"Alright, I'm ready whenever."
"Pfft! I'm sorry; however, you will not be going in that attire. You would be embarrassing yourself and us."
"My sister is right. Let's go get you some proper attire."
"I'm not spending my money on a useless suit or outfit."
"That's fine. We will buy it. Hehe~ In return, we get to pick the outfit."
"This is going to go horribly, isn't it?"
Alex was then dragged around the city and forced to try on a whole assortment of clothes. Finally, after 4 hours, they had found one they both liked and were now on their way to the palace. Alex was exhausted from everything; however, he did have to admit the clothes really made his appearance shine. His clothing was simple yet elegant and gave off a noble feeling. After everything was finally done, Alex was guided to the place and then to the Throne room. Although normally nobles would be lined up on each side of the red carpet, only the King was present, sitting in his throne. The king looked to be an old man; however, he was actually only in his mid-twenties. He looked to be on the verge of death and was only hanging on by a thread. He looked over at Alex with suspicion and asked,
"Is it true you can cure our family's curse? Just know, if you're lying, you will experience a pain worse than death."
"I'm not. I truly believe I can cure the curse. Although, I will need some time to do so."
"Very well, how long will you need?"
"I would say about 2 days at least; however, I might need more."
"I see. Very well then. You may stay here in a guest bedroom until you have completed this task. Once you have completed it, I will grant you a satisfactory reward. Maid, please guide our guest to his room."
The maid bowed to the king and walked out of the throne room. She led Alex to a simple room inside the palace and left soon after.
Once Alex had left, the king's face broke into a smile. He knew that the young man might be lying; however, he wanted, no, he needed to put his trust in him. He predicted their bloodline would only last for one more generation, and he could not allow that. While he was thinking about the bright future ahead, a messenger ran into the throne room. He seemed out of breath and said with urgency,
"My King, the prince of the Black Iron Kingdom requests an audience! Moreover, it seems he even brought a message from his father!"
"Sigh! Very well, let him in."
A few minutes later, a young man with gray hair and black eyes walked into the throne room. He had a fake smile and said,
"Your majesty, I have come with a letter from my father."
"Aide! If you would please!"
The aide swiftly retrieved the letter and began to read it aloud.
"Dear King of the Faint Heart Kingdom, my son has taken an interest in your youngest daughter, Rosa Heart. I sincerely request a marriage between both of them. I believe this union will strengthen both of our kingdoms. Sincerely, the King of the Black Iron Kingdom."
"I see. I will give you an answer in three days."
"Three days? That's too long!"
"Silence! I have already spoken; now leave!"
"V-very well, I wish you the best of health, your majesty."
The young man left; however, once his back was turned toward the king, his expression showed a trace of disdain, greed, and lust. He thought with disdain,
"How dare you!? Do you think just because you're a king of a small kingdom, you can tell me what to do!? Just you wait!"
After the prince had left, the King let out a sigh of exhaustion. He was in a pinch; however, he decided to wait and see if Alex could cure their curse. If he couldn't, then he might have to give his daughter to that scum of a human being. He really hoped he could cure them of this curse.
Alex lay down on the fluffy bed and thought about what he needed to do. He knew how to cure their curse; however, actually modifying the spell is a different story. He sighed and began to work. Alex then activated his Seeker Eyes and began to work. He first separated the spell into multiple parts. He separated the spell into a part that actually gave the spell its function, then the requirements for that spell, and then the element. He needed to modify both the function and element part of the spell. He first went to the elemental side of things, and adding the Time element was fairly easy and only took him 8 hours to complete. He then spent the next day trying to figure out how to add the function he wanted. Even after all that time, he couldn't figure it out and decided to just add a whole new part. He added a new function on top of the first function. This took him another 4 hours; however, he was finally done. He just needed to combine everything, and the modified spell should be done. While he was combining everything, he struggled to layer the two functions on top of each other. He sighed and felt this might not even work. That's when he realized it was because he didn't add a sequence of activation, and also didn't modify the requirements. He quickly modified the spell requirements and then set the sequence for the functions. After everything was done, a golden light formed around him, and a system notification appeared, informing him of his success.
[ You have modified the spell: Cure! ]
[ New spell: Time Isolation has been formed! ]

[ To congratulate your achievement of modifying a spell, you've been granted the title of Sorcerer! ]

Alex immediately equipped the title, switching it for the Mercenary of the Gods title. He immediately noticed the difference around him and was astonished by his surroundings. His comprehension of the Time element was so high that he was rapidly learning new ways to implement the Time element. This happened for every element, and he felt astonished at the impactions of each element. This phenomenon continued for a whole hour, and he finally broke out of the trance. He noticed he could easily understand the basic and intermediate knowledge of every element. He sighed at this title and felt it was game-breaking.
