immature"

At this moment and case, Jarx cannot be immature. He is already 23 years old, approaching his mid-twenties

Kids can not do things if they don't want to but Jarx cannot be like that
