The Favor She Asks

"Steal my elixir field? HAHA----PFFT!" Qiaolian sealed her lips together, but her eyes gave way to the slight amusement she felt.

The complexion of her face had considerably changed into a shade of lush bright pink. And when her lips were tightly shut, her cheeks resembled that of a cherub, giving the impression of a tempting angelic blush.

Standing just inches away from her, Huan Xue was momentarily stunned by the appeal of her beauty. It was really a scene to behold.

Meanwhile, Qiaolian dared to meet his green eyes and directly stared at the man. For a few seconds, she almost forgot the entire situation of her chaotic energy.

She just wants to burst into a pit of laughter. In fact, if her movement was not restricted, her shoulder would certainly tremble in delight.

The man had spoken his intention, but, how could her response be so odd? Huan Xue was extremely bewildered. Is there something wrong in her head?

Ahh... But Qiaolian was more than clear of her own thoughts. As proud as the Master of Scarlet Islands, how could this man venture out of his territory and start stealing elixir fields?

He had been in seclusion almost his entire life just so he could focus on his enhancement. He was but a master who knows where to put his endeavor for a greater cause.

Qiaolian just knew that Huan Xue would probably embrace death rather than exploit others' elixir field.

Stealing her elixir field? There was no way he would do such an act on her!

So, hearing him spoke it so casually brought immense humor to her.

On the other side, Huan Xue could not help but raise his brow at Qiaolian's strange reaction. How can Lady Zhou be at ease?

She could no longer move her body but she was obviously suppressing her laughter! Isn't this situation something that should not be funny at all!?

With an unfaltering gaze, Huan Xue spoke calmly. "My lady, I don't think we have met in person before? I'm flattered that you've recognized Huan Xue! However, I don't think you've realized the situation you are in----"

"--- No need to talk about the situation, Master Huan. I am aware that I am in grave danger. But, since you are here, I can feel at ease! It is Qiaolian's honor to meet an unparalleled master. Your reputation had spread beyond this continent. It's only normal that I recognize you. If my movements are not restricted, I would surely offer an honorary bow!"

There was indeed a more serious situation than their unexpected meeting. Huan Xue was just not aware of it.

'Surely, there must be some sort of misunderstanding! Did she misheard what I just said?' Huan Xue secretly pondered a possible reason. As he stared longer at Qiaolian's face, his green eyes were clouded with deep confusion

They had been staring quite longer than necessary. Yet, none of them realized it. It was as if, they were inspecting their souls with such a convenient gaze.

But in reality, this was not a romance scene of two lovers caught in a trance. In fact, Huan Xue was trying to sense the elixir field of Qiaolian. And the lady had the same intention.

They had taken the opportunity inspecting each other's power!

He finally took a step backward and threw Qiaolian a look of suspicion.

In the same manner, they had found a result of their inspection and secretly pondered about it.

'She does not seem to be a forged practitioner!?'

'To be able to break the limits of the space in the elixir field, this man is really worthy of his reputation!'

"Hehe," Huan Xue masked his confusion with a rich chuckle. He then smiled at her and spoke, "My lady, those beast hunters can fall from your tricks. But, I am not gullible. Do you want me to release the restriction on your body so you can offer your honorary bow? Or perhaps, so you can escape?"

Qiaolian wanted to indulge more in their talk, but, her situation was getting worse. Seconds had considerably turned into minutes. Her skin was feverish as the effect of the herb was trying to evade not just her body but also her consciousness.

"Master Huan, I have a fine beast core in my pocket. Will you allow me to exchange it for a favor?"

"Hmm... Favor? You want---"

"I need you to help me circulate my energy. I was wrong and did not recognize the expansion of your elixir field. Now, I realized that you've truly broken the limit of its space! Truly praiseworthy! Well, we have the same type of elixir field. It should not be hard to guide my energy," Qiaolian interrupted before the man could speak his assumptions. Her tone suddenly turned serious. And the visible amusement on her face already vanished.

"G-Guide your energy?!---" Huan Xue was astonished to hear such a friendly request, if not intimate.

How could she have so much trust in him so easily? No, what he should worry about was how this lady comprehended his elixir field!?

But, as his eyes darted on Qiaolian's entire body, he slowly realized that something was indeed wrong!

And he instantly knew that her request was not about her trust. It's just that, she had no other choice but to depend on him!

"Yes, it is the flow of my inner force. And, ahh! Master Huan, do not remove your restriction on my body. Just help me guide my inner force. I have suppressed my energy but it won't be long until my consciousness will be affected."

There was a glint of hope in Qiaolian's eyes. But, this hope was simultaneously shattered when Huan Xue shook his head, indicating his refusal.

"My lady, it's not that I don't want to accept your request. It's just that I can't do it."

Huan Xue understood her situation. But, no matter how much he would be willing to help a temporary damsel in distress, he does not have enough power!

With the expansion of his elixir field, his green aura could even barely occupy the vast space.

And he had circulated his remaining energy to maintain his crimson vines.

"I see. It's fine. I understand. Qiaolian is not from the Scarlet Islands. Master Huan had no obligation to help me control the flow of my inner force. It was such an insolent request. But, I hope Master Huan would not be offended if I lost control of my remaining consciousness."
