The day after our not-so-restful rest day, it was time to bid Seraphina farewell as she needed to return to her own kingdom. Her duties as queen called her back, and though I felt a pang of sadness, I knew we'd reunite soon.
"Take care, Emily," she said, giving me a lingering kiss. "And try not to get into too much trouble."
"I'll try," I said with a grin, "but you know how it is around here."
She laughed, the sound like a sweet melody that I'd carry with me until we met again. With one last wave, she mounted her horse and rode off, her retinue following close behind.
As soon as Seraphina was out of sight, Arawn, Baelgor, Morgana, Lilith, and I gathered in the courtyard to discuss our next move.
"I say we go hunting," Arawn suggested, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "There are reports of increased monster activity in the Darkwood Forest. Perfect opportunity to level up."
