Brittney was almost asleep during orientation in the large cafeteria "Brittney how much sleep did you get last night" "maybe an hour, my parents were arguing" Cody held her head up for the announcement "whoever you were roomed with last year you stay unless we move you around because we have more students this year" they had papers with numbers on it "of course were in the same room as last year" he looked over to Brittney passed out on the table "ill carry her, our bags are already there" Damon picked her up and carried her marriage style still sleeping. They walked in the room with four separate beds with curtain holders "put her in the bed closest to the bathroom" Cody grabbed her bags and put one of his blankets to cover her "just let her sleep Damon" he put his stuff up trying to be quiet , she woke up and blocked her eyes from the light "holy shit what time is it" "well good morning sunshine, you missed the news" "that doesn't answer my question what the hell is the time" "7:30 classes start tomorrow so you wanna go get coffee" "can I get fixed up first I look like a mess" "sure" she grabbed some casual clothes and fixed her hair "hey new beds nice" Ryan came into the room holding a duffel bag "lets get out of here Britt" he motioned her out the door "hold up I haven't seen my bitch since last year" he grabbed her arm and slammed her to the wall "I'm nobody's bitch" "Ryan is it, your the rat bastard that hurt her" Cody grabbed his shirt turning him around "Cody its fine I have it" she touched his arm "what he did was not fine Brittney, lets go" he pushed him on the floor letting Brittney go out first. Cody took her to the diner for coffee and breakfast "Cody why were you so rough with him" "here's a better question. why do you want to protect him?" she looked down "because he can hurt me, with a single touch of my hand he can hurt me" she pulled off her necklace and showed the mark "when was that put on you, and how can it hurt you" "when I used to make him mad he grabbed my wrist and made me see what he did again, he put it on when it happened" she put back on her necklace scared "your shaking Britt" he held her hand down on the table "please don't touch him again or he'll hurt me, I'm already running from my uncle" "just know that I'll find some way to get him for this" "please don't, id rather just avoid him" she went to the nearest store for curtains "these look dark enough their black out and their blue" she checked the tag and found the ones "don't you need any, I hardly spend my rather large allowance" "no I'm fine" she paid and went back to set up her area. The next day in homeroom she sat in the front and Ryan plopped right beside her "excuse me, sir, this is my assigned seat" Damon pulled him off the chair and sat down "hey Damon" "what the hell was that about, I sat down first" "sorry the only seat available now is way up there, so get going buddy" he pointed up to the very top "fine" he mumbled under his breath going off "children where your sitting now is your seats for the rest of this year" she made sure to keep Ryan at bay the rest of the day, Brittney's arm was violently grabbed throwing her on a wall "baby why are you avoiding me, you know I love you" Ryan's hand slide down her face "leave me alone Ryan" she tried to walk away pushing him "fine you think you big and bad just remember one think, I own you" he forced her hand to touch her neck "that doesn't hurt me anymore keep your garbage hands off me" she pushed him to the floor and went outside to study with Cody and Damon. Once Brittney got alone she shuttered doing homework sitting on her bed when Damon slid in "sup I'm here to wreck your bed" he jumped on it "Damon get off I'm trying to do homework" "your heads always in the books, put it down and have some fun" "I'm waiting till to tomorrow night the carnivals coming, Cody's taking me" "oh Brittney and Cody sitting in a flame tree k.i.s..." Were trying to stay on the DL" he poked at her laughing "well isn't that cute, as long as your happy" "shut up before Ryan gets here" she slapped her book to his chest rolling her eyes, that Saturday night she meet Cody at the school gate in her mid thigh black dress "Britt, its a carnival not a fancy restaurant" "I know but I don't where this dress to often" he kissed her cheek and left with her to the ticket booth "two fast passes" "alright" he put the bands on them and they went on to have their fun "please I really don't need that" "none sense" he won her a large teddy bear "ill love it forever Cody" she got on her tip toes and kissed him.

Brittney had just got done with her work when Ryan grabbed her shoulder "hey baby" "not touch me I'm not yours" she shook him off and walked away "stop it" he gripped her shoulder "what the hell do you want" he kissed her and Brittney shoved him off "don't you ever touch again" she stormed outside to meet the boys "hey tree study hour" she and the boys did homework and started to play around.

She sat on her bed reading a letter from home while two boys wrestled "that's nice" she started packing for Xmas vacation laughing at them "what are you two fighting about now" "I have no idea" they shouted looking at her "Cody there's something that might cheer you up" "what is it" she unfolded the letter and handed him another folded piece "my mom sent me a letter and an invitation to meet you and your family at Xmas" "ill have to sleep on it but id love to meet your family, I mean the whole student body knows were together" "Ryan's not so pleased with that fact" "oh screw him" he giggled watching Damon roll around his bed like a puppy. Brittney sat in her room with the teacher being taught the alliances "let her have a break maybe 10 minutes Edgar" "yes ma'am" he walked out of the room "did you get my letter, id love to meet this french boy" "I did mom and I gave him the invitation" "did you hear, your father finally listened to me about kevin" "what did dad do about it" "he called the cops and put him jail, at least for a few years" she smiled and went back to her paperwork, she keep watching the window for Cody to come up "Brittney sit down, drink something" her dad handed her a small soda "sir a mister Brian Anderson from the next town over" "whos all with them" Brittney jumped up "........Anderson and Cody Anderson. Brittney was reading her books before bed with a major headache "Alice could you bring me something to get rid of my headache" "yes ma'am" she left the room and finished her nights reading then proceeded to walk around the halls "you ran away, you two got married out of position, and you three just didn't want the crown so what do you do. You passed on the duties to your youngest sister!, PRIDE! isn't that great" she sat and cried on the floor "miss is everything okay" "I'm fine Alice, thank you" she grabbed the knife off the tray and cut the painted portraits screaming "you 6 put this pressure on me, I hate you!" her mom heard the screams and came run to her "Brittney put that knife down" she cried on her moms shoulder after slowly dropping the knife "why mom, why did they do it" Amy rubbed her back "even though they were older they just weren't ready, if there were any more children I would gladly take this responsibly off you" "no ill do it I know I can, I may be mad at them but I can take this on I've been learning since middle school" "take this and go to bed, we'll fix those in the morning" her mom handed Brittney the water glass and the pill, she woke up with a cold rag on her forehead and her dad by her side "what happened" "my little demon you got sick last night" he smiled dabbing the back of his hand on her cheeks "you haven't called me that since Lisa left" "ah my envy daughter, I stopped because I knew you had so much pressure put you, it was difficult seeing you so stressed out I didn't look you in the eyes because I knew what I did" "dad I'm ready to learn all I need to be queen" "no, you wont be doing that today. take a rest day you've earned it" he wiped his tears "thank you daddy" she smiled and got out of bed to hug him. Brittney's mom took her the full spa treatment complete with manicures "this is wonderful and all mom but I have to get back to learning my duties" "Brittney your dad asked me to take you for a relaxing day because you were heavily stressed" "I know..." "no a couple of days off, promise me" "ok I promise, I know you and dad are worried" she sat back in the chair getting used to the feel of fingers on her feet "stop laughing you're making their job harder" "but this is the first one It tickles" the pedicure woman was laughing too, Amy put the books out of her sight so Brittney didn't go into constant work again.

The students made their way back to the dorms and put their clothes back "good morning students class starts in one hour" "shit and Damon's still not here" "what about Ryan" "oh who gives a shit, the way I see it he should drop off the face of the earth" "that's my girl" Cody hit her arm "rude that hurt" she fake offended "that's precious now get to class" he smiled and nudged her arm, they soon became the it couple at school but once it came out who Brittney was she started getting the extra special "this is why I didn't want everyone knowing" she huffed rubbing her temples "get away from me, leave me alone" she slammed the door to the room frustrated "do you know who told people" "no that's what makes the anger worse" she went in her area and hit her pillow. Cody gently touched her back when she had her face buried in the pillow "honey I know it's frustrating but talk to about someone" she screamed into her pillow "do you want me to lay next to you, I can get you comfortable to talk" "mhh" she mumbled into the pillow crying "ok" he laid with his back to wall stroking her hair "there's a reason I keep it a secret, I'm the youngest of the seven daughters and the only one to take the responsibility of the crown instead of running away" "I didn't know, I'm sorry" "they don't come around because their too afraid" "I know what that's like, I got two older siblings and lily" "your a good big brother" "I do what I can when I'm home and we can always talk to the principal about it, just calm down first" "I will" he waited with her until she was calm enough and took her to the principal's office. Cody kissed her cheek before she went into the office "next" Brittney got up and sat in front of the desk "Mrs. Lucio, what can I do for you" "um its recently come out that I'm the heir to the throne and now I don't like people swarming me being sickeningly nice" "ok young lady, just tell them not too" "well I have told them to treat me like any other student" "I'm sorry but that's all that can be done" "thank you for trying" she shook his hand and left out into the hall, they got back in the room. She started hearing rumors who told about the secret and hide behind her curtain "Britt, you okay" "fine Damon" he pawed at her laying on the bed "come on give me a smile" "if I smile will you live me alone" "maybe" he started tickling her "ok stop it please" she laughed squirrel fighting him off "okay ill stay here for emotional support" they heard the door open and both looked up "hey" Cody got nervous looking at her eyes "did you tell my secret " "no why would you ask" he nervously tugged on his collar before a big yelling match broke out "oh my lover's quale" Ryan sat on his bed laughing "tell me now" "ok I let it slip go what" "take this stupid promise ring back, you saw how I reacted and you faked it" she throws the ring at him crying, she still did homework with them but ignored Cody the rest of the year.
