'Hmm, this paper was in my hand when I came into this body. What was this guy reading before he died?' Pulling the paper closer, he finally got a good look at the contents.
"Ah, it's a script. Let's see how it compares to the ones I wrote back then. Hope we don't lose out in this aspect," he muttered, feeling a spark of interest.
He slowly read the script in his hands. It wasn't the complete drama script but only Kim Joon-won's part. As he read, the anticipation and smile on his face faded, replaced by a deep frown.
"No wonder that guy died of anger. This is really sh*t. The role this guy got is barely one page of dialogue. Such a small role," he sighed, leaning back on the couch and tossing the paper aside, closing his eyes in frustration.
He recalled the reason the body's previous owner died. It was this script. The role was so insignificant that he hardly had any lines. He didn't get to know the entire plot but guessed it was a school romance drama.
"I was excited about acting again, and this is what I get after coming here." He opened his eyes and sighed deeply.
"Well, now that most things here are done, let's explore the outside world and see how advanced everything here is." He sprang up from the couch, his eyes filled with anticipation. He wanted to learn more about this world, and going out was the best way to do that.
He grabbed the keys to the main door and made his way out. Noticing a mask hanging on a hook beside the door, he grabbed it and put it on before stepping out, locking the door behind him.
There were only five similar apartments on each floor of the three-story building. His was on the second floor, so he made his way down the hallway and the stairs. Reaching the ground floor, he walked out and was greeted by bustling streets.
The streets, people, and vehicles were a lot to take in. He stood there, mesmerized, for a whole minute. After snapping out of it, he looked left and right, feeling the wind blow to the right, and decided to follow it.
As he walked down the street, he saw various shops, graffiti-painted walls, people riding skateboards, and much more. He was so captivated by everything around him that he didn't want to close his eyes, fearing he might miss something.
If anyone from his old world saw their calm, collected, and old king acting like this, they would have stabbed themselves in the heart rather than believe their eyes.
As Kim Joon-won slowly walked through the streets, he suddenly stopped. His eyes were on a brightly flashing billboard with a picture of a couple and a title next to it. It was a movie advertisement.
"So, that's a new movie. It seems to have released a few days ago. Let's see what these movies are like. If I remember correctly, a movie theater should be around that corner." He was excited to experience something new. He knew about dramas, but seeing that billboard triggered memories of watching movies from the original Kim Joon-won, and he wanted to try it out.
Slowly walking towards the theater as he remembered, he finally reached it. Standing before the large building, he felt a rush of excitement. This would be his first exposure to this world's mainline entertainment—movies.
He noticed that the theater was about to start its noon show of the movie advertised on the billboard he saw earlier. He walked to the counter.
"One ticket for 'My Love,' please," he said with a polite smile to the lady behind the counter while taking out his wallet. Paying for the ticket, he made his way inside, filled with excitement.
Entering the respective screen, he saw that the movie had already started. Quietly, he made his way to his seat. As he sat down, he noticed something unusual: everyone around him seemed to be couples.
That thought only lasted a moment as his eyes were glued to the screen. He didn't turn his head even once, completely engrossed in the movie. He didn't hear the constant murmuring from the couples around him and was fixated on the screen.
The lights came back on after two hours. The couples and other people slowly got up and exited, but he remained motionless, staring at the now-blank screen.
He snapped out of his trance when a worker gently shook him, informing him that the movie was over and it was time to leave. Nodding slowly, he quietly exited the theater and found himself standing on the busy streets again.
Stretching his stiff neck, he sat on a nearby bench in front of the theater, cutting off the noises from the busy streets and immersing himself in his thoughts.
"Movies are really amazing," he murmured with a slight smile, looking up at the floating clouds.
