Cost of smile.

Next day when she woke up, she felt tired, and felt her face hurting . And she looked at the ground, her eyes looking dead.

She left the house when the sun was already up, and she didn't go to her part time job either. She sat near the pond and looked at the huge pond below. She walked closer to the pond, a f looked at the murky water below, and looked at her face. It was bruised and the lip was split. But her focus went to her eyes, and she saw nothing. They were empty. And she stood there, and looked at nowhere, she was just staring blankly like a robot, her face covered with bruises, she looked down, hiding the bruises, which showed clearly on the water below, and she didn't looked at her own face at all.

She felt hungry, and went to her second shift of part time, and as soon as she entered the pizza joint her boss looked at her, but because of her lowered head, he didn't see her wounds.

" Ah, you came , right on time, again " Her boss said mockingly, it definitely wasn't the first time.

" You know, I started thinking you have left me, don't do that, my poor heart can't handle this' ' He said exesperly , Jaschering to his heart, and his comment got some chuckles from other staff .

And like any servant ,she ignored his comment and apologised for being late, not that she came late on purpose . And when she was going to change his outfit he stared at her butt and acted like a usual perv and weasel and she ignored that and changed herself .

And during her shift she works like a normal person, she does every single job over there, she cleans the floor and plates, sometimes she serves, sometimes she even cooks, less cooking though she barely cooks, even though she took the job as a cook.

The job would be half decent if her boss and other employees were not assholes, but she accepted it long ago so no worries.

She went to the bathroom, and washed her face with water, and she didn't look at herself, and looked down at the sink, her blood flowing down in the drain.

Her day went smoothly , as smoothly it can go it was better compared to other days, her boss was not being a dick her all employees were had present and customer were decent enough to not comment or give her second glance and She might be able to get her salary today and get off a little early as well. But maybe destiny had other plans for her, maybe the better one.

When she was going to ask for a early day off her other co workers had decided to go first for reasons that she didn't know and

had to work overtime again without any overtime, and the situation she is in she can't refuse, better she even didn't try to refuse. And get stuck with her boss again, and he gives her creeps, and when she thinks things can't get worse, something worse happens.

in the nighttime when the place was empty and she was only one in floor cleaning it with a groom some customers came and sat on a table little far from her, and first she didn't pay much attention to them but she hear them talking, they were bunch of college students or friends, there sounds were full of joy and happiness and they have came here to celebrate something, they were talking and one of his co worker who was still there took their order, and one familiar voice got her attention and she immediately knew why they are hear who they are. They were her sister's friends and they came here to celebrate her birthday, and she only hopes that they don't recognize her, and the way they are talking they didn't recognize her yet, and she didn't want to be recognized either. And just when she was thinking that a voice came .

" Ahy , can you please clean this table, it's a little dirty? '' One of her sister's friends said .

And she had to go there to clean, and she did that, she slowly reached there with a cleaning cloth and her sister's voices died down and she knew that she knew, and after that embarrassment took place, on both sides . And for a moment both parties didn't say anything, and an awkward silence took place, but it shortly died down when of her sister's friend break the silence , and the reaction she got it seems like they don't know her, and after when she was done cleaning, she looked at her sister for moment, and she was not happy for sure, she was furious and the reason was her, and she knew it. And she get back to her work, And in her sister corner one friend who knew who she was as a maid of course asked her about that girl in a curious tone, and she nodded in yes still feeling angry, and after seeing her down face a tall boy who noticed the tension asked them what happens, and did they have any problems? . And she angrily said 'no' but he was not satisfied and he kept asking her and after a long time asking she said ,

" She was an old friend of mine, and we kinda messed up last time " She said assuringly trying to look as calm as possible.

" Really! What's happening? " He asked curiously.

And that made her a little uneasy, and she tried to make an excuse but she was not good at lying , and when things were going more awkward she simply said , she's a little Jealousy type , and she hates how i looks and how she looks, you know, girl ego stuff! "

And after listening that he said,

" So ! Why that look? I can't get it "

And seeing that things are going little out of hand she simply let her emotions out ,

" She is a bitch, and I hate her ." And gave him a glare that showed hate.

And after some time things were going Smoothly and and they were partying like normal people, but she was not enjoying it, she kept looking at her direction in disgust, and one of his friend notice that and keep his voice down for the time being and when ushma was passing by she spank her butt and when she turn back he said,

" Bring me some drinks bitch "

And all of his friends stare at him and when he noticed everybody was watching him he simply shrugged them off by saying ' what ' he wasn't faced by that he simply said

" I was just plating puff, don't bother, she don't have a problem, do you? " " he asked her and she didn't say anything, the reasons were unknown to them. And when she went to get drinks her sister stared at him with a glare and asked him.

" What was that? "

And he answered by saying, ' nothing ' she deserves that, you said she's a bitch and one thing I know all bitches need to be punished. He said with a grin that promised no good and before anything more can be said she came back with drinks and when she was serving them her sister's friends try every single way to touch her and they kept trying to call her for shitty reasons like cleaning,they purposly spill their drinks and kept making mess it was not much but it was enough to make anyone uncomfortable , and for some reason she wasn't stopping them , she only tries to get away from them and by doing that she hears a sound of glass break and she closed her eyes and waited for her fate to arrive, waited for the yelling and chip comments. And she waited and waited, and after some little time they started there comments and for God sek her boss was not there for including some more, and she just tries to ignore there comments and started cleaning the floor, she can hear them calling her useless, calling her ugly and how unlucky will be husband , if she ever get one! And they laughed in every end . And she lost her senses and ones again she down her head , she hear them laughing at her talking about her mistakes commenting on her and in all of this she didn't saw their heads she only saw them like a cut picture who didn't capture the head. And she was thinking all that a figure came and stood in front of her and she gave him a side and he walk pass by her and suddenly all sound and voices died down all became silence and she didn't bother with that , she just think they got bore and stop, she completed her work and gather her belongings and started to move, but before she can take her fifth step and order came, and she stops someone just order something , and when she turn around she noticed that it wasn't from her sister's sight it was him, he who helped her. He judged the situation, and saw what was happening, and as soon as he enters, the other party stopped immediately, like they knew him. And they went deathly quiet. and she broke from her trance and got back to moving . And due to her sudden nature she forgot to notice her sister's side who has started talking again but this is not about her. And when she came he placed his and when she was going back her sister sight again tries to mess with her by telling her to clean the table once again they still think that it wasn't clean enough. And she was going to clean it but before she can do he called her and said ,

" I need my order , make it quick and make it twice , take some time but make it great " He said with a tone that said ' I don't care '.

And she listened to that and took some obvious time and she half expected that her sister and friends would leave but that don't maybe they didn't want some more fun. And when she came she ignored them like they were not there and placed his double order and when she was done with that they again called her for some nonsense but the one damaged eye guy stopped her and asked her to join him on the dinner . At first she was a little shock but she instantly got over it when she saw his face she knew it wasn't a request , and she sat down. And In her sister's sight , mumbling started about them , and that wasn't good, the chat was like.

And something like this and that . And they decided to entefiar with them and of course some of them wanted to get over it but didn't want that so they did what they can did, they called her boss and complain about late service and add extra jam on it, and they also point out to them and Ushma got little stifen by it, but and the man said her to calm down and don't worry, and when her boss called her , her answered for her, he simply told them to fuck of, she is with him and they have one extra employee if you may forget. He said in tone that said go fuck yourself, not directly but they got the jizt of it , and after that all became gone quite, they didn't know what else to say , and ushma kept munching on her food like no end , she was so lost in eating that she didn't care what Happening to her surrounding or else she didn't care , and the thing that break the silence was ushma's order for another plate, and when no one listen to her, he rase his voice and said,

"Didn't you hear? She ordered another one" He said to the shop owner and he ordered his last employe to fill that and his employee did that, and after some time her sister and her friends maybe have enough and decided to leave the place and after billing her sister give her a last glance and them left , and ushma has munched half the store up, and he had finished his lunch and right now he was looking at her face , he was waiting for her to finish but she was still munching her food , and for one moment he even think she'll never stop and fortunately she did after 3 more different plates of dishes , she was done she said thankyou to him , and he asked in sign language.

" Are you ok? " He asked. And she didn't reply.

And he didn't asked any other question , and they both kept sat there till the boss decided to close the store, they didn't talk anything better they don't know what to talk, and in this moment he think he is being like his old friend, and when they were outside he asked another question,

" You know them? " And the look he gave , he wasn't looking for it. And he simply nodded, and when they were in the bus station it was quite crowded, and there was an ice cream stand nearby, and she was looking in that direction, more accurately she was staring at that, and when he noticed it he asked bluntly.

" Do you want it? "

And she immediately shake her head in yes , and they both went for the store , and when they reach there she start looking at the ice cream fridge like a child and she wondering which one to peak, and she picked the cheapest one , and he think that far she would peak that, and he took a breath and said,

" You can eat whatever you want " He said closing his eyes and she immediately look at him like he is a some short of a god, and the look she gave he thinks she gonna cry, but before she can he said,

" If you cry ones again , I'll won't buy anything "

And she quieted down like a child, and start devouring every single thing in store , all were different and 'tasty' in her words, and the most she inhale the chips like no tomorrow and when he asked did you like chips, she nodded.

" Are chips your favorite ? " Asked the unknown man who gave her a smile.

and the smile she gave was worth a thousand times more than that, and that smile made him happy not on the outside , but on the inside.

And the next thing he knew he was going back home in a bus quietly, and he became happy himself. and for his world a slow violin and jazz music was playing inside the bus. And tears start to come from her eyes, and she starts to cry like a child, and tries to wipe them but to no avail, she had smiled, it was wrong, she can't smile, she has no right to smile, why did she smile, god is gonna punish her. And her cry becomes louder, so does the music.

And the next thing she knew was receiving a slap on face by his father, and the constant beating by belt . And music kept playing somehow.
