The man in the black shadow

Love and affection, might be meaningless to somebody but for Christiano who never experienced it before was something priceless. When he met Christiana , the empty spot which was left for a motherly affection in his heart, was filled by her. Even though she was not with him for many years, but still the time they spent together was enough for him to get to know the meaning of love. When she died, she left him devastated . He was in utter despair. Some sort of insecurity started creeping into his heart from then. He started to believing the fact that everyone leaves after a certain period of time so getting attached with them is meaningless. That is why he locked himself inside the four walls of his chamber in the tower. When he met Anne, he started getting the same warmth which he lost a long ago.

He did not want to loose it. A single frown on her face was enough to make him angry. When he saw Sebastian treating her like that , he got furious to the level he was ready to commit a murder. That night when everyone went to sleep, he secretly went out to visit Sebastian -

Sebastian was walking to and fro his room in his night robe. His dazzling dark blue hair was wet as he just came out from his shower. His eyes which was a mix of blue and green colour, was full of frustration. The humiliation he was going through due to the rumours and the kick from her in the middle of the street was enough to give him insomnia.

Right when he was biting his nail in anger, something clashed in his room. The whole lighting of the room started to blicker. A sudden pressure started coming out from something which started choking him.

"Who are you ", said Sebastian as he gasped for breath. He was unable to see his face because of poor lighting. All that he could see was a tall figure from which immeasurable pressure was oozing out.

"You do not deserve to know my name. " There was a certain anger and seriousness mixed in his voice. To correctly define it, it was blood-curdling.

The deep voice of Chirstiano made him flinched. He started shivering out of fair.

' Who the hell is he? Is it another burglar? '

With a stuttering voice he asked, " What do you want from me? "

He smirked with anger. " What I want from you Bitc* ?! Even the sight of your face makes me want to vomit. " With just one movement of his finger he took him by his neck and pushed him to the ground. With a dominating tone he said, " I see you one more time lingering around Lady Anne and disturbing her, I am going to cut your limbs and feed it to dogs. "

" I promise.. I won't. ", he struggled to say..

' Fu*k . Who is he? '

He then released him. " Just remember your words if you do not want to die by my hands." When he said that, Sebastian could see his right eye which was shining with the moon light. That eye was full of terror. It was enough to make a healthy man faint. Just like how he came, after finishing his words he disappeared in the thin air like bolt from the blue.

After he disappeared , the atmosphere of his room changed back to its normal appearance. There were goosebumps all over his body. His throat became dry as his anxiety level increased. " That terrifying figure... Who was that? ".

After Christiano return back to his room in Dukedom Frostwood, he saw Amina infront of him. " Long time no see Chris. " , said as she swindled her hair. Wizards do not age like normal human beings and lead a long life, so she still had looks like someone on their mid 20's. She was fair with chest nut brown long hair with one spec on her left eye.

Amina was friend of Christiana. After her death, she was really worried for him but he never allowed her to approach him. So, she always keeps a check on him from a distance.

" Tchh. Why are you here? "

" Should not I ask you the same? The effect of Robin's potion should remain for maximum seven days. Even after turning back into a human , why did not you return to the tower? "

He narrowed his eyes at her and said, " It's none of your concern. "

She took a sigh. She took off her specs and said , " I have not come here to fight with you. The master of the tower is dead. Now, the most suitable person to replace is you. "

He barged in and said, " I do not want to replace him. " He turned his head away from her trying to avoid looking at her eyes.

He gently patted his head, " Do not forget how much Christiana wanted you to become the mastar of the tower. "

He simply nodded his head. He wanted to refuse but by mentioning her name, she hit the soft corner of his heart. How could he not fulfill the wish of the person whom he loves so much?

Before leaving he placed a letter beside her bed and kissed her forehead. He leaned at her ears and whispered, " Until we meet again. "

The next day when Anne woke up she astonished to find that letter -

' Dear Lady Anne,

Last night I turned back into my human form. Due to some urgent matters back in the tower, I have to leave right now. We will meet again soon.

Yours Kitty'

She giggled as she read out the letter. " Oh my! He used to purr at me so much whenever I used to call him Kitty and now he is calling himself kitty. " Soon after realising the fact that he was no more there , she became a bit sad. " Wonder how he looks in his human form. Guess same like his angry kitty form. "

She smiled.
