Siroos's heart was extra turbulent. Not a shard of solace he could find as he tossed and turned in the small bed he lay in. The bed was too small for him, his feet dangled out. But that was the least of his concerns.
All his thoughts were focused on Cassandra. They were hundreds of miles apart and yet he could sense she was in pain. The thought of someone torturing her or putting their hands on his mate wrecked him in ways he couldn't even explain. He clutched Cassandra's pendant in his hand and pressed.
"I will find you, Malakti." He sent a silent promise.
The more time that elapsed the more part of his sanity he seemed to lose.
