Trickery of Women

Huan Xue pursed his lips into a thin line and did not bother to spare a glance at the retreating figures. It was his first time meeting such a persistent lady.

But, even for a dignified man like him, there would always be a first time.

He slowly walked toward his room and sat on the bed. Pondering upon the strange encounter that just happened, he could not help but slowly shook his head.

"If Master Xia is here, he would surely praise me for my wit!" Huan Xue muttered to himself and stretched his long legs. Simultaneously, he twisted his neck side by side to feel relaxed. He had never run like a clown in the street in his entire life. But, today, he somehow participated in such foolishness!

While his thoughts started to wander again, Huan Xue suddenly heard the light sound of footsteps outside his room. Such lightness was something that no ordinary people could do.

Just as he was about to stand, a strong force hit the door of his room, instantly allowing entry to whoever was outside. Some shard of woods went in his direction, but he easily flung his sleeves in the air to block it.

"Was it you who flirted with my wife?" a hostile voice of a man came towards the other side. He was clad in a maroon robe with a bright yellow token hung on his belt. But, being a foreign person in the South, Huan Xue was not familiar with the token.

Before Huan Xue could respond to the intruder, a familiar figure appeared behind the man. This was one of the ladies that accompanied Xuan Mei.

To be exact, this was the lady that described his eyes as forest leaves!

"Mister, the lady is your wife?" Huan Xue calmly asked. There was no trace of emotion on his face. He checked the man's elixir field and easily sensed the blood-red aura on it. The man must be a martial arts cultivator!

"Yes! The servants of our Xuan Sect had reported to me. You have flirted with Xuan Xi! You must give me an explanation!" the man demanded.

Huan Xue glanced at the lady and noticed a visible smile curled on her lips. She seemed to be satisfied to see how her husband was scolding him.

"Ahh... Mister, I did not flirt with your wife. I rejected her," said Huan Xue as he clasped his hands together. A mysterious string of red vines suddenly appeared on his palm.

The string of vines was similar to the formation he had placed in the Scarlet Islands' territory. Though, it was currently much more thinner, perhaps because it was affected by his power depletion.

In just a split second, a vine leaped out from the string and landed on the floor. It swiftly twirled its body several times as if creating air around its space.

Then, it revealed the five faces that approached him at the entrance of his pavilion. The scene of how Xuan Mei asked him to be their cultivation partner started to flicker and play on the floor.

Just like what Huan Xue had told to elder Xia, he would never put down his guard. Even if it was a weak and helpless woman.

The elder had been lecturing him about how malicious the cultivators were outside their region. And he always put the elder's lectures in his heart.

There was no need for Huan Xue to explain. And there was also no need for the man to pursue him.

The scene on the floor even extended until Huan Xue was bubbling his nonsense alibi about having a cultivation partner. But, he remained calm and gave the lady a challenging look.

'You wish to trap me? No one in this world is capable!' he proudly thought.

As for the intruder, the man coldly faced his wife with his hands tightly clenched into a fist. The complexion of his face turned almost as red as his clothing.

"Very good! Very good! Xuan Xi, you even bribed the Xuan Sect servant to make a false report to me! Very good! " the man repeatedly spoke while looking at the lady. But his tone was not a sound of a compliment. Not only he had embarrassed himself. His wife ultimately embarrassed him!

Huan Xue waved his hand and the vine instantly vanished. He could also feel the power in his elixir field getting strained.

"Mister, I need to rest. Do you have other things to say?" Huan Xue asked the man. He looked indifferent as he sat on his bed.

"Sorry to disturb you, brother. It is my sister, Xuan Mei, who is probably playing an underhanded trick and instructed my wife. She does not really take refusal as an answer. I am just too ignorant and was led by my emotions too. We will take our leave," the man expressed and dragged his wife away.

Nevertheless, he still defended his lady in front of Huan Xue and place the blame to his sister.

Huan Xue could roughly guess that the token hung on the intruder's waist was probably for the Xuan Sect heir. He stared at the damaged door for a while and sighed. "A woman with no sense of loyalty... and a man with no sense of responsibility! What a perfect pair! Since you destroyed the door, you should fix it too!"

He looked disappointed but he still raised his hand and a faint green aura appeared in the air. It slowly flowed towards the door and gathered all its shards. Soon after, the door was completely repaired.

"The women in this region are really something. In just a day, two women already performed outstanding trickery! If I am an ordinary man, I would have fallen for it! That Lady Zhou caused me to run like a fool. And that Lady Xuan Xi tried to blackmail me! Fortunately, I am prepared," Huan Xue lamented.

If Qiaolian would have hear his words, she will surely object to the trickery allegation. Perhaps, she would clap back at him and say, "Who told you to run? Did I ask you to run like a fool?"

As the light of the day started to vanish in the sky, Huan Xue decided to venture out of the night for beast hunting. He needed a fine beast core to remedy his depleted elixir field power.

He managed to meet two beast hunters on the road and asked them about a good place to hunt the fine beast.

"Just join us. We will be hunting the most expensive beast in the entire Boundless Shoreline! HAHAHA," one of the beast hunters suggested with a generous smile on his face.

"E-Expensive?" Huan Xue repeated, somehow intrigued. As far as his memory is concern, hunting beasts had never been categorized as expensive or cheap!

"You don't know? It's that Lady Zhou Qiaolian! WAHAHAHA... She is the expensive beast! After the ruckus that she caused this afternoon, all business owners were naturally angry. Now, they also put an official request to capture her with a fee of 10 million gold!"
