Chapter 113

"What do you mean, she doesn't live here?" Parker fisted the sweatshirt Maddie had left in the backseat of his car last night and glared at Miles. He figured he'd swing by and bring it to her after dinner with his folks, perhaps sneak in a make-out session since he sorely needed a fix, but the Rec Center director was claiming she didn't live in the complex where he'd dropped her off countless times.

A shrug and helpless expression was all Miles offered. "Sorry, sheriff. She doesn't, nor has she ever resided here."

Parker glanced at the two other buildings, then the three across the street. Maybe her apartment was in one of those? But, no. She'd gone into this complex when he'd driven her home. "You're her boss at the center. Did she put an address on her application?"

"When she first applied, she listed the former Freemont Mansion. I remember because I had to have her update it for our records last year. She has a P.O. Box on file now."
