Ryder's POV

"Oh my God, Ryder! You look very bad," Emma spoke the moment I opened the door for her.

I had just returned from the store where I met Ashley, and Emma informed me she was coming over.

"Just sit down, Emma. I don't know what to say," I mumbled and went to my table to continue drinking beer.

"No, Ryder, you can start with what happened today. I heard you went to Dante's mansion. That's a death wish."

"Damn you, Emma!" I shrieked, smashing the bottle of beer on the floor, "I have done every single thing I'm meant to do, yet Ashley hates me."

"You can't be raising your voice at me, Ryder. I wasn't the one who rejected her, forcing her to attempt ending her life," Emma spat.

"That's all you have to say to me, Emma? I didn't tell her to fucking try to kill herself," I seethed, grabbing another bottle of beer and gulping it.

"You are not helping yourself, Ryder," Emma's voice grew gentle.
