Looking at her younger self in the mirror, Aashvi touched her face. Her rosy cheeks with soft baby skin was really real to touch.
Her skin that had become thick and oily filled with pimple scars with the days as she grew up, now still had that softness and baby fat.
Her light brown eyes at the moment, were still watery and big. It was no longer a pair of dark eyes.
Her hair, that had become rough and thin with days, at the moment were thick and shiny.
A smile subconsciously formed on her lips and soon she burst in to laughter.
Yes, She's back! She's back!
After all the miseries, she's back to the time when the miseries had just started. She still have the chance to change everything. She can still change her fate and leave this Hell.
Her laughter abruptly stopped when that thought came to her mind.
Yes...! She'll leave this place! She needs to leave this Hell!
She looked into her eyes deeply, through her reflection in the mirror. There was no lingering love for the members of Barman family left, only the determination and the seriousness of the matter. The matter of leaving the place.
So with that thought, she turned around to pack her things.
But the moment, she turned, she came face to face with the shabby room of the Barman Villa. She had been staying here for so long, yet why had she never noticed this place of hers in the house?
It was dirty looking and so dark with a simple glance. Nothing good but a bed, dim light, a fan and a table were there. There wasn't a decent cupboard there too. All her clothes were kept on the bed, her table had a few books but mainly her clothes on it too.
Even the mirror hanging at the wall had almost lost it's aluminium covering!
And the bathroom! It's okay that it hadn't become unhygienic yet.
God knows why she had cherished this place so much back then?!
It's worst than a pigsty!
Whereas, she remembered her brothers' rooms. Even the drawing rooms and guest rooms and the kitchen.. All were decorated so wonderfully... except this one.
A sarcastic and self mocking smile made it's way on her lips as her eyes looked around the room.
Barmans had long hinted that she didn't belong here.... It was only she who was blind and failed to take that hint.
"How pathetic I was," Aashvi exclaimed with a long sigh as she shook her head dejectedly.
Then, she took out her grey pink suitcase that she had brought back with her. Her mind hazily remembered that it was Brother Koushik and Sister Udisha who had thoughtfully packed her luggage whereas she was bragging them about her family by sitting on the bed and swinging her legs.
Her siblings would give her a smile from time to time, but had never said a word. Now that she thinks about it, that smile was filled with sorrow and sadness.
"Aashvi... Aashvi... Just what have you done?!"
She couldn't help but lament herself for her previous life.
It would have been good if she could have slapped her previous self hard enough to vent her rising rage at the moment.
So she gave a solid punch on the bed with her little fist before she started packing her luggage.
And surprisingly, she didn't have much to begin with. So, after she was done, she looked at her small watch on the table, which was broken by her elder brother, Ajay when he had pushed her back then. Luckily, that watch was adjusted like that by Brother Koushik back then.
Since, little Aashvi was a mischievous one back then, she would often get injured while playing. And sometimes, she would stupidly get lost while playing in the children's playground.
Little Koushik used to worry for this sister of his a lot. So, he had changed few functions of the watch after a lot of studies and finally created this exclusive product.
Unlike ordinary watch, this custom-made watch was only for little Aashvi. Not only will it never stop functioning, but there was a little red button at the side which was needed to be pressed by Aashvi whenever she was lost. Just the moment, she would press that button, an emergency signal would ring in the watch at Koushik's wrist watch and he would come for her rescue with her other siblings and the orphanage guardian.
Aashvi rubbed that red button for a while as she looked at the time in the watch through the broken watch. It's 4am at the moment.
Since, she didn't have any calender in her room nor a smartphone, she didn't know which day today it was exactly.
She could only figure out her age by her mirror reflection thanks to that incident on her nineth birthday. Her face was 'accidentally' scratched by a sharp knife by her second brother, Dev when he was handing the knife to her to cut her birthday cake.
It took her almost two years to remove the scar with potato juice and aloe vera gel.
At that time, no one had helped her to go to the hospital. Luckily, the servants of the house were kind to her and had helped her back then.
Or she might have really lived with that hideous scar till she died back then!
Her parents only used to return home once two or three months. So, they were naturally absent on her birthday. And even if they were present, she was sure they would have never cared about her injuries. Instead, she would be scolded by her parents for her 'carelessness' like always.
So, after wearing that wrist watch, she turned around towards the door with the grey pink suitcase in hand.
But since, She's now a eight year old once again, her body capacity couldn't be compare with her teen self. So, it was taking a lot of effort for her to drag that thing with her. Yet, she didn't plan to stop and stay at the house for a night.
