A door opened up, revealing the corridor which she had just come from. The two gave her an encouraging nod, showing the way out. She nodded back and walked out. The door locked behind her and the wall became just like an ordinary wall.
"Looks like you passed the trial. You're pretty brave"
"Yeah. Would I be able to locate the Brown again?"
"Yes. As long as you have passed the trial, you should be able to open a portal to the Brown"
"Thank you, Mirel. I don't know what your motives are yet but I'm still grateful. However, should the werewolves be at risk because of you, I will be sure to get rid of you"
"Nice to know you're still skeptical. I will not harm the werewolves if they bring no harm to the spirits"
"That's settled then"
"You two sound like a bunch of old merchants negotiating. Chill out, will you?" Irilium butted in with a grin. His blood-red eyes glowed in the dark and his fangs caught a glint of the moonlight.
"It's a full moon tonight. It's a good opportunity to test your powers. Come on, let's go"
"Alright" Olivia took Irilium's hand and the both of them walked back to the main palace, Mirel floating behind them. The events of the trial slowly faded in her mind, replaced with other things. Irilium chatted with her, telling her various things to get her mind off what had just happened. It didn't work but she was grateful for the gesture.
"So, how do I test out these 'powers'?"
"Your main ability is to confer the powers of the moonstone on the werewolves. If they are the top of their physical abilities and you deem them capable, they would be able to wield magic" Mirel answered.
"Hmm....Sounds okay. I know the first person I wish to confer this ability upon"
"Your father, am I right?"
"Prince Irilium, tell me, can you read minds?"
"I cannot. What I can do, is read a person effectively. Don't worry, Ava is already on her way with your father" he replied, winking at her. She just shook her head and smiled.
Jonathan arrived not long after, his huge frame towering over them. He pulled Olivia in a hug immediately, checking if she was alright.
"You this child, you scared me to death, you know that? Why didn't you tell me you were doing something dangerous?"
"I'm sorry father, it was sudden. I'm fine now"
"I can see that" Saying that, he glanced at Irilium. The latter grinned in return.
"So, why did you summon me here?"
"I want to bestow upon you magic father"
"Hun? Why me? There are other worthy guards and warriors. I'm just an old wereman trying to live up to a legacy"
"That's why you're the most eligible. Don't reject it father, I'll be very upset"
"Haha, alright, anything for my princess"
Olivia smiled and pat her father's huge hands. Everything he did made her warm inside. It made her forget what she had been through and try to please the wereman with a huge heart.
"So, Mirel, how do I do it?"
"You channel the power of the moon above into his heart. The core of magic is in the heart"
"Are you sure this is safe? Nothing would go wrong?"
"I can't assure you that. The survival of the Emperor is totally in your hands"
She sighed deeply.
"I shall do my best"
She closed her eyes and something stirred within her. Her body was enveloped in a white halo and the moon seemed to shine solely on her. She clasps her hands together and pulled apart slowly. A ball of white light formed within her hands till it was the size of a basketball. She moved closer to her father, opened her eyes, and pressed it to his chest, where his heart was.
He let out a piercing howl, causing the others to hold their sensitive ears and groan in pain. When the transfer was done, everything went back to normal. The only sign of what had happened was the prone form of Jonathan laying on the floor.
