Stick and Carrot

Though trembling with fear everyone still felt happy as finally that small ray of hope had shown. They at this moment prayed to all the gods for the emperor to become the wisest person in the entire world.

Both emperor and Shiyou felt their heart back in place. Emperor gives the subtle look to his heir clearly hinting that though hurtful sacrifices need to be made. Shiyou being clear and having thorough understanding of his father felt a pinch in his heart but was clear on what was more important as of current. Thus he hints back encouraging his father with his support to decide at ease.
