Shades of Pain

Fredrick was carrying a bag full of some things Minnie told him to get her. Fredrick got the idea that his sweetheart was having interests in painting as the things she told him to get was a canvas,paint brushes and paints. Fred bought a large canvas for her and also brought some smalls ones. He brought the best paints which were expensive for a normal man but for Fred nothing was expensive. He also brought the paint brushes which had soft bristles but those bristles won't remain the same when the paint on them gets dried and turns into crust of the colour which the painter was using.

He drove back to the mansion and gave those things to Minnie who took them inside and Fred also wanted to see what was she going to paint with the items he got her from his own money.

"What are you going to paint?"he asked her wanting to know what her first painting will be

"Something beautiful" she responded looking at the different colours of paints infront of her all in one pack.

"I only thought you liked sketching. I never saw your sketches though"said Fred to which Minnie pointed to her sketching notebook so that Fred can see what she makes on it using a led pencil.

Fred opened the notebook and looked at the sketches which were made from the simplest writing material. He looked at the drawing she made and was left surprised as they were beautiful.

"Is that Jurin?" Fred questioned having the page opened on which Jurin's sketch was.

"You've seen her enough times to know that" spoke Minnie assembling the things but Fred noticed how his lovely girlfriend even didn't let the smallest of details escape from her sharp eyes and included them in the sketches.

"You draw with so much detail. Why not study arts?" Fred said to which Minnie smiled and said

"Arts? Fred iam too late for that and besides I only draw and sketch for my own fun. It's like a hobby" Minnie told him and Fred disagreed with her saying that

"Your not too late and besides you can study arts at this age too. There's so much to discover in that field. Your sketching can give you a good chance in fashion designing and there's also so much to get from paintings" Fred looking at Minnie's potential started telling her that she should actually study arts and it will also make him happy to see his beloved chasing her dreams.

"That's nice Fred but I don't know. If I start to study arts then when am I going to be here to do the work? Minnie put forward the main point that if she has arts as a part of her life then she will not be able to do the cleaning of the mansion. It was either that she studies arts or does her work in the house. Both of the things couldn't be done together.

"Minnie Iam done with you working as a maid now. Iam talking to Louis and taking you with me to my house" Fred said resolute that now he won't let Minnie do any work if she chooses work over her dreams and desires.

Minnie was aghast to hear that and quickly asked him the following

"Are you crazy?"

"No, Minnie your actually being crazy. You have such a talent and you want to waste it. I won't let you work and you won't have to cook or clean. But all I want is for you to actually do what makes you happy and I know that cleaning the mansion isn't included in that.

"Fred... thank you" Minnie said when Fred kissed her and told her that the view outside would be perfect for the painting she was about to paint and he then left Minnie in the room so that she can paint at ease.

The shovels dug out the dirt from the ground and it joined the pile of dirt at the side. They had been digging the ground trying to confirm if what they thought was right and when one of the men saw a hand inside the dirt they knew that they were right. The corpse was taken out and it was of a young girl. She was wounded and died because of blood loss due to a wound given to her by a glass bottle which hitted her on the head. Her entire body was buried in the ground of the garden to keep her hidden and the murderers thought that noone would suspect a thing.

Louis looked at the dead girls face which had cuts on it. Her body was skelly as she wasn't properly fed and she had grown frail from the tiresome works the woman would make her do. Louis clenched his fists as the scene came infront of his eyes so clear when he entered that room of horrors where he saw his younger sister's dead body. Minnie and him had one thing in common. Both lost their sisters to devils in the human form.

"Take them to the abandoned warehouse. I will kill them for myself " Louis turned to the officer and said when he told his men to take the other girl who was Maria's older sister to the hospital.

Both the sisters had been through a lot of trauma and terrible experiences in which one was murdered and one survived. The credits were all given to the milkman who saw the abuse being done on the girls as the wounds on different parts of their body increased and he told the police about it. The police officers considered Louis better in these types of matters because where the government would give the criminals the punishment of death by an easy method. Louis would give them a taste of all the pains in the world before leaving them for death to take.

The girl that survived still had effects of the torture she had been through and instead of leaving her in that hospital under the care of the doctors Louis took her with him to his house where she was given treatment and also was talked to. Louis promised her that he will take revenge from those who murdered her sister and he fulfilled the promise too. But Minnie became used to the mansion and didn't want to leave. Louis didn't want her to stay there but then also knowing Minnie has noone in this world he allowed her to stay there. Louis was also in need of a maid for which he hired Minnie. She wasn't given any money as all of her needs would be fulfilled and she was given shelter,food and everything that she needed.

Minnie had the palett in her one hand and the brush in her other. The canvas was no longer white and was infront of her eyes. The twittering of birds could be heard outside as they sung songs while flying free. The room was silent only till the door opened and Jurin came inside and saw Minnie painting a beautiful scenery. Everything in the scenery had it own colours and beauty. The flowers were pink while the sky was blue and the cotton candy in the sky was white. It seemed like a place where one would be and just sit down and think about life and it's glory. For the success and the failures and at that very place he would smile because in such beauty maybe regret won't chase him and even when he recalls the darkest time in his life he will just smile.

"Wow it's so pretty" Jurin said and Minnie placed the pallet on the table and thanked Jurin for the praise.

"When did you start painting?" Jurin asked her

"I did paint a long time ago but then when I came here sketching became my hobby and today I just felt like getting back into what I left" Minnie told her to which Jurin looked closely at the painting. Painting was a craft Minnie could do well. And painting wasn't as easy as people thought it to be because if it was then every person could have held a paintbrush and be declared as good as Leonardo da Vinci.

They were talking when Fred came in the room. He had just told Louis that he will be taking Minnie with him and Louis was pretty happy to hear that Minnie wanted to achieve something big in life.

"Minnie pack your things"

"Where is she going?"Jurin asked confused on where Fred was about to take her.

"She is going with me and will be staying with me" Fred proclaimed and Jurin looked at Minnie

"Your leaving?"

"Yes, I now want to start a new life. One in which I will be able to find my happiness"

"Will you be living with him?"

"Iam her boyfriend so ofcourse she will be with me" Fred said and then Minnie began to pack her things ready to leave this place for a new house. The house which belonged to her boyfriend and which would be her new home,their home.

When Minnie was ready with her things she stepped down the staircase which led to the first portion of the house and as Fred putted her stuff in the car she looked at Jurin standing next to her

"Don't be sad. I will keep on visiting you whenever Fred comes here" Minnie spoke thinking that Jurin who had been her friend for a short time would be glum at her leaving the mansion quitting the job of the maid.

Jurin watched them sit in the car and the sight of Fred smiling at Minnie while starting the car was a sign of his love for her being pure in every way. The car drove away and Jurin closed the door. A thought then entered her mind

"I should probably ask Louis to let me leave now. I need to find the right path in this life. One without revenge or hatred" With that Jurin made her way upstairs. She was free from all the chores as there weren't any left but before she could take a step up the stairs she heard her name from the voice of someone familiar to her

"Jurin"she turned around giving her attention to the person infront of her.

"Were you going to sleep?"Louis asked her and she responded with a "yes"

"Alright goodnight"was all he said and ended the talk between them but this was the first time he even cared to wish her goodnight or else he wouldn't have a second to spare.

Jurin went up the stairs and into her room she went. This mansion was where she had been spending most of the time after gaining the memory of her past life. It was a nice place to stay at if you owned it and anyone would like to make this mansion their home as a king rather than a slave. Jurin laid down on the bed and then got up. She didn't feel like sleeping even if that was what she came here for. The curtains that hid the window were pulled away by her and she opened it to let the light breeze touch her face. She reminisced about the first time she came here in the mansion.

"I guess sometimes what you see isn't what it actually is"she sat beside the window staring at the sheet of darkness which covered the sky. In that sheet the sparkling were spreaded.

"Perhaps this could be my last day here"she thought to herself. Maybe this could be her last times spent here and tommorow she like Minnie would leave this place. The only thing which won't be similar between them would be that Minnie left with someone who loved her and Jurin would leave with nobody but herself.

And in the end this was only a place for her to stay at temporarily and not permanently.
