A Sister's sorrow

CHAPTER: 14

(Continuation of previous chapter)

   Seven years have passed since my brother became the ruler of Artemis That is when a few of our nobles and ministers have betrayed the throne and attacked the kingdom at midnight, They poisoned our kingdom's soldiers and The attack was so sudden no one had enough time to react properly, the royal family was driven to a corner with no escape. Upon realising the situation my brother ordered every one in the kingdom to protect me, Because it was the king's order everyone followed it, There was a safe passage to escape though an underground tunnel only known by the royal family.

Every one tried their best to hold of the attack forces of the enemy but Due to the poison our solder number grove thin, my brother and his wife fought very hard till the end. The situation got out of hand and the passage way was the only choice we got left with, We managed to enter the passage but there were still a lot of enemies left and were in our pursuit, My brother and his wife hugged me and Isabelle, in the middle of the tunnel all of a sudden.

 I wasn't aware at that time that it was going to be our last hug, My brother forced me to leave the kingdom through the tunnel and asked me to take refuge in Zeldean Empire with Isabelle He promised me that he would meet us in zeldean kingdom after the battle  finished. We reached Zelda safely in one night on a horse, Just after we reached Zelda we came to know that my entire family lost their lives in the battle amd Our water source was polluted by poison after the battle ended. Your grandfather and my grandfather were close friends So he allowed my kingdom citizens into his own kingdom. In that attack many innocent civilians lost their lives Nearly half of our kingdoms' population was, massacred in one night.

Your grandfather expanded  zaldean empire boundaries, so that my people could live. Zeldean empire had a large amount of forest and waste grass lands, in which my people settled, It took nearly 2 years  to build  colony's in that wasteland Along with the colony's, the boundary walls of the kingdom you see today were built as well. Every elemental magic[Mana] user in the kingdom landed their help.

Every one from my kingdoms settled in Zelda and started their new lives and just after that your father was named as the new king of Zelda, and I got married to the new king with my approval of course.

Arthur's prospective (inner thoughts):

I never knew that mother was suffering  so much. Loosing someone you loved too dearly is a hell itself and dying while protect you, I can't even Imagine the burden of pain mother felt not to mention the thought of guilt. Mother might not say it but she is blaming herself  for what has happened to her brother, I bet she believes that if she hadn't left her brother that night she wouldn't have lost him like that. If I have to take a guess based on mother's nature, she must think that if she refused to leave her brother's side that night maybe her brother would have found another way where everyone could survive.

oh....My sweet mother, if it is what you really fell like then it is nothing more than wishful thinking Life can be cruel sometimes, no dining it, I know for a fact that if there was another way I am sure your brother wouldn't have left you all by yourself in this scary world, i am sure of it. Because there was no another way he did what he did, deep down in your heart you know it to as well.

 You are carrying so much burden on your shoulders and you are just pretending to be happy. Now I can understand a little mother, why you were so scared and sad when I first saw you, You thought It was your fault yet again that someone was suffering because of you, isn't it. When you saw me woke up, you thought to yourself that, it was a miracle that I got survived So you thought it was your duty to protect this miracle, that's why even thou you are extremely week you try everything you can, for my happens. Even though you know that you will get hurt if you over use magic[Mana], still you use it to prevent me from climbing the window and getting myself injured.

If I had to guess, Isabelle must have distanced herself from you and avoided you I can't blame her either, she was only six at that time. I never knew mother,  that you were suffering with such pain and guilt.

(After hearing his mother's story, and realising about his mother's suffering, Arthur clenched his fist and looked his mother with determined eyes and thought to him self:

"This is as far as you suffer, mother. I swear on my life from this moment onwards no pain will ever reach you not as long as I live, I'll make sure of that."
