Reed me until 900 - #14

Gavin arrived at the precinct with a sense of unease gnawing at him. His night had been anything but restful, his mind plagued by fragmented images of the dream that had left him both aroused and unsettled. The cold shower hadn't done much to clear his thoughts, and now, standing in the precinct, he felt a strange mix of anxiety and anticipation. He wasn't ready to face RK900, not after the vivid dream that still clung to his memory like a shadow.

As he made his way to his desk, he spotted RK900 already there, looking as composed and efficient as ever. Gavin's heart skipped a beat, and he cursed inwardly, trying to push away the thoughts that had been haunting him and the blood running to his dick. The android's presence was almost too much to bear after what had happened—both in the dream and in reality... Yes. REALITY. Why didn't he say anything about the kiss?!

"Morning," Gavin muttered, his voice gruffer than usual as he passed by RK900.

"Good morning, Detective," RK900 replied, his tone as neutral as always, but there was a slight hesitation before he spoke as if he was processing something. Gavin noticed the pause and it made him feel more on edge. Did RK900 know something? Had he been thinking about that night too? He shook his head, trying to dispel the impossible thoughts. He had to focus on the case. And the android proved lots of times how he wasn't interested in emotions and stuff.

They spent the morning sifting through the remaining data, their work interrupted occasionally by the murmur of other officers or the clatter of keyboards. The tension between them was thick with unspoken words and unresolved emotions. Gavin kept his distance, his eyes flicking to RK900 every now and then, watching the android as he worked. The memory of his dream, and the feeling of RK900's lips on his, made his stomach twist in a confusing mix of arousal and guilt. His jeans getting slightly tighter than moments ago.

Just as the silence between them started to become unbearable and he was about to confront RK, Hank walked over, his usual gruff demeanour somewhat softened by the morning coffee in his hand.

"Morning, kids," Hank greeted, his voice a little too cheerful for Gavin's liking. "How are we doing today? Solved the case yet?"

Gavin gave a half-hearted shrug, forcing himself to focus on the task at hand. "Still working on it, Hank. Got a lot of shit to sift through."

Hank glanced between Gavin and RK900, his sharp eyes noticing the tension. "You two look like you're about to snap at each other's throats. Everything alright?"

"Everything's fine," Gavin snapped, a little too quickly. "Just… tired. Long night."

Hank raised an eyebrow but didn't press the issue. Instead, he turned his attention to RK900. "How about you, boy? Anything new on those drives?"

RK900's LED flickered briefly as he processed Hank's question. "We've uncovered additional fragments of data, but it will take more time to assemble a complete picture. There are still encryption layers that need to be broken."

"Good, good," Hank said, nodding. "Keep at it, both of you. This case is a tough one, but I've got faith in you. And Connor wishes you good luck... He wanted to offer some help but he's stuck with some shitty case from Marcus..."

Hank's words were meant to be encouraging, but they only added to the pressure Gavin was feeling. He forced a tight smile, nodding at the older man as he turned to leave. As soon as Hank was out of earshot, Gavin let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding.

RK900 turned to look at Gavin, his expression unreadable. "Detective, are you certain everything is alright? Your physiological signs indicate elevated stress levels."

Gavin gritted his teeth, feeling the heat rising in his face. "I'm fine, RK. Just… let's get back to work, alright? And stop scanning me!"

RK900 didn't respond immediately, his blue LED flickering as if processing something deeper. But then he nodded, turning his attention back to the data without another word. The moment passed, but the tension lingered, heavier than before.

As the day wore on, the pressure continued to build. Every little thing seemed to get under Gavin's skin—the way RK900 spoke in that calm, measured tone, the way his eyes seemed to follow Gavin's every movement, the way their hands brushed against each other when they both reached for the same document. It was all too much, and Gavin could feel his control slipping, inch by inch.

Finally, it reached a breaking point. RK900 was standing too close, explaining something about the latest decryption progress in that maddeningly calm voice, and Gavin just… snapped.

"Could you just f*cking back off for a second you dipsh*t?!" Gavin barked, shoving his chair back with more force than necessary. "I can't think when you're breathing down my neck like some psycho!"

RK900 blinked, stepping back immediately, his expression neutral but his blue LED flickering slightly. "My apologies, Detective. I did not intend to intrude on your personal space."

Gavin ran a hand through his hair, trying to calm himself down, but the anger was still simmering just beneath the surface. "Yeah, well, just… give me some space, alright?"

For a moment, there was silence. Then, in a move that surprised even Gavin, RK900 took a step forward again, this time closing the distance between them in a way that felt deliberate, almost predatory. Even RK himself didn't realise that - he was too occupied with how he wanted the situation to change as it felt like at the beginning of their partnership... and he did not want to return to how things were back then.

"Detective," RK900's voice was lower, softer, as he leaned in just slightly, his eyes locking onto Gavin's with an intensity that made the detective's breath hitch and his cock twitch. "If there is something else troubling you, it would be more efficient to address it directly."

Gavin's heart was pounding in his chest, his mouth suddenly dry. The heat between them was almost unbearable, and for a moment, he thought he might actually lose control. "What the f*ck are you doing, RK?"

RK900 didn't answer, but there was something in his eyes, something that made Gavin feel like he was standing on the edge of a cliff, ready to fall.
