Ame's Pov

Dispatching the dogs became somewhat easy as I now knew how to get rid of them. But now the rising challenge was the female golem attacking from the rear end. After I had destroyed about half of the fiery dogs, she started to toss magma balls at me anytime I closed in on a potential opening on the remaining dogs. And by the time only three were left, the ferocity of her attacks had increased to an annoying level. Using the orbs rotating in the air I drew them close to me before firing them in all directions at a high speed. The whizzing sound they made like arrows could be heard along with the deep thump as they made contact with anything before exploding. Using this chance as I had stunned the enemies attacking me, I did the only thing I could manage right now. I ran.

Running as fast as I could, I sniffed the air in hopes of finding any moderate-sized body of water. I had smelled it back then while fighting and now I was desperately following the scent. Going as fast as I could I sensed movement behind me. Taking a chance and glancing back I saw the golem and two of the flame dogs pursuing it. Wait for two? Where's the third one?

As if responding to my confused thoughts, something rammed into me so hard from the left I felt my shoulder dislocate and some ribs crack. Tumbling on the ground I rolled until I finally hit a tree. Sitting up with my back against the tree trunk I looked at the three dogs stalking toward me while the golem walked leisurely as if out for a morning stroll. It stopped a few feet from me before a mouth appeared on its smooth face and the corners turned up in a deadly smile. Quickly racking my brain on what I could do, a sharp pain in my abdomen brought me back to reality. Looking down I saw a crimson line that slowly started leaking and the metallic smell of blood filled my nose. Looking forward I realized the golem had used her whip on me and she now had a satisfied smile etched on her face as my world slowly faded into darkness.

Tora's Pov

Gripping my swords tightly in both hands a feral growl escaped my throat as I went at the monsters with reckless abandon. The bats were diving down at me from various angles and instead of trying to kill them outright, I focused on grounding them so they couldn't fly any longer. With power coursing through me, my body became a blur as I cut into them before they could realize what was happening. After grounding a good number of them, I began the real hunt. Jumping in their midst I stabbed both my blades into the ground letting a considerable amount of current run through the snow beneath our feet. This however didn't faze them at all.

"Dammit, Tora. You can't shock stone."

I mentally facepalmed. As I immediately switched tactics. Switching to blade work, I attack them with renewed vigor. Cutting through them and making sure to do it with enough force, I smashed their heads or simply took them clean off their shoulders. Evading a bat that came at me from behind, I stabbed its back with my smaller blade and then hopped on its back. Using the blade I steered the bat a few feet in the air till I was high enough to see a majority of the cats hiding in the trees as well as some other bats that had been flying low. Slicing off its head I hopped off and twisted my body in the air to avoid the barrage of arrows that had come from somewhere to my right. Immediately after I landed I tapped into Byakko's power and enhanced everything till currents became visible on my body. Channeling extra power into my legs, eyes, and blade I moved at a speed that was too fast for any of the creatures to see.

"INAZUMI NO KIBA"

Combining lightning speed and a double strike from my two swords I sped in a zigzag motion tearing through the were cats and bats that I had marked out from above. The technique made me seem like a blue blur to the naked eye and the stone monsters began blowing up after emitting blue light from their eyes for a moment.

The moment I came to a halt I felt a pain in my left right and looking down I saw three stone feathers sticking out of my leg. Looking at the winged Man, this was the first move he had made since the entire fight had ensued. His right hand was still outstretched as he began looking left and right.

Gritting my teeth, I pulled out the feathers and ran a current through my leg to at least stop the bleeding. Guess there was nothing I could do currently about a weak human body. The moment the thought crossed my mind, a counter thought from Byakko passed through and I had my answer.

"Alright. I'll give it a try."

Putting my swords back in their sheaths, I clasped my hand together and held them there as I started drawing power from the atmosphere all around me. It was like punching a hole in a dam. Power began flooding into me as I channeled it to every single part of my body. Once I was fully charged I let loose a roar that shook the surrounding causing the snowball around to raise in cloud coving everywhere. The trees were being blown back and storm clouds had begun gathering in the skies above. Lightning ran through the ground originating from a central point as the wind picked up and raged through the forest.

Breathing heavily to stabilize myself I let out a growl as I opened my eyes. My vision was better than even when I channeled power into it. I was noticeably taller and built differently in a bulky way. Looking at my hand's white fur had covered them with claws sticking out from the end. My sense of smell was sharper as well as my hearing. My feet were no longer human as they were also covered in fur and they had claws as well. My clothes were in shreds for the most part but I didn't feel the need for them anymore. I suddenly had the urge to shout and I did just that. The sound that escaped from me was nothing close to a shout but a mighty roar announcing my presence to any residing in the forest, welcoming any challenge, and stamping my authority to all within. The stormy skies agreed with me as lightning flashed continuously and thunder clapped in a deafening volume shaking the ground beneath.

"Beast transformation."

My voice was now deeper than before and had a feral depth to it. Shaking myself off I placed my hand on my sword to draw it out before stopping myself. No. Let's do this without them for now. "

Time for something different. Let's finish this."

With a growl I ran on all four towards the winged man who was now flanked by three were cats. Seemed they were the only ones left. They let their arrows loose and I evaded them without breaking stride. Getting before him I brought down a clawed hand towards his chest but at the last moment, he grabbed one of the cats and used it as a shield. The cat exploded from the force of my blow and the winged man escaped into the skies to attack from above. Not wanting to give his remaining backup a chance I stretched out my hands in their individual directions and sent lightning attacks their way. They but crumbled to dust on impact.

"Do you believe you'll be safe from me in the skies?"

Not paying attention to my words he hegab swinging his arms at me, sending a barrage of sharp stone feathers my way. Evading them was no hard feat for me. Dragging my left hand through the snow I swiped upwards towards him. Using the cloud of snow that I raised as cover, in the same motion I sent an attack from my claws flying straight at him. The sound of stone breaking allowed me to know that my attack had been successful. A few moments later a loud thud sounded not too far from me. Letting out a roar, the sound wave cleared the cloud restoring vision all around. The winged man was struggling to get up at this point. One of his hands and a portion of his face had been broken and his right side showed signs of crumbling. As he stretched his hand out towards me to try and attack again, I charged at him. Once I was in front of him I punched his abdomen sending him flying backward while crashing into trees. Jumping high in the air with a hand raised high above my head, a stream of current from the sky connected with my hand and it shone brighter as I landed and charged towards where the winged man had crashed. Maintaining the current and increasing my speed, I rammed into him with my lightning-coated fist bringing down the current from the heavens on him as he was destroyed to the last molecule.

With a final roar, the beast in me signaled the end of the hunt.
