The Grandest Confession

Mo Chenxuan smiled.

'This girl.' He thought.

Simultaneously, a bouquet of red roses appeared in his left hand.

"Wu'er, will you be my girlfriend?" He asked.

When she heard the question, Qin Wu was momentarily shocked.

Under her happy theatre mask, her face flushed redder than her lipstick.

"Twelve red roses." She muttered with a satisfied expression.

'Does this guy know the meaning of twelve red roses or is it just a coincidence? Either way, I am willing to be his.'

"I will be yours." She said, taking the roses.

"I am sorry there are no fireworks and…" Mo Chenxuan started but Qin Wu stopped him.

"Who needs fireworks and grand gestures? All I need is someone to walk hand in hand."

As if to make her point, Qin Wu took his left hand.

"Don't you know, companionship is the grandest and the longest confession."

Hearing this, Mo Chenxuan intertwined their hands.

"I understand." He said.

"In this apocalypse, I will hold your hand and never let go. If there is a world after the apocalypse, I will continue to accompany you."

"Mmmm." Qin Wu nodded because she didn't know what to say.

Including her previous life, she had loved Mo Chenxuan for eighteen years.

Now that the man finally returned her affection, she was overwhelmed.

"We are almost at the estate gate." Mo Chenxuan suddenly said.

"How many people live in this villa area?" Qin Wu asked and put away the roses.

"The estate has forty-eight villas and each has at least five servants. Those alone total more than two hundred people. If you add the homeowners and their families, the total is more than three hundred. In addition to the servants and homeowners, there are twelve security guards and twelve property managers."

"Fortunately, the villas are not close to each other." Qin Wu muttered and turned to Mo Chenxuan.

"Brother Chenxuan, where are your servants?"

"The maid, gardener, and driver are on holiday. Whether they survive is up to their fate. As for the chef and housekeeper, I sent them to city B."

"I remember you have a villa in city B."

"Mmmm." Mo Chenxuan nodded.

"We will live there when we arrive in city B. Wu'er…" Mo Chenxuan frowned.

"Wu'er prepare to crash through."

Hearing this, Qin Wu turned to the front.

Trapped behind a single bar gate were more than forty zombies.

From the looks of it, these zombies were residents who rushed to the security office for help.

Unfortunately, they became zombies and couldn't find their way around the bar gate.

"Shouldn't we stop and kill them?" Qin Wu asked.

"It's been less than an hour since everyone woke up. At the moment, people have yet to accept the new reality. If we start killing the zombies, it may become troublesome." Mo Chenxuan tilted his chin toward the security office.

When she looked over, Qin Wu saw a dozen or so survivors.

The survivors were looking out of the security office's window; as if waiting for something to happen.

"Okay, let's crash through."

Fortunately, the barrier gate was automatic.

Since the power was still on, the bar raised as soon as the car approached.

However, zombies were sensitive to sound.

When they heard the roar of the hummer, they immediately turned around and rushed towards the approaching car.

Seeing this, Mo Chenxuan was not merciful.

Without hesitation, he crashed through the group of zombies and drove out of the estate.

After driving another one hundred metres, the following zombies couldn't keep up and returned to the estate entrance.

"The road should be clear from here to the city." Mo Chenxuan said.

Unfortunately, he spoke too soon.

From the villa area, there was only one road that led to the city.

This road was the Heishe Mountain pass.

As the name suggested, the Heishe Mountain pass was long and full of curves.

As a result, racers liked to hold street races on this road.

After a race, the racers would hold a party at an empty lot at the highest point of the pass.

Unexpectedly, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu encountered the aftermath of such a party.

After leaving the villa area, the hummer climbed the mountainside and reached the top of the Heishen mountain pass.

Ordinarily, this place was empty.

However, what the two saw were dozens of sportscars and hundreds of zombies.

"What a thing." Qin Wu commented.

"If there were survivors, they have already escaped." Mo Chenxuan said and parked by the roadside.

"Are you up for some zombie hunting?" He asked.

"Shall we compete?" Qin Wu asked, and without waiting for an answer, she rushed out of the car.

When Mo Chenxuan reached her side, the girl had already beheaded two zombies.

"Nice technique." He praised.

"Right?!" Qin Wu chuckled while swinging her sword.

Because the people had just turned into zombies, their speed was slow, and their skulls were fragile.

Taking advantage of this, Qin Wu and Mo Chenxuan took less than half an hour to kill close to three hundred zombies.

When they were done, they dragged the bodies to a vacant place and burned them.

After that, the two began searching the cars.

"Most only have alcohol and snacks." Qin Wu stated.

"The cars are not practical during the apocalypse. However, they have gasoline, and their bodies can be used for parts. Let's take them and sort them out later."

"Okay." Qin Wu nodded and prepared to take the cars.

However, Mo Chenxuan stopped her.

"Let me." He said.

In the blink of an eye, dozens of cars disappeared, and the top of the pass became an empty lot.

"Speaking of sorting things, my livestock is still in a lorry." Qin Wu sighed.

"Let's get some portable livestock corrals if we have a chance. Otherwise, we will have to personally build livestock pens."

"I will add portable livestock corrals to my list." Qin Wu said as she got into the car.

"You can check the map to see if there is anywhere we can get them."

"Good."

While Mo Chenxuan drove, Qin Wu checked the maps.

Unfortunately, she was not in luck.

After all, city T was not an agriculture-based city.
