While Shadow Clone Jutsu mechanics can only be properly abused by Dattebayo Uzumaki and potentially his maternal clan as well, it was still a useful tool for learning in key areas.

First was for mastering chakra nature where you don't need to use up chakra to master chakra nature.

Second was for practicing movement in case of Taijutsu, Shurikenjutsu, Kenjutsu and even Fūinjutsu to polish movements.

Third, which did not seem to be utilized by others in the anime, was to use clones to observe the user, giving user critical self-observation from multiple perspectives for error correction, helpful for learning jutsu faster than they have yet to perform successfully.

And due to its ranking, he can distribute it as a 'gift' to show goodwill and confidence to the new generation.

As for Body Flicker, it was a practical skill to escape from formidable enemies. Madara believed in the pragmatic approach: survival matters more than honor and pride.
